Bonchap - Duncan and Rhea Blair

Staten Island, NY

Shailendra comes to the Blair family mansion for the umpteenth time. When she entered the office, Kaia Blair's secretary O'Grady told her to come to Duncan's residence on Staten Island. Shailendra was given permission not to enter one day after another into Opa Reana and Abi's house.

After the housekeeper allowed entry, Shailendra sat in the living room of the mansion. Shortly, Duncan came out with Rhea, holding hands. The two couples who are not young anymore are famous for their affection since childhood.

"Good morning, Mr. Duncan, Ms. Rhea" said Shailendra, greeting the two.

"Sit Shailendra" Duncan said as he sat on the sofa with Rhea, his wife who he had claimed to be in the air. Even Duncan and Edward, his Daddy, used to fight with his father-in-law to get Rhea. ( Read Married My Best Friend's Husband and My Rey ).

"What did Mr. Duncan call me here?" shailendra asked confused.

"Are you really against Pandu's relationship with Reana?" asked Duncan without a stale base.

Shailendra was surprised but he nodded in affirmation.

"Why?" tanya Rhea is anxious considering that this morning Kaia told me that Reana wants to meet Shailendra to fight for her relationship with Pandu. Rhea just asks Kaia and Rhett not to interfere because Shailendra is the person who pulled Duncan from Jakarta to New York.

Does Shailendra not know our family well? Did he forget what we were like?

"I.. just don't want Pandu to get hurt..."

"Wound guide? Why?" duncan asked with his baritone voice. "Shailendra, don't you understand who we are?"

"I..." Shailendra.

"Who will harm Pandu?" rhea was confused.

"Rey, it looks like Shailendra has something that makes him think like that" Duncan said to his wife.

"Tell us, Shailendra, what are you afraid of? Or do you have a problem with us?" Rhea stared intently at Shailendra.

"I'm sorry if I had to tell Mr. Duncan and Ms. Rhea why I was a little too extreme to protect Pandu, because I didn't want Pandu to experience what I was going through." Shailendra looked at Duncan and Rhea a little scared.

"What happened to you Ndra? Aren't you happy to be married to your wife and have two capable children?" Duncan looked at Shailendra with a confused look.

"I was in Pandu's position, loving a girl who was also from the Sultan's family. I'm just the son of a farmer and work in the company of the girl's father. I fell in love half-dead with my boss's son but when I ventured to propose, I only got insulted the moment I came along with my very simple parents. Especially when his extended family found out I was only the son of a farmer and was considered not a level, they were increasingly insulting. Maybe if it insulted me, I could still accept but these are my parents that they insult."

Shailendra's eyes looked teary. "My mother got home having a stroke, Mr. Duncan, Ms. Rhea. And from that moment on I promised myself that if I had a son and experienced something like me, I would ban him because I didn't want my son to be insulted like I used to be. Finally I left the company and was accepted at MB Enterprise Jakarta branch. I met my current wife and I can work with my father in New York."

Duncan and Rhea looked at each other.

"Shailendra..."

"Yes sir."

"You know Eiji Reeves?" ask Duncan. "You know Ghani Giandra?"

Duncan nodded. "Do you know who besan them?"

Shailendra shook his head.

"My brother-in-law, Ghani Giandra has two children, Bara and Danisha. Bara is a former diplomat but Danisha is married to a simple man. Iwan, Danisha's husband, is an orphan. His mother only sells grocery stores and batik in front of his house."

Shailendra.

"Eiji Reeves's. What do you know about my cousin?"

"He's a legendary pianist, sir" Shailendra replied. "Former owners of famous artist agencies in Japan and Asia."

"Do you know who's made of him? Yanti, Levi's wife, is the son of a satay seller in the Mojosongo area of Solo."

Shailendra looked at Duncan with a look of disbelief. "But Mr. Duncan, is..."

"Are we ashamed? Not at all! We are not allergic to ordinary people as long as that person passes our family screening. Indeed our niece happened to be married to the son of a famous family but we were not allergic to commoners. Danisha prefers to live in a simple house with Iwan and his mother along with Ega his son even though Danisha's position is higher than Iwan."

"So Shailendra, your fear is unwarranted when it comes to our family. Our family's not like your ex's, we're different." Rhea smiled gently.

"I am a descendant of Pratomo and from the era of great-grandchildren, up to the generation of my grandchildren, it was displayed for us to insult others. Because we don't know the wheel of life is spinning. Don't always look up, look down. It could be the person you despise, tomorrow it will surpass you. We never know the scenario of Allah SWT and what we have to do must do good with anyone be it a friend or an opponent. So Shailendra, do not forbid Pandu's relationship with Reana. They both love each other and I assure you, we all love Pandu, let alone Kaia praising your son's performance in Surabaya." Duncan smiled at his staff.

"But Mr. Duncan, is it worth remembering that Pandu is only a child of ordinary people while Miss Reana, the proud daughter of the O'Grady family and your grandchild." Shailendra is still not convinced.

"Ndra, if asked properly, deserves a handsome, intelligent, kind and adoring Pandu Reana. We see more of her inner beauty. Don't suppose a man doesn't have his inner beauty, there is!"

"Inner handsome looks like a fitting, bang" Rhea smiled.

"Well that's right, inner handsome" cluck Duncan. "Look Shailendra, Pandu is the result of your upbringing, not a neko-neko man, hardworking as you are. He can prove to Kaia and Levi, how he is responsible for the job given. You know yourself is Giandra Automotive Co Surabaya collapsed? And Pandu can solve his problems within a year and it's not easy because he has to overhaul all of his management ranks. Even he bravely threw out all those incompetent and unprofessional people when he had only two months in office there."

"Never underestimate Pandu, Shailendra. I know he's a hard-working kid and also stubborn. Didn't he have determined that if you continue to insist on opposing his relationship with Reana, he will come by himself to propose to my granddaughter right?" rhea's smile. "Aren't you sad to see your son do something?"

"Reana is the one who asked Pandu to still take you as his parents to come to propose even though your son is still stubborn. Ndra, your son is all grown up and it's time you gave way to happiness to the woman of his choice. I assure you, Pandu is indeed Reana's soul mate" Duncan continued.

Shailendra was speechless listening to Duncan and Rhea.
