“Sari, let's go straight home,” take me once the last lesson is over, “We should get ready to go to Melati Putih Palace this afternoon.”
“Good, Princess,” replied Sari sprightly.
The news that I was going to attend Princess Diamond I's invitation spread quickly. This whole day, my classmates questioned me several times. They ask that question.
“Mr Princess, are you sure you will go?” more or less so their question. Sometimes someone adds it, “You have to be careful. Bring an amulet from the Holy Temple or you will be hit by the curse of Princess Diamond I.”
Hah ... The boys are paranoid. I investigated Princess Diamond I before leaving here. The first princess was actually a kind girl. He lost his eyesight at the age of seven or eight due to a tragic accident.
“That damned girl! I'm so fucking because of him,” the grunts of a girl caught my attention. Not one, but three. Their appearance was very messy and dirty. Apparently, they had just fallen on the ground, there was even a leaf stuck to the hair of one of them.
“I agree, Bella,” said the shortest girl, “But, instead we don't have to follow Lady Muthia anymore. We'll get unlucky if we keep following him.”
“Ck! Let's go,” the girl whose hair was braided turned around. He looks really upset. “May has a point.”
“Lady Muthia, yes?” I murmured slowly as I watched them leave, “Lady Muthia was the one who delivered the letter to us, right?”
“True, Mr. Princess,” replied Sari who stood beside me, “She is a lady surrounded by rumors just like Princess Diamond I. It seems, there are many parties who hate him because of the curse rumors.”
“That's wrong,” I said slowly, “And yet, they are both innocent at all, but the laymen of this kingdom can only gossip and judge.”
“The rumor is, anyone who approaches Princess Diamond I and Lady Muthia will be affected by the curse,” Sari said that with a slightly bowed face. We walked back to the dormitory. Hearing those words, I asked, “Is that why you rejected Lady Muthia's offer yesterday? Do you believe in those rumors?”
“Bu–not so,” Sari directly trying to refute, “I just don't want to linger outside.”
“What is that all?” I don't believe it then.
“Em ...,” Sari somewhat hesitantly replied, but she still said it, “Actually, I'm afraid you will be exposed to bad gossip because of my actions. So, I'd like to accept the offer.”
“Should,” I smiled thinly and shook my head slowly, “You don't have to think about that. I've known that there will be various rumors spread since I received Princess Diamond I's invitation. That's not a big deal. We will definitely get something useful in White Melati Palace later.”
“Hm,’’ Sari nodded, “I understand, Mr. Princess.”
“Princess Saphira,” call a girl who is plying with us in the middle of the road. The girl was accompanied by a young man who was very similar to her. They were like a betel in two if the young man had long hair. They were both my classmates, Princess Ellia la Diamond and Prince Allan la Diamond.
“Princess Saphira, are you really going to come to White Melati Palace?” princess Ellia asked with a tearful face.
Hais ... that question again. Why does he have to have such a face? The mimic seemed to indicate that he was worried that I would go to the most dangerous place. Do they think that I will go to the castle of the evil witch in the novels?
“Princess Saphira, you better go with us,” continued Prince Allan, “We will make an observation of the capital this afternoon. It would be more fun than sitting with my sister.”
Ha's? Had he forgotten the noble etiquette he had learned. How could he possibly snatch a guest who already had an appointment with a princess?
“Thank you for the attention of the two of you, His Highness the Prince and Princess” said I replied to his offer, “But, I already promised Princess Diamond I. So, I can't accept both of your calls.”
“But, you will only lose if you come to my sister's palace,” said Princess Ellia anxiously, “Kakak–Princess Diamond I has been exposed to a cruel witch's curse. Even the priests of the Holy Temple could not cure him. I'm afraid you'll catch the curse.”
“What curse is contagious?” I said questioning that baseless logic, “If the curse is contagious, no one will want to work in the White Melati Palace, right? However, Grand Duchess Lambordy who is famous for her greatness even wants to be in charge there and she remains fine.”
“It ...,” Princess Ellia is out of words. The girl looked at her brother. The stared Prince Allan directly took over his words, “Princess, it doesn't matter if you don't want to come with us. However, you better be careful when meeting my brother.”
“Thank you for the warning, Fourth Prince,” reply me flat, “I will always be careful.”
Sari and I left them both. Our time has been much wasted. We need to get ready soon. As a princess, I can't be late at all.
That afternoon, I took a short break before Sari dressed me up. When the time came to leave, the carriage from the embassy picked us up. The horse sais asked the same thing as the people. It became the same question the umpteenth time today. I also told him not to think.
“Welcome, Princess Saphira,” greet an old woman whose face is already wrinkled here and there, but still exudes high authority. He's probably in his fifties. He was firm and cold. “One honor to meet you.”
“I am the one who should be honored to be able to meet you, Grand Duchess Lambordy,” reply me politely, “You are a great figure who is famous all the way to our Sapphire Kingdom.”
The woman was Margaretha Lambordy, Grand Duchess of Lambordy who was in charge of the White Melati Palace. He served Princess Diamond I for a reason. In the past, she was a high-class mingling star that was even more famous than Lady Ruby.
“Let's follow me, Princess Saphira. Princess Diamond I is already waiting for your presence,” invite her who then turns away after I nod. Sari and I followed him. We walked down a neat rocky path. There are two types of stones arranged to make the path. Apparently, this road was designed specifically for the blind Princess Diamond I.
Along the way, Grand Duchess Lambordy told a brief story about the princess. What he said was far different from the rumors. He also had time to express his regret for not being able to stem the rumors of the first princess.
“Mr Princess, Princess Saphira has come,” Grand Duchess Lambordy calls a girl who is sitting with three other girls. Ah, there was someone else coming apparently. I also saw a white haired girl standing with a sincere smile on her face. She was the Princess of Diamond I. Friendly, he welcomed me, “Welcome, Princess Saphira. Thank you for accepting my invitation.”
