Imam Shafi’i said:

“When you expect too much of someone, God will inflict on you the pain of empty hopes. Allah does not like it when anyone wishes on other than His Thing, Allah hinders his ideals so that he returns to hope only to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala”

"The Promise of Allah SWT to Muslims is found in His glorious verses. These promises are worldly and sacred to His servant who believes and does good deeds.

The hope of Allah SWT is what His servant looks forward to. For Allah is the best of the promise-makers and it is impossible to break His promise.

This promise is intended by Allah SWT in order to invite His servants to come and draw closer to Him. Based on the interpretation of Kemenag, QS Ghafir or Al-Mu'min verse 60 explains that Allah SWT will grant the prayer of His servant.

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُوْنِيْٓ اَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۗاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِيْ سَيَدْخُلُوْنَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِيْنَ

It means: "And your Lord says, "Pray Me, I will permit you. Verily those who are arrogant will not worship Me, they will go to Hell in an abject state."

"And Allah's Promise SWT when we Remember Him

According to the Kemenag interpretation, which is meant in remembering Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in this verse is done through the mouth with dhikr, through the heart by remembering the power and wisdom of God, or through physical by obeying Allah SWT.

فَاذْكُرُوْنِيْٓ اَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوْا لِيْ وَلَا تَكْفُرُوْنِ ࣖ
