Merapi Never Ingkar Janji 2 (The Return of the Sultan)
SS. 77. Brownies

Ddrrrrttt .. ddrrrr ...

Shaking the phone in his hand made him aware of a daydream.

"Hanifa ? What's he calling me ?" Mumbled himself.

"Assalamu'alaikum." Sapa Tata answered Hanifa's mobile call.

"Wa'alaikumsalam Ta, today Dya entered right ?"

"Yes in." Answer Tata flat.

"So I made Nindya's favorite brownie cake." Say again.

"Thank you, so it's a hassle." Tata's answer was trying to make small talk.

"Okay, I'm waiting. Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam."

'He said he would wait, who was he waiting for. Though earlier he did not ask at all, whether I delivered or not.' Her thought.

Tata was still negotiating with his own mind, while playing the phone in his hand.

"Mak Ata." Call Mbak Watik surprised.

"This is apparently, all the ingredients to make brownies I have prepared. Shall we make it now or what ?" Ask Mama Watik make sure.

'Brownies ? Didn't Hanifa say she brought a brownie to Nindya. But not only did Deya like brownies, Mas Al also really liked the legit and sweet cake. And there's no way that Hanifa doesn't know that. Then why did I make it again.' Thought in the heart.

"Mbak Ata, hello ?" Sapa Mbak Watik who was surprised to see his employer's wife with blank eyes.

"Not being a mother." Answer without expression.

"I mean, not what's it ?" Tanya Mbak Watik still does not understand.

"Bikin brownies ma'am, next time." The answer is still expressionless.

"Oh, yes Ma'am Ata. Then, I went back first huh Ma'am." By harboring curiosity. Because it's not usually his employer's wife like that.

'What's wrong with Ma'am Ata, earlier he himself was enthusiastic about making brownies, suddenly he just cancels, after all I've prepared.' The grunt in the heart.

Mrs Watik still breezed into her study at the back, though intermittently still glanced at her employer's wife sitting pensively in front.

'Or this tiny baby that was born to the baby yes, as a whole, I've never felt what it's like to crave and conceive.' The edge in the heart.

Again he remembered the story of his life who had been married for almost ten years, but had not been blessed with a child. That way, he understands the conditions that exist, without having to think a lot of things that are not.

***

The roar of the car and the sound of a special horn belonging to the host has been heard loud to the inside. Before long, a gentle greeting of an Al followed along with the cessation of the hum from his four-wheeled vehicle.

"Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam Al, tumben's gone home ?" Mother replied at once asking what is the reason for her son to go home early.

"Yes Mother, Al tired, wants to go to bed early."

"Yes, clean your body, eat and rest." Mother Said.

"What a shock Papa's son, what is this mama, Mama where ?" Tanya Al who took the time to greet Nindya who was engrossed with food in front of her.

She sat sweetly accompanied by Mother Arum, there was no Mama Tata around. He asked Al where his wife was. Usually, where there is Nindya, there must be Mama Tata.

"The word is, above. It looks like he's not feeling well either." Replied the Mother who also saw her daughter-in-law slightly limp today.

"Enak Pa, Papa taste it, would love it." Nindya's bargain as Papa Al approaches.

Tata, who was already half down the stairs, was forced to stop his steps, when Nindya offered the brownies he was enjoying, to his Papa.

"What is this dear ?" Ask Al.

"Papa's favorite cake brownie." Answer's adorable.

"Oh yeah, try dong." His face opens his mouth.

Nindya thrust her hand out, giving a mouthful of brownie cake that she had brought from school.

Hanifa who made it, she made her own special for Nindya.

"Hhhmmmm, that's delicious."

Jealousy flashed through his heart, when he heard Al praising the other person's handmade brownies. Someone who has ever wanted to get his heart.

"Don't you, Papa likes it ?"

"Definitely Papa likes it, made by Mama it always fits on Papa's tongue." His comments intended to praise his wife, because as far as Al, these brownies made by Tata and Mbak Watik at home, who had promised to make it.

Uhhuukkk .. uhhuukkk ...

Hearing the name 'Hanifa', somehow the taste of Al's favorite brownies turned bland. It even made him cough for no reason.

"Why why ?" Ask Nindya. Seeing the look on Al's face, Nindya became afraid of her Papa why-why.

"Papa-why, Dya continue eating yes, Papa into first. Don't forget to brush your teeth before you go to bed." Pamit Al hid the mimic changes on her face.

Nindya nodded, still with her mouth full of cake brownies, she gave a thumbs up towards Papa Al, agreeing with what Papa Al said.

As for Tata, she undoes her intention to join her daughter and mother-in-law, after seeing Al's arrival and is forced to return to the room. As usual, it was her job to prepare a change of clothes for her husband.

Kolkhi ...

Al opened the door to his room and made sure his wife was inside.

"Assalamu'alaikum." Sweepings.

"Wa'alaikumsalam." She answered while kissing the back of her husband's hand.

Without saying much, Al continued his activities in the bathroom. The atmosphere was a little awkward, whether consciously or not, Al could already feel what made his wife like that.

"Hhhhmmm ... " Al's smile expands. Looking at his wife from behind. He wrapped his arms so that there was no more room between them.

"Mas." His complaints were treated like that.

"What ?"

Tata is speechless, trying to rebel, trying to let go of Al's embrace, regardless of her husband's questions.

However, the stronger he tried, the tighter Al hugged him.

"Why are you ?" Ask Al again.

"No papa." Answer irent.

"But I saw something different." He tried to guess.

"No." Elak Tata with a slightly vibrating tone.

Al loosened his embrace, twisting Anita's body before him.

"Say, if there's anything you want to say. Ask if there is anything you want to ask. Don't shut up, because silence hurts." Al said with a deep look.

I don't know where those words came from. A short sentence with the right sequence.

"I'm fine, Mom." He tried to evade.

But Tata did not realize, if the answer was an expression of his heart feelings.

"I assume you're lying this time." Said Al again.

"I'm just not feeling well."

This time he did not lie, because what he thought, also affected his health condition.

"Oh yeah, Tumben Mas came home early ? Have you eaten already ? Or do you want to make warm tea or coffee ?" Tata tried to distract.

"No, I just want you to be with me." Al answered, stretching out his hand.

"But, I haven't put Nindya to sleep yet." His eagle.

"It's okay, Nindya is still engrossed with Mother below."

Reluctantly, Tata stepped her foot up onto the bed.

He put his body in Al's arms. Recollecting an initial commitment he made in this house.

'Better, I tell you what I think. Rather than me harboring feelings that have no end.' Think Tata in the heart.

"Mas, Mas Al." Calling lirih.

He saw that Al had closed his eyes. Maybe the tiredness makes him sleep in seconds.

Seeing that her husband had fallen asleep, Tata again abandoned her intention to speak.

"I'm sorry Mas, I'm just afraid of losing you." Lirih.
