Waiting for the arrival of Parmin's grandfather, Indri's mother and Sumi's grandmother seemed to have a warm conversation. Mr. Wiguna was also seen chatting with them. Meanwhile, Setya, glanced at Kamila. Which if Kamila turned her head towards him, she blinked one eye at Kamila.
"Mom Sumi, her legs have started to move, huh?" Ms. Indri asked about the health of Sumi's grandmother.
"Yes, Indri Nak. It's not too stiff. Nak Wiguna takes good care of me" said Nek Sumi smiling as he called Mr. Wiguna, who took care of the healing of his legs.
Mr. Wiguna routinely comes to Sumi's house every two days, to check on the legs of Sumi's nek who had bone cancer. Pak Wiguna also gave treatment voluntarily to Sumi's grandmother, meaning, Sumi's grandmother did not need to pay for her treatment to Pak Wiguna. Although, Sumi's nek medicine is relatively expensive, and there is rarely a stock of medicine from the village Puskesmas, Pak Wiguna always uses his personal money to buy medicines. Not only Grandpa Sumi, Wiguna also often helps poor villagers, by providing free treatment.
"Please drink the tea, son," Sumi bargained with her guest.
"Yes, Mom. You should not bother," said Ms. Indri.
"This, there is a little parcel from us," he added while handing the parcel he brought earlier, to Sumi's grandmother.
"Thank you very much, son. Drink it, yeah. No bother, really. After all, the one who prepared it all, was Kamila, not Mom. Mother can't do anything. Walk, you can't. Now, it is Kamila who bears all the burdens of the household, this house. I don't know if there's no Kamila on my side." Nek Sumi looked a little proud of her grandson
"Yes, Mom. Kamila's a diligent kid. I know, it's. Therefore, we would like to invite Kamila, to be our daughter-in-law, as well as the wife of Setya, our only son." Ms. Indri nodded while stroking the back of Setya who was sitting next to her.
Their conversation came to a halt, when they saw Grandpa Parmin already walking close to them.
Grandpa Parmin who looked prepared, walked confidently closer to where everyone was sitting. Kamila, who saw her grandfather coming, got up and moved to sit on the floor next to her grandmother.
Setya who had been looking at Kamila, looked at her eyes and followed Kamila. Making Kamila, who was aware of that, seem a little embarrassed.
Parmin's grandfather sat in the chair, opposite Setya. She smiled at Setya, and Setya's father and mother. His mind is haunted by the wishful thinking of getting a lot of money from them.
After greeting Mr. Wiguna, Parmin's grandfather began to mince words.
"Sir Wiguna, and Nak Indri, what's up, yes, come to our ugly house. Hehe. What's important to talk about?" he pretended not to know, what was the meaning of the arrival of his guests.
"Based on old Grandpa, he's very good at pretending in front of Mommy and Dad. He must have wanted to be, to be so sweet, "inner Setya, who felt that Grandpa Parmin's attitude had changed by one hundred and eighty degrees, than usual. Setya rolled his eyes, feeling careless with the pretentious attitude of Parmin's grandfather.
"Look, Sir. We came here, intending to propose to your grandson. Are you willing to give up your grandson, to be married by our son, Setya?" Mr. Wiguna opened his voice, about his arrival to Parmin's grandfather.
"Oh, of course." Grandpa Parmin seemed to nod while returning to reveal his smile to Setya's parents.
"But, ehhmm.. dare to pay what dowry, you guys?" said Parmin's grandfather, without hesitation that made Kamila, as well as Sumi's grandmother, jumped in shock.
"My granddaughter, good boy. Home child, never wandering like most girls in this village. Just set foot in the city, he never did. So, of course you have to pay us a big dowry" he continued, convincing Setya's parents, to give him a lot of money.
She tries to take advantage of the opportunity, before Kamila gets married, to take money from the family of her grandson's future husband.
"Hmmm. Alright, Sir. We've all thought about it. However, what Setya decided was, would give the dowry a set of prayer tools to Kamila. Not cash." Mr. Wiguna calmly explained to Parmin's grandfather what he had been with Setya-his son.
"Bahhh. Can't! I do not accept if the dowry given to this child, only in the form of a set of prayer tools. It's useless!" Grandpa Parmin got up from his seat, breaking the wooden table in front of him. The calm attitude shown by Mr. Wiguna, does not necessarily make Parmin's grandfather can hold his anger.
"You are, rich man. It would be inappropriate if you would just give that to this child. You rich man's stingy!" Grandpa Parmin spoke harshly, and his hands pointed alternately at Setya, as well as his parents.
"Grandfather, enough! Don't talk like that. Kamila doesn't need the money, Cake. Kamila just wants to be happy, live with Setya." Kamila couldn't bear to hear all of her Grandfather's words.
"You, don't interfere. I'm doing this, for your own good too, you brat!" Parmin's grandfather's emotions were getting ignited, when he saw Kamila had dared to stop him while talking.
He seemed to be stepping forward towards Kamila. His hand was now ready to be cast towards Kamila's face. However, before that happened, Setya immediately sped up, stopping him.
"Grandfather, stop this! Don't you dare touch Kamila again, my future wife. Or Grandpa, will come face to face with me." Setya got up, and held the hand of Parmin's grandfather, who had approached Kamila's face, until the girl tried to dodge fear. His jaw hardened, seeing Grandpa Parmin's treatment of Kamila, right in front of him.
Grandpa Parmin stared intently at Setya. He took off his hand, from Setya's grasp. He looked very angry at the young man.
"Yeahhhh. Anyway, if you want this kid, you'll have to give me the amount of money I want!" With a rude snort, Grandpa Parmin still tried to get some money from the Setya family. Money that he will certainly use for his personal interests, such as, drunk, and gambling.
"Calm down, sir. Let's finish this with a cool head. Sit, Sir. Setya, let's sit down, son." Mr. Wiguna mediated between Setya and Parmin's grandfather, so that there was no commotion that would invite the attention of the neighbors.
"Alright, I've guessed this before. However, if Grandpa wants to earn money, Grandpa must accept the terms from me!" While sitting down, Setya made a serious offer to Grandpa Parmin, who he believed, would be approved by the old man.
"Requirements. Requirements. Come on, say, hurry!" Disrespectfully, Grandpa Parmin said to Setya.
"Rubber, Son. What requirements do you mean?" asked Mr. Wiguna to wonder at Setya. Because before, Setya did not tell him this.
"Look, Dad, Mommy. After consulting Setya by phone, with Om Ilham last night, Setya made a statement on the stamp, which contained an agreement, so that Grandpa Parmin did not harass and tried to interfere with Setya and Kamila's wedding plans. If Grandpa Parmin is willing to sign this letter, then Setya will give the money he asked for" Setya explained to his father, while giving the letter he took out of his sling bag, for his father to read.
Om Ilham is a cousin of Mr. Wiguna, as well as a Notary, the owner of the office where Setya works part-time.
"Does it have to be like this, son?" After reading the contents of the letter, and returning it to Setya, Pak Wiguna felt bad for Grandma Sumi and Kamila.
Although he knew, that Parmin's grandfather could not be trusted, until a deal like this had to be made, but there was the heart of Kamila and Sumi's grandmother who also had to be guarded.
"Must, Dad. Karna Setya knows what Grandpa's character is. He said that he hated Kamila. But on the other hand, he wanted to squeeze Kamila's sweat, in order to make money for her." Setya is upset given the true nature of Parmin's grandfather.
"That's it, don't have much to say, little boy. Hand me the letter, let me sign it. After that, you have to give ten million money, to me!" parmin's grandfather ketus. He seemed to be impatient to get money from Setya.
"This. Signature on the stamp!" setya orders Parmin's grandfather, holding out a pen to him. And Parmin's grandfather, of course, quickly signed the letter, without having to read the points of the agreement. His mind was blinded by money.
"It's done. Now, here's the money!" Parmin's grandfather asks for the money promised by Setya.
"Now, Grandpa take everything. This money is worth ten million rupiahs. With a promise, from this second on, Grandpa will not hurt, and trouble Kamila again! Otherwise, Grandpa will deal with the police!" gertak Setya while giving an envelope containing cash, which was deliberately taken from his savings, to Parmin's grandfather, who swiftly snatched the envelope containing the money.
"Then this is the case, right, it's equally delicious. Now, whatever you want to do with this kid. I don't give a shit! Just take him to the end of the world, so as not to return to my life. And, yes, take this too, grandmothers. Let's not make it hard, here." Grandpa Parmin got up from his seat, after a slight peek, the contents of the envelope.
"And one more thing, you won't be able to marry the boy. Because, no one knows who the father of the son of the unlucky bearer is. Hahahahahhas. Thanks for this money. I'll have fun." Grandpa Parmin passed away, having managed to open the old wound in Kamila's heart. Grandpa Parmin seemed to be cheering cheerfully, finding the money that was now in his hands.
While Kamila, bowed with tears, and a sense of sadness that hit her heart. If reminded of the figure of Father, Kamila was unable to withstand his sadness. Moreover, he will marry. How could he have had a marriage, without the presence of the father, whose name Kamila did not even know.
Seeing the pain on Kamila's face, Indri who was said to love the beautiful-eyed girl, then approached Kamila, and hugged her tightly. Madam Indri let Kamila cry as she pleased in her arms. In order for the burden on the heart of the girl, it decreases slightly.
"Cry, baby. Just blur. Let your heart feel a little relieved. Mother will always be there for Kamila. Many people love Kamila." Ms. Indri calmed her future son-in-law down, with gentleness.
Nek Sumi, who witnessed it, also shed tears. He was moved, seeing Indri's mother who loved Kamila very much. Nek Sumi was relieved, because Kamila was going to marry the right man, as well as his family who was very appreciative, and loved Kamila.
