Feeling Useless

William came back first from Marine because he wanted to go home to rest because of a slightly aching head. No matter what time Marien will be back she has no idea let alone Marien must be busy with the new company he gave her.

It was Marien who helped her to take a bath, of course after her marriage to Marien and today, she wants to do it alone because she should not rely on a woman. After all he could do it while at home but because of his narrow bathroom made the wiggle room he had a little so that made it difficult.

William had been in the bathroom long enough, one leg had been lowered and now one leg was again. He wanted to try to get out of the wheelchair to move. She often does but the narrow bathroom and not equipped with amenities make it difficult. William's sitting back, damn it. Both legs were hit hard, now he was completely useless and helpless.

Marien just got back. The door that was not locked left him astonished. Marien thought there was a thief but after seeing William's shoes made her smile because her husband was back. The food she brought was stored on the table before entering the room but William's swearing from the bathroom shocked Marien.

"Wiliam, are you inside?" ask Marien who is already in front of the bathroom.

"Yeah" replied William, who felt more and more useless because he had just fallen.

"What are you doing? Can I come in?"

"Yeah, sure!" I don't want to rely on Marien anymore. Though today he wanted to try himself but he was really useless.

Marien threw her bag on the bed before going into the bathroom. The door opened slowly, Marien peered inside, and was surprised to find William sitting on the floor.

"What's going on?" Marien went inside quickly to see the state of her husband.

"What happened to you? Why are you sitting on the floor?" Marien looked panicked, the wheelchair pushed away so she could help William.

"I'm useless, Marien!" it feels shameful and useless. It was only fitting that Fiona dumped herself after seeing the circumstances. Fiona would definitely not bother taking care of a disabled man like her.

"What are you saying, why don't you wait for me?" Marien was already crouching, he should not look at William with a pitiful look as it could hurt William's feelings.

"I just want to try it myself, Marien. I can't always count on you!" William looked at her, he wanted to see if Marien would look at her with a contemptuous look like Fiona's gaze back then, a gaze that she would never forget but Marien did not see it that way. Marien smiled and rubbed her shoulders as she always did.

"But you have to. We're husband and wife, I promised to serve you as your wife even if the rest of you didn't so you'd have to wait for me and rely on me."

"What about when we're separated? Am I still counting on you?"

"Of course not but I'm sure before that time you'll be able to walk. You must have been looking for a doctor who can cure your leg, right?"

"I'm looking for him."

"If so, believe me if both your legs will heal. Now I'll help you!" Marien held onto both of William's arms as he would help William to get up from the cold floor. Marien pulled William as hard as he could but the man was quite heavy.

"Oh, God. Why are you so heavy?"

"Go, I can do it myself!" said William.

"I can definitely. One. two..!" Marien pulled with all his might but his legs slipped from being too excited. Marien was surprised, William was the same especially because it made Marien fall towards him. William captures Marien's body. Both of William's eyes bulged as Marien's chest landed right on his face. He could even hear Marien's heart pounding loudly.

"Good God, I'm sorry!" Marien was about to step aside, but William hugged her.

"Now we're both like fools!"

"I'm sorry, I should've gotten you."

"Hey!" Marien pushes William and looks at his face, he doesn't like William always saying that.

"Don't say that, I don't like it. I don't think of you that way. Instead of giving up like this, it's better to think positively of both your legs."

"I do it every day."

"If so, I think the battery you have is gone, so you're desperate like this!" Marien rubbed William's hair back and landed his kiss on William's forehead.

"Have you got it?"

"It looks like you haven't given it anywhere else!" said William.

"Okay, you're really a king of zombies!" Marien gives a kiss somewhere else. Although only a kiss on the forehead and cheeks but the kiss given by Marien made William feel better.

"Thank you, Marien. Though I came home quickly wanting to greet you without any hassle but what happened, you are already tired of working but you also have to help me!" William hugged her tightly, being able to meet a sincere woman like Marien was a fortune.

"No need to say that, now I'll help you. It's not good to sit too long on a cold floor!" This time Marien went up from William's lap and helped him in a different way. Although a little difficult because of the weight but Marien managed to help William.

"What about your father? Is she okay?" William asked because he wanted to know if Marian was getting any more insults from her brother or not.

"It's fine but Alexa is suspicious of both of us as the perpetrators who have embarrassed her. He wants to find evidence of whether or not we were both involved with the incident."

"Then, what does he want to do after he finds out?"

"I think you know, William. He definitely won't let go of the two of us much less that incident really embarrassed him greatly."

"No need to worry about it, he won't find anything!"

"You sure?" marien asked while looking at him.

"Trust me, Marien. As long as you're still my wife then I won't let anyone touch you so trust me!"

"You're saying that you're useless but real? You're very useful, William. Even I didn't marry you to take advantage of you so far. I just wanted to be free from that marriage but I dragged you so far but you still consider yourself useless. For me you're the perfect man I've ever known even though your legs are unusable. It's not the most important because the most important thing is your heart and sincerity!"

Marien stepped away to pick up the towel, while William smiled without taking his eyes off Marien. What else could he say? Marien is a woman who is so unexpected at all and overly praises a foolish man who is fooled by the love given by a woman in an innocent manner. True what Marien said, the most important thing is the heart because the appearance can be deceiving.

"Why look at me like that?" marien asked because William still did not take his eyes off her.

"I feel grateful to have met you" replied William.

"Thank you, but I still have shortcomings especially what I am doing at this time in accordance with the agreement we did!"

"That's better, at least you didn't cheat me!"

"Alright," Marien crouched down to dry both of William's legs and placed them on the foot of the wheelchair. At least they are aware of what they are doing because they are indeed doing the agreement for a benefit of themselves and during that time, he would still serve William as his wife but not in a relationship according to what they promised.
