“You are really beautiful, Ramona,” praise the man.
Hearing Edgar's voice, Ramona realizes that the man looking at her from behind the mirror is not Austin.
Ramona immediately dismissed her own thoughts. At times like this she should concentrate on Edgar as her future husband. But it was Austin's shadow that always appeared in his mind.
Could it be that the innocent figure of Austin had managed to steal some of his heart? If so, it means that what Edgar is accusing of has come true. Could it be that he had cursed Edgar in his mind. No, he must not remember any man other than Edgar.
“This dress is perfect for you, dear. I agree if you wear it on our wedding day,” Edgar said with a look of admiration.
Christie who saw Edgar's sudden appearance immediately rebuked the man.
“Edgar, take your eyes off now from Ramona. It is not good for a groom to see his future wife wearing a wedding dress before the wedding day,” Christie scolds.
Edgar chuckled, hearing a reprimand from Christie's mouth. She thinks Christie is like an old grandmother who believes in superstition.
“What you say is just an unproven superstition. Wherever I might be able to take my eyes off the beauty of Ramona,” argued Edgar.
Edgar walked over to Ramona. He was about to ask about the tuxedo he was going to wear, whether it was suitable or not.
“Honey, is this tuxedo good for me?” edgar asked while showing a black tuxedo attached to his body.
“Good,” Ramona replied briefly.
Getting approval from Ramona, Edgar was steady to make his choice on the tuxedo.
“Mrs Christie, then I take this dress and tuxedo. I will pay it off now,” Edgar said.
“Okay, Edgar. My assistant will help you make the payment.”
Puffing his chest, Edgar walked towards the cashier. He wants Ramona to know that he is a man who has a lot of money. Can't compare to the stupid Austin who has nothing.
After finishing the wedding dress business, Edgar took Ramona to the cake shop to choose their wedding tart. Edgar chose the hotel to spend their honeymoon.
At home, Julie is struggling with a stack of wedding invitations that Edgar left behind. The invited guests were Ramona and Edgar's neighbors, relatives and co-workers, as well as parents of pupils at Ramona school.
To shorten the time, Julie decided to send some invitations in the mail. As for the neighbors around the house he will deliver it himself on foot.
While sifting through the invitation, Julie recalls that Ramona does not have a successor to her father. Though the bride must be delivered by her biological father to meet the groom. Yeah, he's got to find the right guy to take Ramona to the altar.
The one who came to Julie's mind was Levon. The middle-aged man was Reagan's best friend, her husband. They have been friends since childhood and have always supported each other. Levon becomes Reagan's companion on his wedding day to Julie.
‘How's Levon. I'd better go to his house and ask Levon to be Ramona's guardian,’ Julie said.
Driving his old car, Julie headed to Levon's house which was a good distance away. For a long time he did not meet Levon after Reagan's death. Julie is not happy to bother Levon, because the man was preoccupied with his cafe and cake shop.
Arriving at Levon's house, Julie knocks on the door.
“Julie, your tumben came to visit me,” Levon said happily.
He immediately invited his late friend's wife in.
“Levon, I want to give you Ramona's wedding invitation.”
The end of Levon's eyebrows shot up. He was shocked and happy with the news of Ramona's marriage.
“Ramona to get married?” ask Levon.
“Yes, I also want to ask you to be a surrogate father to Ramona on her wedding day. Are you ready, Levon?” ask Julie expectantly.
Levon nodded happily and immediately agreed.
“Of course I'm willing. I will replace the role of Reagan to guide Ramona to the altar,” Levon said.
“Thank you very much, Levon,” Julie said.
“Not thank me. It's my duty to take care of Ramona like my own daughter.”
“What about your living conditions now, Julie?” ask Levon.
Julie looked sad. He felt Levon was the right person to share his story.
“I'm having a disaster, Levon. Actually, it's my own fault. As long as Reagan was hospitalized, I owed the loan shark money to pay for his treatment. The agent's name is Mr. Lucas. I can't pay and try to play. In fact I lost and my debt to Mr. Lucas grew more and more. Yesterday he came to confiscate my house because I couldn't pay off my loan,” Julie said as she was.
Levon was shocked to hear Julie. He does not expect Julie to be entangled by a dangerous loan shark.
“Jeez, Julie, why don't you just ask me for help and instead borrow money from Lucas.”
“I don't want to trouble you, Levon.”
“I never feel bothered. Then what about you and your daughter? Are you guys hurt?” ask Levon worriedly.
Julie recounts everything that happened to her, including Austin, the amnesiac man Ramona was treating. Austin has been credited with preventing the cruel deeds of Lucas and his men.
“I'm afraid Lucas will be back to take my house. And again me and Ramona still have to bear the cost of surgery and care Austin,” explained Julie sad.
Seeing Julie's depressed facial expression, Levon felt pity.
“Take it easy, Julie. I will relieve you of all your financial difficulties. I'm gonna go see Lucas tomorrow and pay off your debt. As for the cost of Austin hospital, I will transfer it today,” Levon said.
The middle-aged man tried to comfort Julie so as not to grieve.
“I also intend to sell my land in Detroit and will hand over the proceeds to you. You can wear it to meet your daily needs,” Levon added sincerely.
“No, don't be like that, Levon. I don't want to trouble you,” reject Julie.
“You don't feel indebted to me, Julie. After Reagan died, you and Ramona were part of my responsibility,”.
“Let me return Reagan's favor. I remember how he helped me when I was on the verge of bankruptcy. She was also the one who had freed me from alcoholism and comforted my broken heart due to the passing of Anna.”
A clear thread drenched Julie's cheeks. He was deeply moved by Levon's good intentions.
“My husband is so lucky to have a friend as good as you. Thank you so much Levon,” Julie said crying haru.
As they were talking, a young woman opened the door. He looked at Julie with a dislike look.
“Julie, this is my daughter Carla. He just got back from Boston. During this time he worked as a staff at a lawyer's office in Boston,” Levon said.
“Wah, Carla works in the same city as my son-in-law. Hello, Carla, it's Julie. Glad to see you, you are so beautiful,” praise Julie smiling.
Carla replied with a faint smile. Seeing an invitation on the table, his hand grabbed the invitation.
“Whose invitation is this, Dad?” ask Carla.
“Marriage invitation, Ramona, Julie and Reagan's son. I will be Ramona's companion on her wedding day,” replied Levon.
“Ramona?” reset Carla.
His hands suddenly tremble. With mixed feelings, Carla read the name on the invitation. His heart crumpled when he found the name Edgar as a prospective groom.
Unable to bear this harsh reality, Carla leaves her father with Julie. Carla shut herself in the room and cried.
“Sial!” carla shouted hysterically.
To vent her frustration, Carla ransacked all the belongings in her room.
“Edgar motherfucker! He totally dumped me!” carla shakes her hair.
Carla dropped herself on the bed while shedding tears. Heartbroken, he looks at the calendar to confirm Edgar and Ramona's wedding date. But the date it was given reminded Carla of something.
‘I haven't come months until now. Is it possible I'm pregnant with Edgar's child?’ inner Carla.
