Just Dreams

The clock's needle turned, Nazia heard someone's sobs disturbed in her sleep.

"Darling, what's wrong with you?" Nazia sat on the edge of the bed. Zevin seems to still be as hot as the corners of his eyes water. 

Nazia feels her stomach contraction . He went to the bathroom first and woke Zevin up again. After coming from the bathroom, Nazia sat back on the edge of the mattress. He saw the clock on the nightstand showing at 4 am.

"Dear, wake up." Nazia patted Zevin's cheek softly.

The sound of a woman's soft voice calling out his name, Zevin reflexively opened his eyes. He immediately sat down and hugged Nazia's body with Erat.

Zevin's crying broke. "Honey, are you breathing again? Don't leave me again. I'm so scared." Said crying.

Nazia patted her husband's back channeling a sense of calm. "I'm doing fine. Tell why?" He loosened his embrace. But Zevin increasingly pulls his body reluctant to let go of his wife.

"Dear, thank God you breathe again. Is my baby breathing too? Ta—tadi your heart and he's not beating anymore. A—what happened? You're hiding something from me?" Read Zevin mixed in his tears.

Nazia now understands that maybe her husband had a bad dream. "Dear I'm claustrophobic, drink first." Nazia.

"Soak ?!" Zevin reflexes loosened his embrace. He groped to and fro looking for a stethoscope and CTG.

"What are you looking for?" Nazia asked in wonder.

"Stethoscope and CTG" replied Zevin.

It seemed that Zevin was not fully conscious yet, Nazia grabbed her husband's face and cupped her hands to Zevin's cheeks and said. "Darling you are just a dream. I'm fine." Said firmly.

Zevin realized, he felt the warm palms of his wife, Zevin closed his eyes for a moment Tears spilled back. "The dream is real. I can't take it, if it's true." Speech weak.

"Trust me everything's fine. Now drink it." Nazia grabbed a glass of water on the nightstand.

Zevin takes it and drinks it out. After her, she took a stethoscope and a CTG. "Lay baby. I have to make sure you're okay."  His words were raspy while wiping away his tears.

Nazia complies to keep her husband calm. Zevin is relieved that his wife is doing well. Not to forget she also checked Nazia's blood pressure and lastly, she checked her baby's heartbeat.

The baby's heartbeat sounds normal and loud. Zevin breathed a sigh of relief that nightmare drove him almost insane.

"Thank God." Zevin.

Nazia sat back down, she felt her contractions again. "Darling, listen to me don't panic. I have something to say. The quiet trust me everything's fine." Speak Nazia carefully. 

Zevin confirmed his sitting position and looked at Nazia's face seriously. He could see the look on Nazia's face like holding back pain and breathing.

"Say baby" urged Zevin.

Nazia adjusted her breathing and said slowly. "We're going to the hospital now yes, I've issued the characteristics to give birth . But her contractions are still rare and not very painful."

Zevin's body stiffened.

"Yes dear." He said with a slight tremble.

"You promised not to panic." Nazia.

Zevin nodded and said

"Yes, I wash my face first." In response to the nod from Nazia.

Unbeknownst to Nazia, her husband pressed the alarm button on the side of the mattress. A few seconds later

The door is knocked from the outside. "Notice of Nazia. Coinciding with Zevin coming out of the bathroom.

"What's up, Zi?" Ivan asked still with his pillow face.

He entered with Erik and Kiki, each of them still yawning.

"Erik get the car ready, my wife wants to give birth !" Zevin's Order.

"WHAT ?! GIVING BIRTH !" Shouted Erik, Ivan and Kiki simultaneously.

A moment later Erik woke up.

"Yes Brother." He rushed out to the car garage.

"I'll bring Madam's luggage." Kiki grabbed the suitcase that Nazia had prepared long ago.

"I'll tell Mama." Ivan walked to his room.

"Wait !" Nazia said stop Ivan's steps.

"Why, Zi?" Ask Ivan.

"Call them after morning, it's still four o'clock. You can sleep again." Nazia.

"All right." Reply Ivan went straight to his room.

Zevin leads Nazia out of the room. In the living room Erik and Kiki waited.

"Rik, you go back to sleep again. You have to go to the office tomorrow. You are also Ki." Nazia's voice occasionally regulates the breath if it starts to contract.

"But—" Erik's speech was interrupted. Because Zevin nodded in agreement to Nazia's request.

"Thank you for getting the car ready. Let's go." Nazia.

"Be careful" Reply Erik and Kiki.

Zevin opened the car for his wife first. Nazia sat quietly in the car.

"Are you okay?" Ask Zevin. As soon as he put his seat belt on.

"Yes, just make it no fuss ! Why wake everyone up because they want to get it out?" Nazia said annoyedly.

"Sorry dear, the effect of my dream still haunts me earlier."

Nazia stroked her stomach because she felt the baby move.

"You know, honey? When your pregnancy hits seven months. Almost every time I was afraid, I as a doctor could only see the tense faces of the husbands when delivering his wife in labor. But over the past three months, I've felt that tension all the time. I've been trying to calm myself down all this time. Turns out it didn't work out the proof I was carried away by a dream and panicked earlier." Zevin's Story.

"There is no need to fear dear, trust in God and the doctor who treats me." Nazia.

Zevin's car stopped in the basement of a doctor-only hospital. He asked the guards there to bring a wheelchair for Nazia.

"We went to the ER first." Zevin.

Nazia nodded. Arriving there, the doctor was alert to help Nazia and examine her. Then they called Doctor Farida who was treating Nazia.

"Now move to the maternity room." Nurse.

"Yes." Yeah."

Zevin again pushes Nazia's wheelchair into the delivery room. There Dr Farida was waiting.

"Hi Doctor, Zi. When did the contract start?" Greet Doctor Farida.

"An hour ago about three o'clock . I've issued a feature to give birth" replied Nazia.

"Alright, let's check the opening first." Said Dr Farida.

Zevin helps Nazia lie in a gurney. "I'm glad I called Yudha first."

" Yes." Yeah."

Dr Farida checked the opening afterwards and said. "Still a long time, Zi. You must know that the process is generally between 6-12 hours or even more. I hope you give birth at 10. So it didn't hold the pain for long." Said Dr Farida.

"Thank you Doctor Farida." Nazia.

"How ?" Ask Zevin to come back in

"Still a long time darling, the estimate may be 10am or so. I just gave birth" replied Nazia.

"You can rest in your nursery first Zi, later if it's time for you to give birth here again. You can also take a shower and eat." Z Farida.

" Thank you Doctor Farida." Zevin said to help Nazia get out of bed. 

Zevin takes Nazia to the VIP room of the Indra family. Nazia has not felt the frequent contractions.

"Dear sleep again." Nazia

Zevin shook his head and said.

"You alone, I'm not sleepy anymore." He rubbed Nazia's hip because it felt like a contraction again.

Nazia closed her eyes. He stole an opportunity on the sidelines not to contract it for rest. While Zevin after rubbing his wife's hips he made a warm tea for himself.

Zevin sat on the chair continuing to rub Nazia's hips again after making tea. His wife seems restless if his contract is felt.

The ZK Hospital

The sun has revealed its light. In Nazia's room, her husband did not sleep at all. He was always on standby beside his wife. So Nazia did not sleep just closed her eyes tightly.

"Darling take a shower, let's get you fresh." Zevin.

"Yes, you take a shower too. In the suitcase I've got your clothes ready." Reply Nazia.

Zevin helps Nazia bathe painstakingly, so he gets his wife's hair. Full of patience he rubbed Nazia's body with soap not only that, he also washed his wife's underwear which was stained with blood. Although Nazia forbids it, but Zevin ignores it. He is responsible for the blood released by Nazia, after the birth of his wife later Zevin sent the clothes to his home.

After helping Nazia put on her clothes, Zevin dries her hair lovingly. Without them noticing the three pairs of elders were staring at them.

"How are the conditions, Zi." Mr. Indra's question surprised Zevin and Nazia.

"You're here "Reply Nazia was happy to see that her six parents were there.

"Still a long time, Pa." Reply Zevin.

There was Mr. Indra with Ms. Felisya, and Ms. Mira with Dr. Radit. Then Mr. Bram and Ms. Sherly.

"Zevs. Now you take a shower, son. Let Mama dry her hair, Zi." Said Mira's mother.

Nazia nodded. Zevin gave the little towel to Mira's mother.

"What time does Doctor think, Zi?" Ask Dr. Radit.

" Four ten, Pa. Maybe more because it's the first kid." Nazia.

Before long a nurse came to check the baby's blood pressure and heart rate. Once an hour the examination is done. After taking a shower, Zevin grabbed the food plate and sat down on the edge of the mattress.

"Honey to eat first yes "Zevin pointed the spoon into his wife's mouth.

"Eat the same as you." Reply Nazia. He was sure Zevin wouldn't eat later.

"We ate together" Zevin smiled.

These two human children ate each other bribes in a plate. The parents saw him so they smiled. Rayya soon comes to see Nazia. He saluted Zevin who was sprightly to his wife.
