The sun is shining so beautifully. It radiates the light of life to every people on earth. This morning I was wearing a typical interview dress: a white shirt and a knee-length black skirt. Don't forget I wear heels five inches to increase my confidence.
Dad was waiting for me at the dinner table. It is a tradition that our breakfast should always be together. Mbok Siti has cooked my favorite fried rice and eggplant. Not to forget there is sweet tea.
Thank you Mbok Siti for this simple but always my favorite dish.
“Julia, the night Om Gerald and his son came to see you. Why don't you want to see them?” Just now I was sitting Dad was talking about an arranged marriage with his friend's son.
“Dad, I'm not ready to meet him yet. At least I have to have a job so that later would not be expected to live with Dad,”.
“Meet and get acquainted first. Suitable or not suitable is a later affair. Fully if you don't fit in with Him Daddy won't force it,” he said again.
“Iya, later if I am ready to meet him, I will tell Dad,” I replied.
On the sidelines of the conversation of his father and daughter, suddenly Devan comes. Because indeed He always comes early in the morning to prepare all the needs of Father. He smiled as friendly as ever and greeted us.
“Good morning Mister and Miss!” his smile depicted curved lips and dimples on both cheeks.
“Again,” reply me short.
Don't smile at me that way. I'm afraid to be an actor. Forget the one who belongs to someone else.
“Van, have breakfast together!” take Dad and pull Devan to sit next to him.
“Please enjoy breakfast, Sir. Sorry I had breakfast,” minus it smooth.
Yaiyalah yes He must have breakfast already had a wife who provides breakfast for him. I'm sensitive when I talk about him.
“Good then. Married people should always eat at home. Don't disappoint your wife who has prepared food for you,”
Ah Dad made me want to get out of here faster.
“Yes, Sir,” Devan stays behind on Dad's right.
I sipped the sweet tea that was in front of me until it was not there. And take the dirty dishes and put them in the sink.
“I go first, Dad,” saying goodbye while kissing Dad's hand.
“Hopefully succeeded, Son,”
“Aamiin,”
“Be careful on the road, Miss,” I ogled the owner of that voice and nodded.
All I want is your heart Devan, hiks.
The roads are getting crowded with vehicles. Frenetic noise roar engine racing to fill the journey. I hope I'm not late.
Everyone is racing against time to their destination. School, work, to the market, they seem excited.
G&g Group's. This ten-story tall building is a new place for me to work. I'm pretty sure I'll be accepted into this company.
I parked the car in the basement and headed for the elevator. The beautiful receptionist dressed in shades of ash and black with neatly styled hair and slightly thick makeup greeted me kindly upon reaching the lobby.
“Good morning, anything we can help?” said friendly.
“I Julia Marsha. Will be a job interview with Mr. Ardian,” explained me.
“Good, please wait in the waiting room on the right. Later we will call if it is time,” he explained while showing the waiting room mentioned.
“Thanks.” I saw the watch was seven past fifty minutes. I'll just wait another ten minutes.
Not long after someone had just arrived. Everyone who passed him bowed and greeted him. The man replied to all of those people politely and kindly.
I was stunned to see everyone respected him so much. He remained friendly to his subordinates and that made him more authoritative.
I looked towards that voice. A neat-looking man was sitting staring at the glass window beside him. It looks like he'll be interviewing just like me.
After being satisfied staring out through the glass window he turned his gaze to me.
“What will you do for a job interview?” tanyakanya.
“Iya. Are you the same?” I replied, ask back.
“Aaku?” He pointed at the tip of his nose with his index finger.
I nodded in agreement. “No. I have a little business here,” he replied.
“Nona Julia Marsha!” Call the receptionist who asked me to wait.
“Iya.”
“Let's come with me!” orders again.
I immediately stood up and just nodded my head and smiled briefly at the man who had just spoken to me. He responded with the same action.
I was ushered into a room like a small meeting room and ordered to fill out some psychotes for interview requirements. It turns out that today there is only me who will interview in this company. Good thing, at least I don't have a rival to work here.
After completing the psychotes and waiting for about ten minutes, a man came and introduced himself as HR Manager at this company, Mr. Ardian. He immediately asked some basic questions that are commonly asked in interview sessions.
I can answer that without hesitation and I'm very confident that I can be accepted to work for this company.
“Alright, Miss Julia. Congratulations you are accepted to work and can directly work in our company today as well,” he explained which made me cheer in my heart.
It turned out that I could work here so soon.
“You will work as a Secretary as well as a personal assistant deputy director. Let me take you to your workplace I'll introduce you to your deputy director of superiors,”.
I followed Mr. Ardian into the elevator to the top floor of this building to the room of the deputy director in question. Can I be an assistant vice-director?
From my previous work experience, I served as a marketing manager. Very far from my job this time.
Hopefully, my boss this time a good person, not arrogant, diligent saving, who must remain authoritative like the man I saw in the lobby of the owner of this company.
The elevator door opened with my heart pounding, I had to be ready to meet my new boss. My hands feel cold and sweaty when I'm groggy. Mr. Ardian opened a door above which read the room of the deputy director. This means the room.
A table forms the letter L with a monitor screen on it that I first saw when the door opened. Ah looks like it'll be my desk later. A few steps ahead a large table with a set of sofas in front of it and someone was sitting back to us there.
Edward Anggara's. A name inscribed with a classic engraving on the table of the deputy director. From the name alone it is certain He is the son of the owner of this company.
“Master, I'll introduce your new secretary,” Mr. Ardian's voice breaks the silence.
The chair turned slowly towards the direction the voice had just sounded. My eyes were round reflexively closing my mouth that would gap to see who was behind my chair.
Wasn't he the man I was talking to in the waiting room this morning?
Epilogue :
Edward called his HRD manager into the room. He handed a map to his subordinate.
"Interview him according to procedure. After that accept him as my assistant," he said, and the manager nodded obediently and walked out of Edward's room.
Edward smiled as he imagined the woman he met being lobbied. However, the smile was swayed by the sound of the phone ringing.
"Do as we plan!" the voice of someone on the phone is none other than his papa Gerald.
Edward took a deep breath after closing his papa call.
