"No son, you have a husband. So serve your husband first, put it first" Papa smiled.
Jihan glanced at the husband. Arga smiled his happy smile.
Arga why smile like that?
Feeling surprised because from earlier mas Arga continued to smile indistinctly.
Then Jihan turned her hand to grab the plate and started scooping the rice onto the Arga plate.
"So this is enough?"
"It's pretty dear" he said.
Bu Nur and Mr. Toha looked at each other. Both of them were hiding smiles behind their surprised faces.
Ha's? Did Arga call you darling? Last night the deal wasn't so big!
Jihan laughed awkwardly, then looked at Arga with annoyed glaring eyes. Arga slightly chuckled at the expression on Jihan's face that was met with red.
After that they continued the breakfast. Everyone ate food on their own plates. Only the clangs of spoons were heard rubbing against each other with plates.
Suddenly the voice of a stranger shook the dining room.
"I'm home!" Said a boy who sounded cold. He is Haikal, the son of the bontot in the Arga family.
"Goddess!" Excited mama.
All eyes were on the figure of Haikal, the cold and indifferent boy. Jihan only caught a glimpse then turned her gaze away.
I finally met this shitty kid.
Lazy to look long into the face of the boy who is in reality now a sister-in-law.
"How are you, ma? Pa?" Haikal kissed his parents' hands.
"Dear, are you alone?" Ask mama.
"Hmm well," while nodding his head.
"Haikal want to go home why not tell papa? Can be picked up."
Let the son sit.
"I can go home alone Pa, besides I'm not a kindergarten boy anymore who doesn't know the way home." Reply with a flat face.
Haikal is still not aware if now his family members increase by one, he saw a glimpse towards the brother.
While Arga is indifferent, some time lately his relationship with Haikal is a little not good.
Haikal sat on the chair opposite Arga, only to realize that someone else had joined the table.
Haikal looked flat at Jihan, his brain trying to re-recal, who was the figure sitting across from Arga.
"Lo's? Why sit here?" Ketus Haikal's.
My mother replied, "Ohh Haikal. I'm sorry we haven't introduced a new family member to you, son," said Mama.
"family members? What does this mean?"
Arga cut off her mama talk.
"Before I wanted to introduce him first, he is Jihan next door neighbor of our house, surely you have seen him too. She was also your upperclassman at school and now she's my wife, we're married."
Haikal's face was shocked, what he had been missing so far that he did not know anything of this magnitude.
"Married? Why didn't anyone tell me?"
"Don't not tell but you yourself don't care about your family and don't want to know, either" Arga replied.
Haikal clucked in annoyance. His eyes stared cynically at jihan.
What do you think I am?
''I mean, what does Arga say?''
Arga put the spoon onto the plate until it sounded a rather loud twang.
''Try to think, you have your own family and home but instead live in someone else's house.''
''Not everyone else, they are the same as Mama and papa, '' haikal defended om and his aunt.
''Hey boy! why such a storm in front of the old man. Stop papa not wanting to hear you guys fight again.''
"Looks I don't really matter anymore" The look on his face began to be clearly drawn on Haikal's face.
Jihan who was in an awkward position was a little unpleasant to feel if she was the trigger of this uproar.
"Son, that's not what we mean. This marriage is sudden, just yesterday your brother got married. Don't talk like that." Mom said calming.
"Ckk, this big thing I don't know, can it still be called family?'' Haikal stared in annoyance at Jihan. As if to raise the flag of war. "I don't like him anyway. He's smart to look for face!"
Hey you little rancid, damn you talk like that same me. Just look I'll squeeze your mouth out later.
"See, talk Haikal!" Papa shouted.
"Don't call my wife that, you better shut up!" Arga's tone began to get upset. From now on he tried to be patient but when it comes to his wife he could not stay silent.
"Why? Not accept yes? It's true he's like that. Do you know how he was at school? Two-faced!" Haikal still did not close his mouth.
"Goddess!" Excited the mother with a tone of annoyance. "She's your sister-in-law, please respect her!"
"For what honor dishonorable women! I don't want to consider her a sister-in-law at all!"
Jihan squeezed the end of the tablecloth that slipped into her lap.
Inner Jihan. He could not speak up because he still understood this condition.
Hearing that Arga did not accept it, he stood up while pounding the table. Then tightly gripped the collar of the clothes worn Haikal.
"I'm patient enough to face you Haikal. I can't be quiet anymore if you bring my wife. Your words can never be kept. Always saying something stupid! I give you lightening. Apologize to him now! Or don't just go don't come home!"
Threat Arga. His eyes stared hard at the sister. Haikal just kept quiet. Emotions have taken hold of her, making her think that everything that happens to her heart is the cause of Jihan. The woman is the one who made herself to be obeyed by her brother. All this contradiction is because of Jihan. Her thought.
Why is it so bad Arga to Haikal? What is the problem I don't know about? Shouldn't the brothers love each other. It's not fighting like this and it looks like there's an old, unfinished grudge. Yes, even though I was really upset because of Haikal's mouth.
Inner Jihan guessed by herself.
"Arga's enough!" Papa. "You don't fight anymore, Haikal better apologize to your sister-in-law. It's a dinner we get together like this. No hostility."
"Mas Arga is enough, right said papa. It's okay if he can't accept me yet, it's all too sudden. Give him time. Maybe I can take it."
Jihan spoke up when she could no longer bear to see a family that wanted to fight.
Arga released the clutches of his hand.
"Haikal better apologize, son." Pinta mom.
Haikal stared cynically at Jihan. "No will! Until whenever I don't want to accept him!"
"Goddess!" Excited father in a little wait.
"Then just get out of here!" Tekas Arga's.
Angry emotions increasingly dominate the cold boy, already know the personality cold and haughty. Precisely cornered by his family members makes Haikal more vengeful on Jihan, the cause of himself the corner is like this.
"Cihh, just for her sake you guys got cornered like this? I don't think you guys ever cornered me before like this. And this is the worst, okay if that's what you want. I chose to leave and won't be back here again."
Haikal stood up from his seat, staring sinisterly at Jihan.
Because of you I got kicked out with my own brother, wait for what I will do. You hypocritical woman. Inner Haikal.
"Where are you going? Don't go, son," stop mama.
"Haikal's sitting back at your place, Haikal!" Call papa.
But Haikal did not care about it and continued to leave the dining room.
"Arga stop your sister, son, you've gone too far. Hurry up and stop him" Mama panicked. He knew his son's habits. Haikal would never mess with his words if he said that then he would.
"Let him introspect, let him learn to think mature, '' replied Arga upset.
Jihan felt bad, early in the morning which should be filled by harmony can breakfast together with a complete family just ended like this. And surely Haikal was holding a grudge against him. Judging from his habits like that, he definitely thought negatively of Jihan.
"You shouldn't be so rude to Haikal, kid, look he's really mad at us" she said.
"Once in a while, teach him Ma's lesson, he's all grown up. But it's still hard to manage. I wouldn't be if Haikal didn't start first."
"After all, she's gone too far to bring my wife. I don't accept his attitude."
"It's true, son, but you shouldn't be yelling at him that hard. You even played hands. Must be thinking by now that Haikal doesn't care about him anymore."
Mama was worried, her face was instantly sweet.
"Why don't you forgive your sister Ga? Papa is tired of your disputes. You're brothers and you as an older brother should understand."
Arga shut up and sat back down.
He held his wife's hand, "I'm sorry this morning made you uncomfortable."
Jihan bowed, she returned Arga's hand. Maybe later I will ask if there is a conflict with Haikal.
*****
After the incident this morning, Jihan decided to go home to her mother. Want to know the condition of the mother.
Jihan turned the unlocked door algae, "where's mother? The house is not locked but deserted."
Jihan stepped foot into the mother's room. The shadow of the dark memories with the father reappeared. But Jihan steeled herself so as not to dissolve in sadness.
"Mother!" Jihan exclaimed when she saw the mother was moody in the room while hugging the wedding photo.
"Nim? Already home, here sit." I patted the bed next to him.
Jihan approached, "is mom okay?"
"Mother is fine, Nim," while removing the remaining tears.
"Eat already?" Jihan.
She nodded, "then she had eaten. You been?"
"Yes it's Mom," Jihan smiled.
"How do you stay with Arga? Comfortable?" Mom put down the picture frame she was holding
"Yes Ma'am, Arga mas family is good. We had breakfast together, "Jihan preferred to cover the debate with the haikal this morning. So that her mother would not worry.
"Thank God, I'm glad to hear that." Smilingly.
"Mom, in the future maybe I'll come live with my husband. Mama's okay? Or I'm moving in with us."
"No need Nim, I'm still comfortable here. This part of the house is left by my father, so I have to look after it." Mother stared blankly at his gaze circulating down the corner of the room space.
Too many memories have occurred here with her late husband, albeit briefly. But making beautiful memories is hard to forget.
"I understand Mom," Jihan hugged her mother
Mother returned her embrace, "then if you miss mom, you can also stay here, yes."
"Yes ma'am, I won't leave you far away, I love you" then Jihan peeped her mother's cheek.
