Jane gets ready, she gets out of her room, then comes down to enjoy breakfast.
"Mom..." Jane greets Oma Widya with a smile that expands at the corner of her lips.
"Jane, are you a job interview today?" asked the Oma when she noticed the appearance of her granddaughter who was so neat and beautiful behind the black-and-white uniform she wore.
"Yes, Oma, pray for me yes, hopefully I get away with it," Jane said excitedly and cheerfully.
Then Ani Ma'am also commented, "Well, Non Jane looks very beautiful, surely Non was immediately chosen as the best candidate." Ani sees the potential that exists in Jane.
Jane smiled, behind the attitude of her bar bar, she could still show the sweet and graceful side that impressed people.
"Amin, Ms. Ani, pray for me yes" Jane replied while eating a tuna sandwich that was made by Ms. Ani for her.
After that, Jane got up from her seat, then returned to tidying up her uniform.
"Everything, I'm off, yeah," said Jane, sounding the footsteps of the pantofel shoes she was wearing.
He got out of the house, then climbed into his favorite car parked in the front yard.
Not to forget, he rearranged the makeup on his face. Jane grabbed a small square mirror from the bag, and she pointed it right at her face, and she felt something was missing.
He re-opened his bag, after which looked for a lipstick suitable for his appearance this time.
She always carries some makeup, especially lipstick with various types and colors for preparation.
"Ah, I'll just wear this one." Jane took out a nude-colored lipstick to beautify her tiny lips.
So, before speeding, he wore it first.
"Perfect!" he murmured when he added color to his lips.
He then gasped, and immediately headed for the company.
His heart beat was racing faster than usual, as it was the first time he would have a job interview.
Jane exhaled a heavy breath, instantly her palm turned cold.
"Don't be nervous Jane, relax," he murmured inwardly occasionally shutting both his eyes short to dispel the groggy feeling.
Suddenly, he had to stop the speed of his car at the intersection, because of the red light.
Amidst the gerogi feeling that enveloped him, he stared at the car window.
On the streets there are entertainment actions of clown costumes that are swaying, ranging from costumes Doraemon, Boboboy, Naruto and so forth.
In another corner, he saw the action of a silver man by walking around like a robot while carrying a box made of cardboard.
Jane opened the windshield a little, then advanced slowly. He gave some money to those who approached.
Not stopping there, suddenly a man dressed as a woman approached him, then played a musical instrument that resembled a lute. However, he slung on his shoulder wearing a rope.
The half-man woman began to sing in a nasal voice while kicking. "Kewer, kewer, kewer, ambyar.." that's the lyrics he sings, the song he makes and creates himself to find a mouthful of rice.
The action made Jane laugh. He listened to the song until the end, after which he offered the money to the half-man woman, making her very excited and grateful for Jane's kindness.
After the traffic lights had turned green, Jane again continued her journey through the city of Bandung which began to be crowded on Monday morning.
It didn't take long, he arrived at his destination safely.
When she arrives at the company, Jane parks her car carefully and checks herself once again in the rearview mirror. He wanted to make sure his appearance remained perfect before entering the office building.
Jane stepped into the company with steady steps. A receptionist greeted him, and he gave his name and purpose to the interview. The receptionist kindly gave a hint, then he said, "wait a minute, Mom, I have to contact the HRD Division."
Jane nodded, then she sat down on the sofa available in the lobby.
Jane sat in the lobby feeling increasingly nervous as she looked at the nine other candidates. They all look serious and gather in tense silence, each in competition to become Private Secretary Jonathan aka Joe.
Shortly after Jane and the other candidates gathered in the company lobby, Timothi, the Head of HRD Division, appeared. With great authority, he faced all the candidates head-on, adding a bit of tension in the room.
"You guys want to get interviewed right now, huh?" timothi asked firmly, and all the candidates replied in unison, "Yes, sir."
Timothi then guides them up to the 2nd floor, where the interview will take place. There, the candidates will be met by Timothi and Amel, the HRD assistant.
After arriving at the 2nd floor, they were called one by one for an interview in Timothi's room. Amel, who assisted in the process, called the first candidate firmly, "Alea Rismaya."
Alea got up from her seat with steady steps, then she walked towards the door of Timothi's room. Behind those doors, he is ready to face the questions and judgments that will determine his fate in the company.
"Excuse me," he said in a soft voice as he entered the room. Timothi greeted him with a smile and invited him to sit down. Jane tried to stay calm even though her heart was still pounding.
The interview went well. Timothi asks challenging questions. However, Jane was able to answer him without making any significant mistakes. He gives convincing answers and shows the knowledge and skills he has.
Next, Timothi gives Jane instructions to stand up straight. He was asked to introduce himself using three languages according to company requirements, namely Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Mandarin.
Jane rose up confidently, and smoothly, she introduced herself in all three languages. He provides brief information on his background, experience, and skills, demonstrating impressive multilingual skills.
After the self-presentation was over, Jane sat back down with the hope that her good performance would leave a positive impression on the interview panel.
After the interview process was completed, the prospective Personal Secretary Jonathan was asked to wait for the toughest decision. They sit in suspense, hoping that their efforts will yield positive results.
Meanwhile, in the room, Timothi and Amel are deliberating to determine who is worthy of being Secretary Jonathan. They have different views, and this discussion becomes important to decide who will get the role.
Amel began by giving his opinion, "I'm a good fit for Alea, she seems smart and has a good initiative." Amel judged the skills and uniqueness Alea possessed, and he was confident that Alea was the right candidate.
However, Timothi argues otherwise, "If in my opinion, it seems that Jenifer Jane is smarter, especially the Mandarin she mastered is very fluent. Isn't that what Jonathan needs?" Timothi paid more attention to Jane's ability in Mandarin, which is a special qualification needed in the role.
Amel was disappointed that Timothi did not have the same opinion as him. He felt that Alea was the better choice, however, he found it difficult to influence Timothi's decision.
Timothi and Amel continued to discuss, trying to find common ground. Eventually, Amel relented, "Hmm, yeah, whatever!" He accepted that sometimes dissent was inevitable, and the final decision was on Timothi.
After intensive discussion, Timothi and Amel walked out of the decision room to meet the waiting candidates anxiously. They stood in front of the would-be Private Secretary Jonathan with a serious attitude.
Timothi began to say, "We have carefully considered all the candidates present today, and we would like to thank all of you for your participation."
The tension between the candidates began to taper off, and all of them waited with choked breaths.
"However," Timothi continued with a warm smile, "we can only choose one candidate, and the person chosen is 'Jenifer Jane'."
Jane can't hide her joy. He was very grateful and smiled happily while thanking Timothi and Amel. While he celebrated his success, the other nine candidates had to swallow a bitter pill for their failure back then.
Timothi reached out his hand and shook Jane's hand. "Congratulations, Jenifer," he said sincerely.
Amel also greeted Jane kindly, "Jenifer, I say welcome to join our company."
Timothi again invited Jane to his private room to speak seriously.
"Jenifer, since you were elected as Secretary of Mr. Jonathan, then today you are also assigned to Jakarta," said Timothi, Jane inevitably had to follow his instructions.
Because to get into the company takes a struggle, and only lucky people.
"I will carry out this task with all my heart and dedication" Jane said with determination.
Timothi smiled in satisfaction, "That's it, Jenifer. I hope you'll give it your best."
"So, today I also have to go to Jakarta to visit the headquarters?" Jane asked again to convince.
"Yes" replied Timothi.
Afterwards, Jane exited the office building, with a confused face.
Jane pocketed the address of the head office in Jakarta. "Duh, does that mean I have to pack up and ask Oma for permission to go to Jakarta?" muttered Jane. Without thinking much, he went back to the parking lot and drove his car and wanted to return home because he had to prepare some clothes that he would bring to live in Jakarta.
Joe, who is the superior of the newly elected Secretary candidate, is curious and wants to get the news firsthand. He contacted Timothi by phone.
"Hello Timo," he said in a stern voice as Timothi answered his call.
"Yes sir" Timothi replied respectfully.
Joe went straight to the core, "Have you chosen a Secretary for me?"
Timothi nodded, though Joe could not see it. "Already sir, I think my choice is right. I have also told him to leave for Jakarta soon today."
Joe listened seriously. "All right, thank you. Remember, Timo, don't let me down with your choice!" warning firmly.
Timothi was tense but believed in his choice. "I'll make sure everything goes according to plan, sir. He's a very qualified candidate."
Jane doesn't know who she's gonna be dealing with.
Prepare Jane! haha....
