Hands clenched. The turban is already tanned from the original pure white. His hands and feet were shackled in chains and he was whipped by the executioner of Sultan Khorasan Raya.
"Give up, Ahmad! Or you'll die!!" so said the executioner who became the leader of torture.
"I've never been afraid of dying to fight for justice."
At that sentence, the blonde-bearded and charming man was again whacked by a herd of executioners. Some whipped her, some beat her, some even tried to strip her of her clothes to humiliate her.
"Tomorrow morning, an Ahmad will be used as a teasing material in the city square if he does not obey the Sultan!"
After that, they left the old man alone, inside the iron bars. He was one of the priests of the land of Persia. Priests who live after the death of more than other famous priests.
He is not Imam Ahmad bin Hambal. He is a servant of Allah who still holds the teachings of Islam but the ruler is hostile to him because of it. Its determination is considered to interfere with the stability of the government.
His priestly office was terminated because of the Sultan who was now so despotic and someone who cut in a fold for the Muslims.
In the dynamics of history, criminalization of clerics is not new. There are many scholars who for the sake of truth, dare to criticize the ruler. They are straight scholars who are not glared with the lure of rulers and worldly interests. The truth will be said to be true; and the wrong will be said to be false. The Prophet's hadith regarding the primacy of jihad to despotic rulers and tyrants is well held by them. As a result of this persistence, they can experience criminalization and torture.
A great scholar named Sa'id bin al-Musayyib had experienced criminalization when he refused baiat to the son of Abdul Malik (al-Walid and Sulaiman) in exchange for Abdul Aziz bin Marwan, finally Hisham bin Ismail, who was the son of the latter, as the Governor of Medina sanctioned 60 lashes for him, and was imprisoned.
Worse than that, Sa'id bin Jubair a Tabi'in was beheaded by Hajjaj bin Yusuf al-Tsaqafi, who was the commander of the 'iron hand' of the Ummaite caliphate, for opposing the Umavid caliphate with Ibn al-Ash'ats. For the sake of holding the truth, he was undaunted even if he had to die in the end.
During the Abbasid caliphate, Imam Abu Hanifa was flogged and imprisoned by al-Manshur for refusing to be made Qadhi.
In the era of the Umawiyah Dynasty, precisely when Marwan bin Muhammad became the ruler. Imam Abu Hanifah was offered the magistrate's office, but he insisted on rejecting it. As a result, in an area called Al-Kinasah, he was flogged a hundred times. Even before, when the Imam rejected Ibn Hubairah's offer to be the manager of Jerusalem, he was finally whipped.
In line with the story, Imam Sufyan Ats-Tsauri had a dispute with al-Mahdi because he did not want to be made Qadhi, until he finally fled to Bashrah.
The fate of Imam Malik ibn Anas is also not much more beautiful, he was flogged for defying the orders of Abu Ja'far al-Manshur, for still narrating the hadith, "There is no talaq for the forced."
Wahid Abdussalam Bali in the book "Ulama wa Umar'" recounts Imam Malik's conflict with the ruler. Once upon a time, Ja'far ibn Sulaiman - the cousin of Abu Ja'far Al-Manshur - had ill intentions for Imam Malik. It accuses rumors that he did not recognize the leadership of Ja'far Al-Manshur. Hearing the news, Abu Ja'far's ears were hot, and he ordered his soldiers to drunk him.
His students, also experienced difficult things with the ruler. The Shafi'i Imam was accused of being a supporter of the Shia by his patron, Mutharrif bin Mazin. In fact he provoked Caliph Harun Ar-Rashid to arrest Imam Shafi'i and the alawiyin people. Hammad al-Barbari was sent to arrest Imam Shafi'i and the alawites. He was chained with iron with alawites from Yemen to Raqqah, the home of Aaron Ar-Rashid How miserable it was to be chained with iron from Yemen to Baghdad.
Ahmad bin Hanbal also had a more painful fate with the ruler. He was flogged, imprisoned for 30 months by Ma'mun for not recognizing the conquest of the Qur'an as mu'tazilah believed.
Imam Bukhari finally left his country because he was "trying to get rid of" by the ruler of Dhahiriyah in Bukhara at that time, Khalid bin Ahmad al-Dzuhali. The reason, Imam Bukhari refused Khalid's request to teach the books of "al-Jammi'" and "al-Trikh" in his house. Bukhari reasoned, it should be the ones who need knowledge who come to him, not the scholars who come to the needy. In the end, Bukhari left his country.
According to Ibn al-Aththar, Imam Nawawi is a cleric who dared to face directly with the ruler. For the sake of truth, he was not afraid of being reproached. If he is unable to face it directly, he delivers criticism by sending a letter.
One time, due to very sharp criticism of Sultan Dhahir Baibars, almost Imam Nawawi was criminalized and tortured. This criticism of Imam Nawawi was directed at the ruler because of the Hauthah case. At the heart of the problem, since Dhahir was in Damascus - after the Tatar defeat - he entrusted the management of Jerusalem to the Hanafi madzhaf. Based on the Hanafi school, the property controlled by the Tatars (enemies), then automatically the property is controlled by the ruler. Then Imam Nawawi and other scholars criticized the opinion. And the strongest criticism was that of Imam Nawawi.
The Sultan was angry and thought that it was done by Imam Nawawi because the interests of worldly office had been removed. As it turns out, he has absolutely no office and world interests. After this misunderstanding ended, Imam Nawawi was loved and exalted by Sultan Dhahir Baibars.
The fate of other scholars who are no less difficult is as experienced by Imam Ibn Taymiyyah reported to Emir Humsh al-Afram, by the Sufis. Until finally because it was considered to create unrest by his haters, he was imprisoned, and died in prison.
Ahmad bin Adam bin Ayyub also imitated the previous imam. He is not afraid of the world's threats. He is more subject to his Lord.
His grandfather was one of these khanate pedirs. Ayyub helped with his wealth and knowledge for the civil land that the Mongolian converts dreamed of. Some more spread in Turkey and the Indian subcontinent, they were successful in ruling with the caliphate system.
They are actually Mongolians who have embraced Islam but still follow their typical brutality. It has not been removed how they damaged the world's science center at the time in Baghdad. Like a river of ink that flows when their ink and books are thrown into the river.
Sultan Khoorasan was led by Israil bin Daud bin Umar. His father named him that way because when he was born, his father and mother were on a night trip to the Mongolian capital and wished to be God-given. In addition, this name is also expected to make it moral and well-served like the prophet Ya'qub Alaihissalam.
Hope is gone now. Because the queen mother and empress of Mongolia so vengeful to the Farsi people. Israel sat on the throne because he had killed his youngest brother Sulaiman, who had been told by their father to sit on the throne.
Ahmad raised his hand from behind bars. Begging and asking God.
"Yes Divine .. I can no longer bear to endure their torment. My body is weak and no one else wants to practice Your Sharia. O Lord of the Universe ..Just as Your Prophet and Apostle Zakariya, I have never been disappointed in praying to You."
With a soft word, he said again, "Gift me a son who will inherit the family of Adam the son of Ayyub, and make him a man whom Thou hast known, O God. Who will defend this religion and free this country from real misguidance."
After the prayer, he closed his eyes in a sitting position. In his shadow he remembered his wife who was at home. Had waited for him with a bulging stomach.
"Oh God! How long have I been leaving my wife?" ogre.
At the end of his consciousness he mentioned his wife's name, "Khadijah. May Allah protect you and bless our affairs."

Astaghfirullaahal 'adziim ...

Astaghfirullaahal 'adzim al ladzii laa ilaaha Illaa huwal hayyul Qayyuum wa atuubu Ilaih ...
Astaghfirullaahal 'adzim lii alimiina wal muslimaat al ahyaa i minhum wal amwaat.
Istighfar congregated after dawn prayers were sung at the white mosque, led by Imam Ahmad bin Adam bin Ayyub. All three were high priests of Khorasan and Persia. Ayyub was succeeded by Adam and continued by Ahmad.
All of them, namely Imam Ahmad and his worshipers preached a hundred times to the Haq God.
"Robbana dzholamna anfusana ...,"
Imam Ahmad raised his hand in the air. Started the prayer that the father of the human beings once said, Adam Alaihissalam.
"Robbana dzholamna anfusana ...," he repeated. The sentence was spoken four times, then after that he connected again.
"Purpusan naghfirlana .. watarhamna .. lana kunanna minal kho .. siriin."
He slightly sobbed as he said that prayer.
"Faghfirlana ya Ghoffar, faghfirlana ya Ghoffur, faghfirlana ya Rahman, faghfirlana ya Robbl 'alamin ...."
Until this sentence, all worshippers shed tears in remembrance of the sins they had committed before.
"Faghfirlana o Allah .. faghfirlana o Allah .. faghfirlana ya Allah .. faghfirlana ya Allah .. faghfirlana ya Allah ... faghfirlana ya Allah ..." so much more clearly heard. Both from the Imam and his congregation. They ask Allah for forgiveness for their sins until they are subjected to painful trials.
"Faghfirlana yes Robbana .. faghfirlana yes Khaliqana .. faghfirlana yes Roziqona .. faghfirlana yes Arhamar Rohimin."
Unceasingly the priest asked Allah Subhana Vata 'Ala for forgiveness so that all those in the land of Persia would be blessed, given gifts and their land endowed.
"O Allah, yes Rahman Rahimin ...,"
Imam Ahmad continued the prayer after the sobbing of his worshippers eased slightly.
"Nobody among Your servants, unless they have sinned against You. Even Your prophets have done You wrong. Then when they ask for Your forgiveness, You forgive God."
The Father of men, Adam .. never made a mistake before You, and when he asked for forgiveness, You forgave, O God."
Noah sinned against You, and when he asked for forgiveness, You forgave him, O Allah."
So did Moses, You forgave his sin when he asked forgiveness for his mistake. Prophet Abraham did too. You forgive him when he asks forgiveness for his guilt to You."
Even ... Your glorious prophet ... Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wassalam made a mistake. And when he asks for your forgiveness ... You forgive him, O God."
We believe that no one asks You for forgiveness unless You forgive him, O God."
You do not care as much as the sins of Your servant, You must forgive. The sins we commit do not harm or benefit You, O God. Our sins hurt us. Thou art omnipotent, all-mighty, O God. You are Ghoffar, You are Ghoffur, You are Rohman, You are Rohim, You are Karim, You are Ra'uf, You are the Judge. Yes, Allah .. forgive our sins."
Do not destroy us with our sins."
"Do not deprive our husbands of affection for our sins. Do not take away the love between father and son, as well as children and parents. And above all, O Allah, do not take us away from the Messenger of Allah in the Fields of Mahshar for our sins, O Allah. Do not punish us for our sins."
Surely Your mercy precedes Your wrath, O Allah."
O Robbana ..do not inflict misfortune upon our people because of our sins, O God. Do not test us with unjust leaders, precisely because of our sins as a society, O God. Do not deprive thee of the blessings of our land."
O Allah forgive the sins of the Muslim women of this nation, the youth and all. Forgive God so that Your blessings and mercy can be brought down on us."
Robbana dzholamna anfusana, wailam taghfirlana watarhamna lana kunanna minal. Laailaha Illa anta, subhanaka inni kunna minadz dzolimin."
We know that Jonah Alaihissalam made a mistake with You. Then you put him to the test. You let him drown in the dark sea. In the sea he asks for Your forgiveness, Robbana: Laailaha Illa anta subhanaka inni kuntuminadzolimin."
Then your currents tremble. Forgive his sins and save him from the disaster. So save us from all the misfortunes caused by our sins, O Allah. Save us in this world and the Hereafter, O God."
Do not cover our hearts for our sins, O God. Who else can guide if You close the heart of Your servant, O God."
Astaghfirullah rabbal barroya. Astaghfirullah rabbal barroya. Astaghfirullah rabbal barroya .. astaghfirullah minal khotoya."
"Robbana atina fiddunya hasanah wa file endoti hassanah wa qina adzabannar."
When he finished filling the tabligh in the white mosque, Imam Ahmad bin Adam bin Ayyub was arrested for his prayers in the white mosque. The prayer that the leader says is a prayer that endangers the stability of the government.
In the courtyard of the mosque, he was paraded like the previous Shafi'i imam. He was chained to his hands and feet and walked towards the palace. Not only that, Ahmad was also stoned during the trip to the palace.
Arriving at the palace, he was tried at the Sultan's trial. His heart wept at the almost undressed ladies-in-waiting around Sultan Israel. His eyes he closed while praying in his heart for the veiled abuse of women of his country by the ruler.
"Priest Ahmad, Assalamu'alaikum!" said Israel from above the throne.
The priest replied to the greeting of the ruler of the country who opened—— was released from ignorance——by Caliph Amirul Mukminin Umar bin Khattab.
"What have I done, O Amir-ul Mukminin? So that I was humiliated in such a way?"
Sultan Israel smiled in a slant. "You're launching propaganda. You are the provocateur who took refuge under the banner of Tawhid!"
Ahmad bin Adam was silent for a moment. As he remembered, he did not do that.
"Isn't it obligatory to obey the ruler, Imam Ahmad?"
"Yes, Amir-ul Mukminin. Right."." Right."
"Then why did you ban my people from drinking and going to women?! In the meantime make them happy! The welfare and happiness of the people is my responsibility."
The priest of Persia was a. His heart was sliced over the tyranny of his sultan's words.
"Everything that damages the body and morals is haram in our Shari'a, O Shahenshah. Do not invite the wrath of God. Surely all will be accounted for in the hereafter."
Sultan Israel laughed loudly. "The fictitious threat of the fiction of the Arabs is so sure, Imam. Have you ever been to the afterlife and witnessed it firsthand? Not yet, is it? You can't prove everything the book wrote! Fairy tales, fictional and should we change the book with typical Persian rules and evoke the customs of the culture of the Magi as our ancestors."
"Relieve you, Israel the son of David! May the grace never come to you again! May you perish as the people of 'Aad and the disobedient people before!"
The minister, who was also a distant cousin of his half-brother Israel, ambushed when he arrived at the court.
He went straight to court when one of his beliefs reported that Imam Ahmad was discriminated against.
Zakariya ibn Musa ibn Imran. He is the only minister who is subject to the law of God. He never trembled in calling for the truth and criticizing governments far from sharia.
It was the last day that Zakariya ibn Musa breathed. Because at that time the sultan of Khorasan beheaded right in front of Ahmad and other retainers. Some of the maids shouted because of the enormity of his slash.
Imam Ahmad was surprised. Saying innalilahi wainnailaihi raji'un in a sad tone.
"The disaster is coming, Amir-ul Mukminin! Repent! Allah is Forgiving, the Sultan. Don't make this country perish because of injustice."
"Soldier! Imprison Ahmad bin Adam and torture him until he issues his halal fatwa of wine and comes to women without marriage! Pursue his wife if she doesn't want to!"
"Your Shahadah has fallen, Israel! Ask for mercy!" imam Ahmad said as he was dragged like a beast until he entered the bars.
*****
The news of Imam Ahmad's arrest has reached the ears of his father-in-law, Yahya bin Uthman. He immediately went to his favorite daughter, Khadijah. Intend to take him to a place far from Khorasan. Because he knew, Sultan Israel would definitely pursue the family of Imam Ahmad. The Persian ruler has been famous for his tyranny for the past three years. He justifies all that is forbidden by religion.
"Don't I have to ask my husband's permission first, Dad?" khadijah asked as Yahya bin Uthman urged him to leave the capital Khorasan and take refuge in a remote village in Persia for a while.
"Imam Ahmad was imprisoned by Amir-ul Mukminin, my daughter."
Hearing the news, Khadijah immediately said the word shahadah and beristighfar.
"My ahmad, what's going on?" he stroked his large stomach.
"That despotic ruler will come after you too to make things difficult for your husband."
"But, Dad. Without the husband's permission, isn't it illegal for the wife to get out of the house?"
For a moment, Yahya bin Uthman was stunned. He felt proud because the teachings of Islam were absorbed well by his daughter.
"If pressed, Islam allows. Come, Son. I'd regret a lifetime if I couldn't save you."
Khadija, the most beautiful woman in Persia who is said to exceed the beauty of the queen Khorasan was flinching. In that silence, the door of his house was knocked. A sense of anxiety enveloped his heart.
Yahya, his father approached the door when Khadijah entered his room. Yahya opened the door, a young man saying his daughter's greeting.
"Assalamu'alaikun, Sheikh Yahya!"
Sheikh Yahya answered the greetings of the young man.
"I am Ali, sent by Imam Ahmad to deliver this letter to Sheikh and Sayyidah Khadijah."
Yahya bin Uthman nodded, "Shukron, jazaakallaallahu!"
Then the young man named Ali was furious. Yahya. Ali is not alone. Not far from there were some men waving Tawhid flags, black and white with the words: Laa ilaaha Ilallah. Muhammadur the Prophet, in Persian Arabic script.
Yahya bin Uthman speculated that it was the pilgrims of Imam Ahmad who were not afraid to resist the evil. The door of the house was closed when the group was far away. Yahya called his daughter and conveyed what Ahmad had sent through his envoy named Ali.
"I never knew there was a congregation called Ali. How does it look, Dad?"
"I can only remember, he and his flock raided Ar-rayah and Al-liwa', Khadijah."
Khadijah received a letter from his father. "Read on! I will also read a letter from my daughter-in-law. Go to your room, son."
Khadija. He's feeling bad. And that's exactly what happened. Her husband died in prison, and she was widowed.

Note:
The prayer that Imam Ahmad recited was the prayer that Ustadz Teuku Hanan Attaki chanted. I heard it on the radio and somehow got a picture. Be this writing. [I'm sure to change a little. It should be the country of Indonesia, I changed to another Persian. .. almost the same].
I only remember prayer and the ustadz, forgetting when and where.
