Jailangkung Party
3 New Children

Arinda put her bag on the bench. Still empty and morning. No one has come yet. He intentionally arrived early. Sitting on his stool alone. He considered this the most effective therapy. Sit still, do nothing. Only music filled the silence of his walk. Her favorite pop songs became her entertainers. He could go with his mother.

Outside the classroom, the hoarseness of the swept floor also echoed throughout the room. Mr. Asep who is in charge of cleaning the school environment is also busy. The sound of his tongue broom makes the old building typical of the former Dutch heritage hospital feel more alive. Then, the canteen mothers also wash glasses, dishes and prepare a menu that will be flooded with white gray school students.

After that, a teenager set foot for the first time in this school. It's Merri. The steps

not energetic, impressed if he is a bit lazy to go to school. This neighborhood is still so foreign. Yeah, because it's his first day. Not knowing which class she would attend, the girl chose to sit on one of the park benches in front of the teacher's room.

“New boy, son?” asked Mr. Asep who noticed the awkwardness of Merri.

The pale-faced girl nodded.

“Wait there, the teacher will come. It's still early morning Neng, very fast coming.” Said Mr. Asep. Merri is not merubris. He chose silence and then picked up the reading book inside his bag. Feeling neglected Mr. Asep looked upset.

“Child today no polite as parents. Why early in the morning at school?” muttered mr. Asep.

Merri. It still doesn't budge. It's better he gets it than he has to be honest

to the old man . If from earlier a ghost noticed him from a close distance. An unclear figure between a man or woman. The figure was long-haired with a pale face. His eyes were white, with long noses and a big smile. At first glance it looks like a grandmother.

There was no way he had to explain it again, what happened in the old school repeated again and he was considered a strange boy pesky carrier.

One by one the students started coming. So also with the two friends Arinda, namely Karin and Fitri. The quiet and cold bench was instantly warm. Arinda showed off her smile to her two friends. Karin the frenzied and Fitri the childish. Various exclamation stories no matter what the topic makes them laugh.

Shortly thereafter, Tito arrived, accompanied by the roar of the school bell.

“To, lo very unlucky carrier anyway!” karin Ledek.

“There is good, early in the morning already make it aja.” Tito doesn't understand.

“I mean this ugly one, say if you come exactly the same bell in.” Fitri.

“Only I am ugly.” Karin denied, pinching Fitri's cheek.

Tito took the paper from his stool drawer. He rolled and threw towards Karin who was again pinching

Fitris. The first target missed and even hit Arinda who was busy rolling the headset cable.

Arinda turned her head towards Tito and put on a dislike face.

“Sorry, not on purpose.” Her speech.

Then Tito tried a second experiment, he took the paper he rolled with a size larger than

preceding. Then by determining the target that has been sitting in the gang, Tito shot.

Once again, the target missed and was thrown further towards the classroom door. At the same time, the teacher and one

students enter. First step schoolgirl haired shoulder to shoulder and looks small skinny. Although haggard and pale, he saw that there was a sign of danger being pointed at him. Deftly he caught a scroll of paper that could have hit his forehead.

Arinda looked back. Tito is in trouble because of his snubbing.

“Sukuela only, who did it?” ask Tatum's mother, their homeroom teacher. Spontaneous all eyes turned towards Tito, who only showed off a stiff smile.

Tito paid for his actions by standing in the corner of the class. It could be that this will last for two hours of lessons. Karin looks satisfied to see poor Tito. But the class continued. Their attention was more attracted to the new student before him.

“Starting today you will receive new friends. Son, try introducing yourself.” Pinta bu Tatum's.

He was bowed in. This made the whole class curious about him. Arinda looked at his visible hand

nervously. He was holding something that was hanging from his chest.

“Whose business? I what is he?” asked Karin who was glued to the little body of the student.

“Dia.” Bisik Fitri turned towards Merri who was also looking at him and then looked down.

“Means I have to be even tighter on his diet.” Karin Mumbles.

Bu Tatum watched the new student.. He has not spoken, he is silent. All the students in front of him were waiting as well. Tito who was standing in the corner of the classroom also noticed him.

“Nak?” ask a teacher who is old enough and quite scared by school residents.

“Hmm.. My name is Merri Anggraini. Transfer from Bandung.” The sound came out, though small and barely catchable to the whole class.

“Finally speaking too.” Welcome Mrs Tatum. Merri turned his head towards Bu Tatum, he noticed the fierce teacher's face in the corner of his eyes.

It was disrespectful, but Bu Tatum declared it because it was only the first day that this student entered.

“Merri, you sit next to Arinda.”

Arinda picked up her backpack which she had put on this almost month-long empty bench. Even the awkward looking Merri immediately walked in the direction he meant. He feels uncomfortable. All look foreign, so

also with his people. Even he felt bad when he was stared at with a dirty face by two schoolgirls who sat in front of his stool. Who else if not Karin and Fitri.

Karin held her hand up. “Later if Micah comes in again, he sits where, Mom?” ask Karin.

“Later think about it. Currently focus with my subjects.” Ms. Tatum is in control of her class. “Open your package book, we enter new subjects, next week we directly repeat daily.” It was clearly Bu Tatum with his bright voice.

The class looks disappointed. But for the matter of lessons, Ms. Tatum remained with her stance.

Arinda followed Bu Tatum's orders. He picked up a package book that read Physics second grade High School. When starting

opening the page in question, he saw his compatriot who was still sitting. Merri just lowered her head. Again he held his locket.

“You two?” a bit hesitant, but Arinda offers her book. Merri who was a little surprised, noticed the face of his countryman. Although still awkward, he accepts Arinda's good intentions. At least he could divert his fear from that figure since morning who had continued to follow him. The one currently watching him from the window.
