Only One Heart

Only One Heart
Mama's crazy plan

The morning returned, bringing a golden beam of light from the eastern sky that was now beginning to rise. It was Purna, one of the riders who had to be patient with the Capital City gridlock on his first day of work, while the short needle in his black Rolex was already pointing at the number 8. I don't know how many times Purna cursed, even feel all the names of animals in the zoo has been absent so early, but his car has only moved no more than one kilometer since the last hour. Upset, Purna pressed the horn deeply and made a long shrill sound. To hell with other drivers who will be disturbed by his actions. Purna just cannot waste time sitting in the car without doing one thing. Just waiting! The phone that was plausible put on the dashboard of the car rang. One incoming call he received. From Marcus, his papa. Sighing long, shifted the green icon on the screen, then stick the white flat object to the right ear. “Where are you? What time is Purna!” a heavy blow from across the channel, cutting off the word ‘Halo’ that had been queuing at the end of Purna's lips, was about to say hello. Purna again sighed. His head began to heat up because of the traffic jam that never ended, plus had to get anger from Marcus, making his skull feel like it wanted to break.

“I'm still on the road, Pa. This terrible jam!” he held his tone so as not to raise his voice, still trying to be polite to the middle-aged man he should respect.

“Papa was waiting from yesterday, right? Not Jakata name if it does not jam, Purna!”

“Iya, Pa. Excuse me. Purnal oversaw the wake.” Once again, Purna pressed the horn button deeply, as an impingement from the growing annoyance piled up behind the chest. What Purna remembers, five years ago, Jakarta was not this chaotic. Ughhhh! Purna should not have to go back to Jakarta. Supposedly, he realized his wish that had thought to move citizenship only. But, Purna can what if Rasti does not approve! While in Jakarta, what can Purna get? Instead of getting freer, he should instead be the successor to the family restaurant Marcus built from zero to become as big as it is now. In fact, his strict father has managed to establish branch restaurants in several major cities in Indonesia. Purna himself wanted to become an accountant. After a long debate with Marcus, Purna finally agreed to be a successor, as long as it does not have to come into direct contact with the kitchen as Marcus has been doing. While Marcus wants the eldest son to be able to concoct restaurant recipes that have been the hallmark of their family's dining place. Until the father and son agree, Purna may not come into direct contact with kitchen spices, on condition that he must be able to get a wife who is good at cooking. Marcus doesn't want their secret family recipe passed down to just anyone who could be abusing his trust. So, if Purna is not willing to concoct his own secret spice from him, then Purna's wife must do. Stupidly, Purna agreed! He has no choice. His sister, Suci, certainly could not be expected. From the beginning, the final student had emphasized his desire to become an obstetrician. So, where can Purna get a wife like Marcus wants? While he himself knows, women today are more skillful to paint fingernails krimbang concoct seasoning.

“Halo, Purna? Did you hear what Papa said? Purna ..” Agt .. tit .... The sound of a horn that combined with Marcus's heavy tone jolted Purna's daydream, the young man was flabbergasted to see the car that had been lined up before him had moved forward, while the car in the back has begun to protest because the car is still not driving.

“Iya, pa. Purna. Yes, yes, Purna is still driving. Assalmualaikum.” Then, click! Purna turned off the connection without waiting for an answer from the papa.

“Siang, Dear ..” Purna was checking out the restaurant shopping list for the month when her voice was heard greeting her ears. He looked up briefly before returning to struggling with the numbers listed in the paper he was holding, he said,

“Hmm,” says lazy.

Rasti, who had not completely finished the kangen feeling towards the eldest son, smiled at the dikulum. Without permission, he stepped gracefully towards Purna's desk and sat across from her desk. Before opening the sound, Rasti cleared her throat first. Hitting the sound of a cough made by mama, suddenly Purna's feeling was not good. He knew there was something Rasti wanted to say, and it would definitely not be beneficial for him.

“Mmm, do you remember Shinta? His daughter Om Rudi in Bandung, lhooo. Mama met him at the mall yesterday. She's getting pretty you know, Pur. And said mamamnya, he really did cook!”

Purna gulped. As expected, Rasti's words practically made Purna lose concentration. Ever since Rasti learned of Marcus's terms regarding Purna's future wife, Rasti began to aggressively promote the girls of his friends. Making the head of Purna keliyengan own. His compact papa makes him almost crazy with all the things they just decide. No longer able to focus on the budget of spending on restaurant kitchen materials, Purna put the sheets of A4 that he had earlier held onto the table, then sighed looking at Rasti who stared back at him with eyes sparkling expectantly.

“Ma, Purna can still find his own wife, kok.” Purna refused subtly, not wanting to hurt the heart of Rasti who was willing to bother choosing a candidate for him.

“lagian Purna is young, Ma. Still 24 years. Don't rush, lah.” The sparkle that was looming in Rasti's eyes slowly dimmed. Purna who could not bear to see it could only scratch the nape.

“Mama, right, pingin cepet-cepet has a grandson, Pur. When do you want to get married? After the age of thirty? And when your child is active, you have gout and can not carry him.”

“Yes, not until thirty as well, anyway, Ma ...”

Purna has no reason, except he who is not ready to accept another girl in his life. Purna has only one heart, and the only heart he has is already stolen by someone. So, how did Purna learn to love again, if his heart was no longer his?

“Continue, when?” insist Rasti.

He had even advanced his body to stick to Purna's workbench, so that the son felt intimidated. Rasti knows, after all, he loves him very much, and he will take advantage of that affection so that Purna will grant what he wants. No, Rasti is not a selfish mother type. He just did not want to keep looking at Purna's sad face while being alone. Rasti knew that his son had an unfinished story in the past. And Rasti guess, it must be related to women. During this time Rasti only pretended to be stupid about the crisis that hit the son, because indeed Purna who never opened. But Rasti is still a mother, without full speech, of course she knows something is wrong with her son. And Rasti just wanted to help Purna to heal that wound. Wounds that only Full save themselves.

“Come,” replied Purna uncertainly.

“If you only know closer, want, right?”

“Ma!”

“Solence only mom!” Purna finally gave up. Arguing with Rasti and marcus is the same as talking to a rock. Both her parents were stubborn. Purna so surprised himself, how do they resolve the debate that has certainly ever happened in a household, if one of the two no one wants to give up?

“That's new name's son Mama.” Rasti smiled gleefully. Immediately he distanced his body from the Full desk, because his back began to feel pain due to too long bending, then threw himself on the back of the chair with a sigh of relief.

“And actually, Mama has made a promise with Shinta.” The middle-aged woman grinned the horse at the end of her sentence, which Purna greeted with a rude snort.

“From the beginning, Purna has no choice, right?” ask Purna rhetorically. He turned his back until he touched the back of the work chair, tapping Rasti who was still smiling horses with fingers that he taut in front of the chest.

“This is also for your good, kok.” Rasti said as he passed, his hand was busy stirring the branded bag that he had been holding back from earlier to look for a cellphone. After the flat object was already in his grasp, immediately Rasti opened the chat application to read something.

“The meeting will be tonight, yes. The Plaza Indonesia. The name of the restaurant will be Mama sms-in. Okay?” Rasti looked up from the phone screen, looking for certainty from Purna who now has a bloon look.

“Later malem?” sontak, Purna's back that was leaning comfortably on the back of the chair, back upright when he heard Rasti's words. The mother nodded innocently, not feeling guilty about the appointment he had agreed between Purna and the girl he said was named Shinta.

“Mama, Full ...” Purna is at a loss for words. This mother, really!

“Faster, better, right?” Purna wanted to refute, but the words he had prepared seemed to be swallowed back through the throat. All Purna could do was comb her hair back using her right hand by placing full emphasis on each fingertip. Hopefully the nerves that are protected behind the skull bones can still work as they should. Not necessarily crazy because of the middle-aged woman game he called ‘mama’.

“Aika ... Aika ..” Jessica shook Aika's body which was now coiled comfortably in the blanket. The new clock pointed to the number two noon, it was not time for Aika to wake up. But the shock felt on the shoulders, as if pulling the girl from the dream world in the subconscious. Aika groaned, the next second she opened the blanket from the end of the head and found the brother-in-law who had grinned the horse.

“Ugh, Jess!” Closing the blanket back all over her body, Aika tried to close her eyes, but it seemed that Jessica's annoying nosy nature was relapsing this afternoon. Aika's shoulders were again violently swayed by her.

“Aika, wake ...”

“Ampun, deh, Jess. I'm sleepy!” Aika immediately sat down. The blanket he was wearing earlier practically sagged into the stomach. Jessica, the bully, seemed innocent looking at Aika's beaver face at this moment. He put on his best smile before opening his voice.

“Later to melt, follow me to Plaza Indonesia, yes?” It felt, Aika wanted to scratch the wall instead. Jessica takes her to Plaza Indonesia later that night, and wakes Aika up in broad daylight. This what the fuck?

“Sorry, I can't!” he couldn't help but speak rudely. Jessica really made her life unsettled since a week ago. Since the doctor declared herself pregnant, and since Bang Riko with as good as her udel invited Jessica to stay at their parents' house for the sake of the continuity of the baby.

“Yeah, Aika really, same me ...” Hhh .. If until Jess is found crying from inside her room, the address she will not live quietly after this. So he has to give up again.

“Ok .. ok .... See later, yes!” not promised, but. Continue in the heart.

“Still, yes.” Jessica said excitedly. He approached Aika's face and gave a flash on her cheek, before running out of her room.

“Ish! The boy!”
