Episode 03 "Treating San Lin"

"Tabib Kang Ho's... Are you inside?.." Shouted a woman whose face had started to wrinkle calling someone and banged on the door of her house.

While inside the house, another old man was reading a book, he looked very serious when reading the book. But soon he expressed annoyance that someone was bothering him.

"Yes! Wait a minute!!.." Said the old man who turned out to be the healer Kang Ho.

Physician Kang Ho then walked to the door and opened it, and at once he who was upset turned ordinary.

"It turns out Miss Yu, is there any way that Madam Yu has come at night like this?.." Physician Kang Ho asked curiously.

"Tabib, I need your help to save a dying child.." The woman immediately said her intent and purpose.

Kang Ho is a healer and since he is the only healer in the village, he must accept the request for help. Human life was very important, and since Kang Ho had also taken the oath of a physician there was no reason for him to refuse.

"Alright madam Yu show you the way.." Said Kang Ho and did not ask at length even though he was curious whose child actually needed help.

Kang Ho decided to ask later because life is the most important thing. Then without saying much more the woman immediately led the way to her house in a hurry.

While beside the old man earlier, he saw that the blood on San Lin's body had frozen, and he also thought that maybe the healer would be bothered by the smell of San Lin's blood and dirty body. Therefore then he took some water and some white cloth.

The old man then began to wipe and clean San Lin's entire body from the traces of blood mixed with the ground.

"Let's hold on for a little while, poor boy..." The old man said as he looked at San Lin with a look of pity and worry.

Moments later, the old man's wife had returned with physician Kang Ho.

Physician Kang Ho did not mince words as soon as he saw the state of San Lin that was covered in wounds all over his body. The first thing Kang Ho did was to hold San Lin's wrist. After Kang Ho held it he felt something was strange to San Lin, therefore he switched to putting two of his fingers on San Lin's navel.

Kang Ho closed his eyes and drained energy from his two fingers. After thirty seconds Kang Ho then opened his eyes.

"This boy has no dantian.." Said Kang Ho while grinning his forehead.

"Will the healer still be able to heal him?.." The old man who brought San Lin earlier asked back in panic.

"It's difficult because his lungs were injured and two ribs were broken. But as a healer I will keep trying, so you guys just wait outside and let me work with focus!.."

"Good healer.."

Then the old man and his wife left the room and waited outside. While physician Kang Ho was working in the room, the old man's wife asked her husband.

"I saw him being surrounded by wolves so I helped him, but I was late because he was unconscious.." The old man explained.

"So you mean you've started using your power again so!?.." The woman asked angrily at her husband.

"I have no other choice Yu'er, or the boy will die!." The old man continued to explain.

The old man's explanation instead of making his wife understand made her even more angry.

"You mean you better sacrifice your life just for that unknown child and leave me alone so!? Huh!?."

"Yu'er, that's not what I meant. What's wrong if I get a little hurt that important the kid survives, anyway as you can see, aren't I okay? I don't even feel my old wounds coming back if I use my powers back, really I feel really healthy now.."

The man painstakingly kept trying to explain. But although the explanation sounded convincing, in fact the old man was enduring the pain like being burned alive with a fire burning throughout his body.

"But what if your old wound comes back? What if you really leave me? Losing our son was enough to make me very sad, and now I really don't want to lose the only husband I have.."

The woman's words clearly sounded like they were very alarming. The woman thought it was better for the child saved by her husband to die than for her husband to die. And actually the worry is too excessive because also the incident has passed.

Hearing all his wife said, the old man could only shake his head and sigh helplessly.

"But I'm okay, right?.."

While the elderly husband and wife continued to argue outside the room, in the room Physician Kang Ho took out a bottle that stored potions inside. After that he also took out a needle and a few rolls of thread.

Physician Kang Ho dripped a few drops of the potion onto San Lin's wounds all over his body then stitched his wounds slowly. The process took about two hours because San Lin's injuries were numerous, moreover two were not a cultivator so the way of treatment was certainly different from the treatment of cultivators.

As a healer the job was highly regarded in this world of cultivators because the abilities possessed by a healer were not just one, but he had to know some other knowledge. Like Alchemist, martial arts and of course he must have talent in both fields.

To understand all these areas, healers must study and practice four times harder than people in general. Because in addition to understanding the theory of the healers also have to pass several practical tests.

And the martial arts learned was to protect himself even though in that field he was not very talented but it was required, as he would be recognized as a healer after he obtained a special badge.

After finishing sewing all of San Lin's wounds, Kang Ho took out some bandages from his storage ring and bandaged all of San Lin's wounds.

The exhausting and tense process passed for four hours before Kang Ho could breathe a sigh of relief. After that Kang Ho packed back all his stuff scattered everywhere and went out of the room to meet and talk to the husband and wife who had been waiting outside.

But before Kang Ho opened the door, he once again turned around and looked at San Lin, and to his surprise he was unaware that now was the time to connect...
