Mom, I Want School

Mom, I Want School
22. SCHOOL PREPARATION

...✏️✏️✏️...

I adhere back to my habit every morning and evening who prefer to enjoy the natural scenery that I always admire every day. As usual the mountains with rice fields that now look to be quiet seems like Uncle Santoso has really completed his task.

The air this afternoon was really so pleasant for me even though my body was on this dike but my mind was fixed on one thing namely, the price of the uniform I heard from the witch-like woman in the shop. I think the woman mispronounced the price but it didn't, the price was really expensive.

I don't understand why uniforms are so expensive. I thought that the price of the uniform my friends used did not have a very high price but it turned out that the price was beyond my expectations. Why the price of school uniforms is very expensive if only the price of school uniforms is not expensive maybe you will give it to me, yes maybe if he has more money.

"Dame!!!"

The sound of a compact shout managed to make me turn my head to look at my friends who ran towards me with a bright smile from the look on their faces that were so very cheerful this afternoon. I could also see the figure of Angga carrying a book, I did not know what the book was but I could see there were some pictures there.

They stopped their steps and sat right next to me making me look at them one by one.

"All of you why? Do you want to play?" my many.

"Dad!" said Angga who patted my shoulder hard to make me jerk.

"Don't think about playing! You want to go to school, right? This year you're going to school. You're gonna enroll and be joining our school-"

"Then before that you have to learn," cut Ami made Angga talk about his lips in annoyance.

"Studying?" ask me to be confused.

"Yes learning. I'll tell you a secret."

"Confidential?"

"Yes a secret. In fact we have worked together will help you read so if you have entered the class after enrolling in school you will show the teacher mother that you are a smart child," explained Angga.

"Rubber, Ari. If you are good at reading before you go to school then you will get flattery to the teacher's mother and you will be the most beloved student," explained Angga exaggerated.

"That bill," said Cai and Ririn compactly.

"But don't forget that I'm the teacher and I'll teach you to read."

"If your teacher asks who is after you to read, then you should stand on a chair and say my name while patting my chest with pride if it's the one who taught you to read," said Angga who rose from the embankment while patting his chest proudly.

"Truly and I will teach you to count 1 to 10" O madahut Ami.

"1 to 10? It was so easy. Ari!" call Angga who pulled Ari's shoulder made me jerk to the hands of Angga.

"Ari, let alone 1 to 10, I'll teach you 1 to 100."

"Don't do too much! Ari wouldn't be able to if it was 1 to 100. We're gonna teach him the easier one, which is 1 to 10."

"If you're older then you'll try to count 1 to 100" continued Ami.

"Well, if you can count 1 to 10 or even 100 then you are already a smart person" whispered Angga in a voice similar to sedition.

"really?"

"Yes but it is not that easy to be a smart person because actually smart people must be smart to read if only just counting small children can also," explained Angga.

If I was good at reading and counting before school enrollment then I would be a smarter kid at school as my friends say, Ari, Ami, Angga, Cai and Ririn.

A minute later after we went around looking for a comfortable place to study we decided to stay on the levee precisely in the vicinity near the Chinese wood tree that has thick leaves.

In addition to this place not far from where his mother works from here also we did not get a sunburn that would interfere with my learning.

Angga opened his book wide, there were a few tears and looked a bit crumpled and dirty like this book has long been and has often been used while studying. I could see from the tip that many folded and brownish in color there were even some tears there.

"See this!"

Both of my eyes were rounded staring at letters that I had never seen before being pointed at by Angga with the tip of his index finger with a nail that looked dirty, yes maybe before Angga had scratched the ground earlier.

"This is the letter A."

I nodded and understood.

"Quick say A!"

"A."

"Longer!"

"Aaaa-ahahaha," I laughed a little while saying it made Angga laugh too.

I don't really understand what's funny but seeing Angga mention it so looks so funny.

"This is the letter B. Quickly say the letter B!"

I laughed again as I mimicked the sound of the goat making Cai and Ririn laugh along.

"You're playing around too much, Ari! If you want to be smart then you have to be serious" explained Ami patronizing.

I took a short breath trying to be serious. Of my friends only Ami who has a slightly firm attitude while Angga has an attitude that often incites, often boasting and much more.

A minute later I already know some letters like A B and C, it is not easy to have to memorize it sometimes I made scratching my head when Angga or Ami pointed at the letters and I have to guess. At first I thought reading was easy, but it was hard.

It's only three letters and I feel very tired but one thing that makes me have to be excited is, the friends that I have more excited then I have to be much more excited than them.

They seemed so eager to teach me and I could not laze around or spend my time laughing as much as Cai and Ririn did. I don't understand what's funny to those two friends who laugh occasionally, yes maybe they laugh because I'm the one who occasionally misspells.

The most beneficial thing in me is to have friends like them. People say having friends is easy, but having friends is hard. Friends and friends are hard to tell apart.

Sometimes someone we call a friend can just turn into a friend and a friend just changed into a friend but I am sure friends and friends if can not invite us to a change then it is not there's just no point.

Thank you my friends.

The knowledge I know today is something that means a lot to me.

Ari love you guys.
