Her father Ellen's past

Leo saw Ellen staring at the seemingly uninspired look since returning home from Desi's apartment. Ellen preferred to look out the window.

"Can I go to my mom's house? I want to talk to my mom about something" Ellen said, staring out the window.

"All right, but I'm still coming" Ellen just nodded her head.

Leo asks Rezza to take them to Ellen's house. After an hour they reached Ellen's house. Ellen and Leo simultaneously entered the house, but when they wanted to enter they heard a quarrel from within.

"You're the son-in-law of the unlucky bearer. Since marrying you, my son has changed" Ellen knows the voice that insulted her mother.

"Oh ma, we better go back to the village. I told you all, that Nia's sister must be a proud person. He was arrogant because his daughter could marry a rich man"

"Enough. Grandma and aunty have insulted mom enough like that. From the beginning I was suspicious why grandma wanted to spend the night in our house. CK... I didn't think Grandma wanted money with my mom. Do you think mom is a bank?" kartika with emotion.

"Tika, keep your limits.." mama Nia snapped at her daughter.

"You are truly a failed wife and mother. You can't make your husband to always be on the right path and your daughters don't have manners" Grandma once again insulted Mama Nia with emotion.

"It was fortunate that during my son's life, he had one righteous deed. I'm sure my granddaughter, who was raised by Tere, doesn't have the nature of your daughters" she continued.

"Good-grandson? Tere? Who do you mean grandma?" kartika asked with a frown. As far as Kartika is concerned, in her father's family there was no one named Tere.

"Ma, please don't say anything. Didn't my mom promise?" Mama Nia tries to stop grandma from answering her daughter's questions.

Ellen who heard Grandma's words was also very curious about who Tere meant by her grandmother. Ellen who wanted to enter immediately arrested Leo.

"Why are you holding me back? I wonder who Grandma meant" Ellen said in a soft voice.

"You'll find out later, just listen from here" Leo said. Ellen followed what Leo had told her.

"I don't care about my promises. Listen to me, do you think that you're the only son of your father? No, your father has a son from his other wife. If you don't believe me, you can ask your mom"

Ellen who heard his grandmother's explanation, immediately threw out Leo's hand which held him not in. Ellen opened the door of her house loudly, thus making everyone very surprised.

"Ma, answer what the grandmother said was not true" said Ellen as she walked closer to her mother who had covered her face with both hands.

Instead of answering Mama Nia crying, this made Kartika and Ellen conclude that what their grandmother said was true.

"CRC... Are you proud that your grandmother's son remarried and got a grandson?" asked Ellen coldly looking at grandma.

"Dragon's talking" said the grandmother who was emotional because she felt Ellen's attitude was disrespectful.

"Why? Is there something wrong with my question? As long as Grandma knew, I was never once proud to be the daughter of a grandmother's son. There's not a single good example we can take of a father like him" Ellen said.

Hearing Ellen's words that had insulted her son made grandmother want to slap Ellen. But he was instantly annoyed that someone was holding his hand in the air. When she wanted to see who was blocking her, she was shocked to see Leo doing it.

"Although you are the grandmother of my wife, I cannot be rude to you mistress. I will respect you if you can take care of your behavior. But from what I noticed earlier, you don't deserve my respect for you" Leo said coldly.

Grandma and aunt actually wanted to fight back but the uncle who had been silent earlier, directly stopped the grandmother and aunt. Uncle reminds them who Leo really is. Of course, making grandmother and aunt immediately follow what Leo said.

After her father's family left Ellen and Kartika immediately sat next to Nia's mother. Leo chose to sit somewhere else.

"When did you know this?" Ellen opened her voice first. Mama Nia wiped away her tears, after which she looked at her two daughters with sadness.

"It's all my fault dear mama, if only mama could give a son to your father, surely your father would not marry again" said Mama Nia mamma.

"So just because of that, dad chose to marry again? Mama just agrees?" Mama Nia again shed her tears when she heard Kartika's question.

Seeing her mother crying again, Kartika and Ellen embraced her mother. They know how their mother feels. There is no way her mother can take it for granted, but what is the power of her mother can only survive.

After an hour passed the grief of Nia's mother disappeared because her two daughters made a funny story on Nia's mother. To relieve their sadness, the three of them decided to cook a cake in the kitchen. After seeing her mother smile again, Ellen told her her purpose came.

"So you're going on your honeymoon?" asked Mama Nia while processing the dough.

"Yes, that's how ma is. Ma, for a while my shop I leave it to mama and Kartika to watch over him huh" Ellen said with a little weaving her lips.

"Cie on her honeymoon... That means Tika bertar again have a niece dong.." kartika tease Ellen, her brother.

Ellen hit Kartika on the head with a spoon in her hand.

"It hurts to know, brother..."

"Let it.." said Ellen as she stretched out her tongue at Kartika.

Leo, who wanted to take a drink to the kitchen, saw his wife's funny behavior.

"Son, Leo... Do you need anything?" ask Mama Nia who is aware of Leo's presence. Kartika who was mocking each other immediately stopped him and looked towards Leo.

Ellen was embarrassed that Leo saw her child-like behavior and her face was now flushed red as Leo looked at her with a smile.

"Sorry ma, I just want to get some water" Leo said.

"You just sit there, I'll drive it" Ellen said a little nervously.

"Alright, I'm back in the living room" Leo said with a smile.

After Leo left, Kartika again teased her sister by nudging Ellen's arm while blinking her eyes.
