He Who Came Among Us

He Who Came Among Us
Break up for a moment

I waited all night for news from my husband not to come, but I missed his voice. A little upset that my phone didn't pick up either. Trying to send a message is not read. I feel ignored now.

Morning discourages me. My mind wants to quickly return to his embrace. But I had to make a visit to the police station to resolve my curiosity.

Eldred and Garreth had been waiting in the dining room, "miss sleeping well?" greet Garreth. I'm nodding.

"It doesn't seem to." Garreth investigated my grim facial expression. Eldred struck his son's arm, "don't bother him. Let the lady have breakfast" he said.

Eldred poured me a glass of milk, "what will you do today. Want to check the plantation as usual?" friendly bargain. I'm shaking.

"No uncle, I'll visit the police station." Obviously, while drinking the milk given.

"It's still morning!" eldred exclaimed, "miss can go there during the day," he added.

I shook my head in a doldrums, "Soka will pick me up during the day, and I should be there in the afternoon" I said.

"Ah, you just said Garth would take you home" Eldred suggested. I smiled, but I refused his advice. I grimaced at his proposal.

"He's a cruel husband." Shit Garreth from the end of the table.

Eldred beat his son, "your speech is rude, I see that the lady's husband loves her very much, '" Eldred commented scolding his son.

Garreth rubbed the father's mark, "It's just camouflage, a mask to cover his rot from you." The one who disappeared left his breakfast.

"What's wrong with her?" said Eldred upset at Garreth's behavior in front of me. "I'm sorry miss, I taught her less. His return from abroad completely changed his attitude," Eldred revealed his grievances.

"Not to scold him uncle. Let it. Maybe he needs an environmental adjustment here" I suggested Eldred.

"Omong empty. Miss always spoils and defends her, she becomes stubborn" Eldred said.

"I don't," I pleaded.

Eldred switched the conversation, "miss you didn't call him first?" I frowned not knowing what Eldred meant, "the cop number you gave me?"

"Ah, no need, if not meet maybe can come next time," I replied.

"Like it, miss. Then how was the visit to the factory yesterday, you like it?,"

I smiled as Eldred asked, "yes I like it. Dad's amazing." Eldred smiled happily at it.

"Thank God it makes the lady radiant. You're gonna sell it?" the question then made me choke.

"No uncle, I won't do it. I'll keep it." It was obviously me who was greeted with a smile by him.

"Thank God the uncle was happy to hear the lady was excited again. What about your husband?" tanyanya.

"It remains a secret to anyone" I said.

"Even your husband!" Eldred convinced me of my answer.

"Yes," I said. Until I am sure he loves me, my heart says.

"Uncle will support miss, believe me!" support Eldred.

I smiled as I put corn soup and a piece of bread into my mouth. Garreth came back, his expression was normal, "you're done, let's go" he asked.

Eldred glanced at his son's behavior, "Sopanlah a little. Don't just because you're older can talk rudely to the lady" Eldred scolded his son.

I laughed at the visit in front of me. "You have to be polite to me, Garth," my lead.

"Oh yeah, you don't call me Garth then."

"What should I call you?"

"Garth's servants are better suited" he said.

"Alright waitress Garth." I laughed after saying it. Eldred's breath sounded harsh.

"You better go, uncle dizzy with your jokes." We laughed at Eldred's grievances and said goodbye to him who was now complaining of headaches because of our behavior.

Rosewood police station in the morning has started to get crowded. I was told to wait, when I asked a man named Matteo. Garreth talked while waiting.

"I've been thinking all night" he began, "I don't trust your husband, so I beg you to persuade him to hire me. As a driver it doesn't matter, or as a waiter, whatever work I do. As long as I can be by your side I'll do it" he said.

I paused for a moment in his words. "Why Garth?"

"That's all?" I tried to break his heart.

"Hm! That's it."

"Then there's no need" I replied firmly, "you and uncle have done the best for my family. I appreciated. Now live for yourself."

He only smiled, a glimpse of a sad expression coming at his friendly face, "i was wrong to have ignored you but I want to make up for it now."

"Help me with the factory and the plantation. That's enough for me" I said.

It's a matter of agreeing or refusing. Garreth looked straight ahead, ignoring me waiting for an answer. When my mouth would open to speak, Garreth stood up.

"It seems we waited too long. I'll ask if that person has come" he said.

Without waiting for my answer, Garreth had stepped away from me and disappeared while turning the corner.

What mistake?.

During the wait, I fiddled with my phone, hoping for news from Topaz. But that is just my hope.

I moved from my place, frustrated or his behavior turned cold again.

I should have refused to make out with him, I did not learn of my first mistake.

"Babeh.." A rough breath came out of my mouth.

"Miss tired?" Garreth's voice caused me to turn to him.

"Hows it? When did the man named Matteo come," I asked.

"They can't be sure."

"Better we go home," I finally gave up.

"it's not noon yet" Garreth argued in order to undo my intention of going home. "Please wait a minute" he asked.

I just nodded in agreement to his request, but was already reluctant to sit where Garreth had placed himself in the chair.

"I'm sorry for my behavior today. My mood is bad" he explained.

"I understand." I answered without looking at him.

After that we did not speak anymore, only the atmosphere of the police station was crowded in the middle of our silence.

...****************...

At the same time in Aquamarine City, Topaz was still in her brawl griya, Soka approached her.

"This, list of names of Asistan for Madam." Topaz received the document.

"Go to Rosewood, I want my wife here by noon."

Soka immediately bailed to carry out her duties. After Soka left, the activity of checking the documents given by Soka was stopped.

Topaz picked up his phone instead, observing how many messages and phones his wife was doing.

His smile was on his face as he watched her, "so do you miss me, Ruby."

"We'll have lunch together, I hope Soka quickly brings you here."

The doorbell rang, his mind focused on his wife now distracted.

"Who? There's no way Ruby's back this fast, Soka just left. But it could be, who knows," he said.

Topaz rose from his seat, joy in his heart until it emanated on his face.

"Ah, apparently lady Zephyr took the initiative herself," he murmured.

"Behold dear." Topaz deliberately shouted to be heard out the door.

His footsteps were so lightly welcoming the guest he thought his wife was.
