Advice from Rista's Mother

This morning the air was cold. And the cloud that covers the sky, makes the Sun unable to show itself. Rista still survives in her room and is still covered. Until now he had just been lying down while staring at the window. Seeing the rain falling gently.

He couldn't sleep after a whole night of thinking about Bary.

It's not that he's hurt because Bary doesn't like him. But he kept thinking because Bary chose Dinda as his partner.

As long as he knew Dinda, he came to understand Dinda's qualities. At first he did not like Bary's relationship with Dinda because he felt Bary did not fit with Dinda. But after Bary told himself if he did not like it, Rista became lost the sense of Bary.

He no longer cares about Bary's relationship with Dinda. But in reality when Bary said that if he had dated Dinda, Rista's heart seemed to crumble.

He was devastated to hear Bary's honesty. He cannot accept that reality. He thought that even though Bary and Dinda were very close, their closeness was only natural. He never thought that the closeness of Bary and Dinda all this time because they have been bound by a relationship.

" Bary, Linda.. Satisfied you guys, I got to thinking about your relationship. I really can't accept this fact. You guys are so fucking strong!" rista said while crying in her room.

Rista's screams rang out of his room. Rista's mother hurriedly opened the door of Rista's unlocked room.

" Rista..What's up, son? Why are you screaming and crying? Same story mom."

" Mom.." said Rista and hugged her mother.

" What's up? What are you crying about?"

" Mommy.my eyes hurt."

" What's sick? Who hurt you?"

" Bary, Mom."

" Bary? Why did he hurt you, tell Mom."

" He doesn't like Rista. She'd rather have Dinda be her boyfriend, ma'am."

" What?! Ristas.. You hurt because Bary was dating Dinda?" said Ms. Rista.

Dinda just nodded her head. His mouth is unable to speak. Her crying prevented her from making a sound.

" ristone.. Do you realize how old you are now?"

Rista nodded his head again. He could not answer everything his mother asked.

" Remember, Rista. You just finished Junior High. Don't think about love. It's not good for your future. Let Bary and Dinda date. You don't follow them. I don't agree that you're dating."

Rista did not respond to any words from her mother. He was busy with his crying. He hates to cry and hopes that his cry will soon subside. But the more he tried, the pain in him seemed to continue to increase.

" ristone.. You're your father's only son's pride. You are the next generation of your parents. I want you to be a great person. Because if you become like that, what you want will be easy for you to achieve. Take Mom and Dad for example. We were tied up in marriage without going through a courtship.

The relationship is not good, it is not healthy, it will ruin your future. Even though Bary and Dinda are smarter than you, they won't be as lucky as you. Trust in Mom. Their love at this age will not necessarily last until they get to the seat of pelaminan.

So, I remind you once again. Never go out. Wait till it's time. If you want a partner, get married. Married a responsible man. His nature is good and certainly able to give you happiness. Do you understand what I mean?"

But he never thought about the bad effects of dating. Lucky his mother knew the anxiety of his heart and immediately advised him.

" Rista understands, Mother. Sorry Rista. Rista wanted to have a boyfriend. But the boyfriend Rista wants is Bary. Bary is now dating Dinda. And Rista doesn't know that Bary's been dating for a long time. My heart hurts, Mother. They were both my friends but they lied to me by covering up their relationship."

Rista's mother smiled. He understood what his daughter was feeling right now. He stroked Rista's fine hair and kissed her.

" Just try if you know you want to have a girlfriend from the first, I will advise you. But why should Bary be the one you want to make a girlfriend?"

" Bary is good, Mom. I know for myself, how it is. He is also a person who likes to work hard. Helping his parents make money for his father's treatment."

" Yes, I know. He's also handsome, right. Mother likes him very much. I'm sure, whoever the soul mate is, it'll be very happy to get Bary."

" So you agree that Bary's a good guy? What if we were to get married someday, Mom would bless our relationship?"

" I think Mom agreed and then let me get close to Bary. It turns out..."

" Ahaahaha.. You better focus on learning first. Remember, you just finished Junior High. Your journey is still far away. Do you want to bury all your dreams?"

" Yes I know. But I could, if I wished. At least I have a purpose. So wherever I go, I know where I'm back."

" Your words make me feel that you are not a child anymore."

" I'm no longer a child, am I, Mom."

" Hehe.iya. All right, listen to Mom. Hope you understand what Mom means. Tomorrow we leave our home. We're going to Jakarta for a week. Then we'll go abroad. You still don't know your purpose? And you're still wondering where you came back?"

" That's not what Rista meant. It means that if I can get close to that Bary, wherever I go, I'll keep coming back to Bary. That's what I mean."

" Mom understands. One thing you have to do to make your dream run smoothly and without obstacles."

" What is it, Mom?"

" You forget everything that kept you here. And think of something beautiful in your destination. Surely you will feel at home there and you will get something more at your destination.

I hope you don't think about Bary anymore. Forget him and never let him break into your mind. Besides you said, he lied to you, didn't he. So there's no reason to always think about it.

" Hemhh.it feels heavy. But I do have to. And now I don't care about him anymore. He told me plainly that he didn't like me. He lied to me for two years. I can't accept all of that. Heart hurts. But that's the truth. I have to let her go for another girl."

" You should forget about it, Rista. Look at your future. I'm sure you'll make it. Don't give up, I'll always be there for you. Pray for you, help you, and obviously, I'll never leave you."

" Thank you, Mother. I'm so happy to have parents like Mom. I'll keep trying to make Mom proud of me."

" Nah.it's just the mother's child." said Rista's mother while hugging Rista tightly.
