LIEGE

LIEGE
FEELING BLESSED

"Assalaamu'alaykum," Daffa said a greeting as he walked into the spacious back porch. There appeared to be several middle-aged men and women.

"Wa'alaykumussalaam," answered.

A man who still looked gallant, whom Erina recognized as Irwan, stood up and came to them. Daffa hugged the man and kissed his hands reverently. Erina could see how similar Daffa was to her father. Maybe that's how Daffa will be when he gets old.

"Welcome to our villa, Rin." Irwan reached out with a hand to call out to Salaman. Erina greeted him and kissed the back of Irwan's hand respectfully.

"Thank you, Mr. Irwan, who invited me to this beautiful villa" said Erina.

"There's no need to be too formal outside the office, Rin. You're not here to discuss work. You can call me om.. or maybe dad?" Mr. Irwan glanced at Daffa who replied with a big smile.

"Ah, sir Irwan could have. Later people think I'm the future daughter-in-law of this family" replied Erina.

"God willing, you will be my son-in-law. Let's get acquainted with the others first."

Daffa took Erina by the hand and invited her to approach a woman who looked simple yet unpretentious.

"Rin, this is my round." Daffa hugged the woman warmly, then kissed her cheek. "Happy birthday, young. Daffa brought a special gift for you."

Mira warmly returned Daffa's embrace. Then he looked at Erina who was standing next to Daffa.

"Bun, introduce. It's Erina."

"Happy birthday, aunt." Erina immediately went forward handing over a bouquet of flowers and a paperbag containing a gift that had been prepared beforehand.

"Thank you, Erin, for attending our family event." Mira hugged Erina warmly. Meanwhile Erina replied to him doubtfully. Not dislike it, but he doesn't know what to do. This time someone welcomed her so warmly.

"My thanks, aunty and sir. eh Irwan my family accepted my presence," answered Erina sincerely.

"Of course we are very open to accepting the future daughter-in-law of this family" chirped a man sitting in one of the chairs.

"Rin, meet Anto. She is the oldest sister. Who sat next to him om Pandu, sister-in-law of mother. Aunt Aira's husband." Erina nodded her head at those whom Daffa called her name.

"The beauty here is aunt Wita, wife of Anto. You've met up ahead with Aunt Aira. And the one sitting next to Aunt Wita is my grandmother. There was another sister who could not come. His name is Benny."

This time Erina approached Wita and Marni, Daffa's grandmother. He greeted and kissed the backs of his hands respectfully.

"Smart you Daf. Your taste has never been wrong. Pretty-beautiful," praised Wita. "It's mom."

"Here ndhuk, sitting next to eyang," called Marni while patting the sofa she was sitting on. Erina looks doubtful, but still complies with Marni's request.

"Well, would she be Daffa's wife?" ask Daffa who is sitting on Marni's left.

"Hmm.. piye ndhuk? You want to be the granddaughter's wife?" Marni asked Erina, who seemed surprised, not expecting the sudden question.

"Eh. oh..."

"Lho yes ora popo tho if mbah nanya. If he doesn't want to be Daffa's wife, yo kasian this grandson of mine. Lah wong, kethok'e putuku iki wis karo de'e heavy musk," said Marni. "Ndhuk Piye? Kowe ready to be eyang's granddaughter-in-law?"

All eyes looked at Erina, waiting for her answer. Erina cleared her throat. He looked at Daffa who was currently also looking at him with a gaze capable of making Erina wonder. He saw Daffa smiling, not only on his lips but also in his eyes.

"Hmm.. If indeed we are paired and sanctioned by the whole family, Erin will not reject fate." Diplomatic answers but enough to answer everyone's questions.

"Well, your girlfriend must be good at negotiating yes Daf," praised Anto. "And according to the answers given are quite diplomatic. It's up to you now, Daf. As tenacious as you will try to win her heart."

"God willing om. If it is already a soul mate, it will not go where. Make Daffa important that your father can accept Erina's presence as a future wife."

"What about mister Andrew's family?" ask Irwan. "Did they accept you?"

"Daffa has met and expressed Daffa's good wishes to be in a relationship with their only daughter. And according to the father by allowing Daffa to bring their child here are they able to reject a Daffa?" Daffa asked back with a big smile. He blinked one eye at Erina who had been staring at him since.

"So when should father and mother come to see Erin's parents?" ask Irwan.

"No need to date Daf for a long time" chirped Aira who just came with a plate of snacks. "Later to fail again like the old one. Eh... don't you think I mentioned that in front of Erina?"

"Ah elo mah tan custom. It's been a new slip of apology," Daffa's tirade pretended to sulk. Erina could see how close the relationship of the two was.

"No papa aunt. Everyone has a past that will definitely be a life lesson. Daffa told me about his past. Likewise I've told you about my past." Erina replied with a sincere smile.

"Waaah..you are indeed great to choose a prospective life partner," praised Pandu who immediately approached Aira, his wife. "Your daughter until now has not been able to accept that om office with ex."

Others laughed at hearing this. They know how much Aira and Pandu love each other, but Aira with her nature as the youngest child sometimes still likes to lash out if Pandu is late coming home due to a meeting.

"You could move to work, which. You can ask for a position in Irwan mas company or Anto bang. Let me not worry anymore."

Pandu hugged Aira from behind. "You know that I don't like the success of others. Let me make a career not as his sister, but as myself."

"Look off tan. Um Pandu mah bucin very same elo. I still remember how he used to wait for elo who again craved because of forgetting your anniversary date. Where it rained."

"God, your niece is a living witness to how much I love you the same. So don't be jealous anymore." Pandu dipped Aira's cheeks.

"Dear, I promise I won't be jealous of your ex. But I also ask you not to be jealous if my ex comes to the store." Pandu tightened his embrace while occasionally his hand gently stroked Aira's stomach.

"Not be jealous anymore. The child wants three to be jealous. If one of you prickles, I'm the one who bothered" said Daffa.

"Talk at the stop first. Let's have lunch first. Poor eyang is starving already."

Erina looked at the envy of this family's familiarity. His family was familiar but not like Daffa. One more thing that makes Erina mixed feelings is how open the Daffa family received it. One thing he has never experienced with his ex-girlfriend.
