Chapter 002: The First Tragedy (Diamond)

That day was a week after Selena's eighth birthday. The Princess la Diamond I invited Hanna Muthia to accompany her on an excursion. The two of them paid a visit to a small area that was the queen's hometown. Dozens of knights and ladies escorted them. It was a very memorable first trip for both of them.

Well, it should be. The outing should be fun and full of good-meaning impressions. Unfortunately, the safari did not go well. On the way, they were surrounded by a group of violent mountain bandits.

If only they were just ordinary bandits, the knights might be able to handle it. However, the magicians that were with them were extremely troublesome and dangerous. He burned everything he saw to fill his boredom. With its fire and explosion magic, the magician burned the guard knights one by one. He did not even care if there were bandits who were burned by his magic.

Explosion after explosion was heard. His voice rumbled very loud and deafening. The knights desperately held on, while Selena and the young Hanna were trapped inside the horse-drawn carriage without being able to put up a fight.

In between the explosions that continued to sound, there were terrible laughter. The bandits cheered with excitement. They enjoyed the sadistic slaughter that their friends committed.

"Han–Hanna," call Selena in a vibrating voice. He hugged Hanna tightly, trying to calm the girl he was taking on the excursion. "Strong yourself. We need to get out of here."

"Ta—but," Hanna gripped Selena's dress firmly. The five-year-old girl buried her head in the princess's arms deeply. His body is shivering terribly.

Selena was speechless. Actually, he was also very scared right now. His hands were shaking too. Carefully, he tried to peek outside.

Selena's eyes immediately widened. He saw a big explosion. Fire is burning everywhere. The sound of roaring screams and laughter was all out there.

"Tu–Mr Princess!" a knight opened the horse carriage door suddenly. Selena almost screamed hysterically in shock. He saw the knight in a terrible situation. A large burn was visible on his face. His eyes were half gone. His breathing was heavy. Not only that, his body was bleeding full of incisions everywhere.

Without thinking at all, Selena pulled Hanna out of her carriage. Just as the feet of the two were treading the ground, the horse carriage they were riding on exploded. The explosion was so large that Selena and Hanna bounced far enough away. Fortunately, the two are not separate.

In fact, Selena was just as scared as the little girl. His back hurts. It feels hot and painful. Head's dizzy. The fresh blood emanating from the wound on his forehead flowed around the eyes. After arriving at the palace, Queen Clara la Diamond was very surprised to see him. It was then that the princess only knew that her hair had turned completely white. His eyes were as white, even as clear as the purest diamond that was not colored at all.

“Berlian ...,” muttered Selena in one night. He lay in his quarrel. After arriving at the palace, the little princess remembered everything. The rebellion of his half-brother. Death of his father, mother, and siblings. Also, the destruction of his country by division and civil war. The split will also lead to the ravages of the continent by a prolonged war between kingdoms. Not to mention, he will end up being a prisoner in the land of his arch-enemy from outside the continent.

“I have to change my fate,” he said determinedly. Selena remembers everything. After eight years of living in comfort and security, he finally remembered all the destiny that would befall him, the Diamond. Either way, he had to change his sad ending.

“But why do I remember it now?” muttered Selena in sorrow. If he remembered it early on, he would have avoided the tragedy that befell him with Hanna. He would definitely never feel guilty for Earl Muthia's daughter either. “Why do I remember it after being blind? How can I change fate with this poor body?”
