Only One Heart
A pair of rings

Aika sat with pouting lips next to Marko who had been busy talking with Purna. While he himself was just silent, occasionally murmuring indistinctly if the father involved him in the conversation. Behind the table, a pair of Aika's legs twitched uncomfortably. He could not stand to be too long between two men of different generations who are now discussing the official application that will be held three days from now. Aika was not unaware, since Purna often stole a glance at her and occasionally smiled. Making the girl even more careless to be under the same roof as the young man. “Regarding her engagement ring, how? Have you also prepared?” ask Marko while sipping the apple syrup that Aika was serving. Hearing the question asked by her father, Aika became more and more goiter. He had permission to go back to the room, but Marko forbade because he said it was not polite to let the future husband who had come a long way to visit. Damnit damnit! Who asked him to come? Upset, Aika stuck her hand forward and reached out to some potato chips from inside the jar she had brought from the kitchen. Chewed violently, causing a noise from his mouth. Next to Aika, Marko kicks the princess's leg from under the table, asking the girl to stop throwing tantrums, but Aika pretends to not understand the code her father uses. While Purna just smiled a little look Aika's behavior in her eyes looks so funny if she is in such a bad mood. “If the ring problem, the plan is tomorrow I want to invite Aika to buy it directly. I'm afraid the Aika does not like it if I choose it myself.” Uhuk! The results of chewing potato chips that should have entered through the esophagus, as small as stray down the throat, practically made Aika cough. Purna swiftly stood up from his seat to get a drink at the table and bring it closer to Aika's lips. “Pelan-pelan if you eat,” he said softly. In Aika's heart was grieving. Inevitably, he received a drink from Purna's hand while glaring sharply. Purna did not want to care about the behavior of the future wife, only the plates were pouted. “See, less what else try your future husband?” Marko asked after Purna returned to his seat across the table. “Udah well, well established, attention anyway. Don't sell expensive that way!” “Aika does not sell expensive, kok!” aika refused. He folded his hands in front of his chest and looked away. Not wanting to catch Marko or Purna. “So, when will you buy the ring?” Marko paid no heed to the princess. He again spoke to Purna who had not been able to see Aika from the corner of his eye. “Oh ...” Purna slightly flinched, misbehaving Marko who caught her wet looking at the girl across the table fixedly. “Tomorrow, Om.” “Gue hasn't said yes, Na!” Still with two arms crossed in front of her chest, Aika turned her head. Staring at Purna with a deep twitch between his two thick, neatly curved eyebrows. “Aika, watch your talk! Same as the prospective husband himself really, your speech is so. That's polite, dong!” Marko scolded a little hard. Beware of Aika's attitude that began to go too far. “Nothing, really, Om.” Purna who could not bear to see Aika scolded, opened his voice to defend. For Purna, it's better for her girl to talk disrespectfully than to be silent. Purna was used to facing Aika's attitude who never bothered to try gently on her. Aika's lips are getting more and more manyun. Purna's defense made it even more windy. Ah, if the papa knows, that actually loved by Purna is the favorite daughter-in-law in this house—Jessica, surely he will not accept the young man's proposal. Aika sighed in heart. “Besok Aika can't.” Aika softened her voice. Fear Marko will get angry. He sharpened his vision when his brown-black eyeballs accidentally met the view of Purna's dark brown marbles. As if hinting that the young man should not be big-headed. “Aika, right, should work!” “Nothing, tomorrow you I give permission all day. This is right, also for our benefit.” Purna who replied. Aika held back her wrath behind her chest, even though she spoke to Marko, not the young man. “Why did you give permission?” one of Marko's eyebrows shot up, confused by Purna's sentence just now. For all he knows, Aika works at a famous restaurant in South Jakarta as a waiter. Purna grinned while scratching his arm that does not itch, because it is not polite if he has to scratch the nape in front of the prospective in-laws. “It just so happens, Aika works at my dad's restaurant, Om.” “Oah! Even if you continue to avoid, whose name is mate must have met too, huh? Hahaha ..” And Aika was getting mumps hearing a crisp joke Marko made.

As was planned last night, now here is Aika and Purna now. Inside the black Fortuner Purna's car that was traveling at medium speed, splitting the Capital's road that this afternoon was crowded with many vehicles. From the front view, Purna glanced at Aika who was still silent. The atmosphere in the car was so silent, only the roar of the car engine and the cries of the pedagogues were heard, the occasional sharp shrill honking sound filling the void between Purna and Aika that still remained in silence. “Aika.” This is not the first time Purna called his name, but who was spoken to as suddenly deaf and unable to speak. “Gue knows, you're angry with me. But, pliss ... don't keep gini, dong! Let's get married, ..” Aika's thumb finger that was originally busy dancing on the keypad came to a halt. He pressed the home button and exited his Line chat room with Jessica, then glanced at Purna at a glance. “We agreed, Na. Will establish this relationship in their own way?” “Gue never agreed on that!” Purna is still trying to maintain the intonation of his voice, although emotions have spread to the crown. Snaking congestion, ac-like air does not give the effect of cold even though it has been set at a low temperature, and the painful Aika response is the right combination to arouse Purna's anger. Many times he combed his hair back by placing emphasis on each fingertip to press the nerves of his head that began to tighten. Purna is still trying to be patient. “As you may, give us a chance to get started, Ai!” A cynical laughter escaped from Aika's lips, welcoming Purna's request which was like the most ridiculous joke in the entire world. “Starting something that even we ourselves know will be how it ends?” he asked rhetorically, but Purna who chose to stay focused forward without the object being really noticed. The young man's hand grip strengthened on the steering wheel, until the veins of his arm were visible. Aika was not clueless about Purna's emotions, the girl just wanted to try to test how strongly Purna could refrain from exploding. “And if not the elo who sued me, we certainly can still be good friends as before.” Aika appealed in a soft voice. regretting Purna's decision that had been desperate to come to propose. He looked down, watching the phone screen darken on his lap. “If we can be good friends, of course we can certainly be good life friends too, right?”

“So, which ring do you want?” Purna returned the ring that had been requested to the salesman and chose to ask directly. “Serah!” Purna hid his disappointment behind a fake smile that he stuck on his lips, looking down on the salesman who had since noticed a strange couple unlike other couples. “Sorry, yes, Ma'am. My fiance candidate is rada ketus,” Purna told the salesperson, slowly, hoping Aika did not hear his words just now. The salesman just nodded small, not too willing to interfere in the affairs of the two customers in front of him. “Then, I take this one aja.” He pointed at the ring that had secretly caught Aika's attention, while Aika herself was no longer there. The girl went out first and waited outside the shop. Purna could only sigh shortly in the face of his behavior.
