THE TAHU FALLS

Bajuin waterfall is located in the slope of the Meratus Mountains. Precisely, it is located in Sungai Bakar Village, Pelaihari Subdistrict which is about 10 km from the capital of Tanah Laut Regency and about 75 km from the capital of South Kalimantan, namely Banjarmasin.In this area there are four exotic waterfalls with different heights. The first waterfall has a height of about 25 meters, the second waterfall has a height of about 17 meters, the third waterfall has a height of about 37 meters, and the fourth waterfall has a height of about 18 meters. When crossing several waterfalls, we will be able to see the highest waterfall that is better than the waterfall below. The wind that causes the leaves of trees to move and the sound of waterfalls is a natural charm that is so beautiful. Natural beauty like this should continue to be grateful.Air flowing from the natural rocks was also derived from a spring located at the highest peak of the Bajuin Mountains. In fact, the water coming out of the sidelines of the rocks found at the top of the mountain by the community is said to contain luck or efficacy for the treatment or cure of various diseases. Therefore, the water that comes out from between the rocks is called banyu batuah ‘lucky water’ or ‘bakat’.People who come from Pelaihari or from outside the far-away region come to take lucky water which is believed to be a treatment.Banyu Batuah is believed to be a cure for various diseases, such as, especially diseases that are considered supernatural diseases.The belief of other people about lucky water is to make the face stay young so that many people come to wash their faces. The water is fresh and brings an aura of health to the body.Water that constantly comes out on the sidelines of the rocks, finally forming a lake so that people call it by the name of Lake Nature. The existence of public belief about banyu batuah makes the place called Banyu Batuah Natural Lake. Then, the water that continues to flow from the top of the mountains that pass through the large rocks found along the slopes of Bukit Bajuin forming waterfalls on several hilltops so called Bajuin waterfall.Until now, Bajuin waterfall, the water that flows from the top of the hills of Bajuin was never dry. In fact, the flow of water that forms a small river at the foot of the hill is widely used by locals for daily purposes.Pendukan believe that banyu batuah originating from the top of the Bajuin Mountains has luck and is able to heal a variety of sicknesses. It is said to have originated from a legend of community belief.
