Great Swordsman

Great Swordsman
Ch.83 - Exposed

In the camp, the atmosphere was as quiet as ever. Except for the two grumbling sounds, everything was basically so peaceful.

“Sial, you said you are good at cooking?” Xu Feng spat on the floor while pointing at the large cooking pot above the fire. His voice was a little annoyed and regretful, he was annoyed at believing the Raging Bear to cook and he regretted tasting this bad meal.

“What do you mean bastard.?” Raging Bear gritted his teeth furiously, he had always been proud of his cooking skills. The Raging Bear snatched the spoon from Xu Feng's hands and roared in annoyance, he really looked like a wild bear, “You know what? The fact that I was able to live up to this point is due to my cooking skills, there must be something wrong with your tongue.”

Xu Feng's mouth twitched, he was a little astonished that there was a person who could live with such bad cuisine. If not for Xu Feng knowing the ingredients the Bears Raged on, he might have already suspected this man was actually concocting poison.

“Didn't you almost finish your sugar stock? Why does it feel like this?”  Xu Feng looked at the Raging Bear in astonishment and strange, he really did not understand what composition this man was using.

How could sugar change the taste in his hands?

“You, quiet!” The Raging Bear was at the tip of the horn, he wanted to hit Xu Feng but recalled that not too long ago, Xu Feng had easily thrown him like a sack for picking poisonous mushrooms to eat. He even brought it to Xu Feng so arrogantly. If not for Xu Feng using his qi energy to drag out the remaining poison from his body, his name might have already been engraved on the tombstone.

Xu Feng was helpless, he felt like he wanted to split the head of this person to see what his brain was made of. Xu Feng sighed, “Deliver this task to me, you better go on patrol.”

The Raging Bear wanted to refuse but before it could speak, Xu Feng threw it viciously. Due to his strong body, Xu Feng did not even need to hold back, he did not have to worry about whether the Raging Bear would be injured.

A bear-sized body flew like a kite.

…..

“Sial.”

Somewhere far from the camp, there was an intense fight. Bodies were lying everywhere, blood spots dotted the ground and many gaping holes were scattered around the area.

The fight between the two sides was so cruel and brutal, claiming lives every second of it. If heeded carefully, one party seemed to be rushing over without a care for the victim on their side whereas the other party was trying to endure desperately.

“Kill!” The chairman shouted through his heavy lungs, he was already almost out of breath. His body was covered in blood and covered in wounds, one of his hands was almost dislodged and his face was pale and weak. His body condition is tragic.

The condition of the other members is as bad as the chairman, some have even lost one of his limbs. In this battle, half of them had died!

Aside from the Green Mask who had just returned from the mission and joined them, the other two Seventh Stage sacrificed themselves by burning their life force to save the chief from the encirclement of the Division Commanders.

The chairman assessed the situation and gritted his teeth, from the very beginning they had realized there was no chance of escaping so they decided to fight like crazy. The reason why he had yet to burn his life force was because he wanted to harvest the enemy's life as much as possible.

“I'm sorry.” The chairman muttered softly while thinking about what had just happened.

Their plan worked. They had originally poisoned the lake using the Black Carcass Poison. And as per their predictions, the enemy troops were completely off guard.

Shortly after setting up camp, the exhausted soldiers did not think long and crammed into the lake to gulp water. The moment when it was chaotic, physical and mental exhaustion caused the soldiers to lose their discipline. The higher-ups realized the chaos and tried to bring order but they could not do much, the soldiers had already gone to the lake first. None of them realized that such a pure lake contained the angel of death.

What followed was mass death. The Black Carcass Poison was a poison that would react after five minutes, and it was an extremely powerful poison capable of killing Fourth Stage cultivators!

It was only when they realized the strangeness of the soldier who had just been drinking from the lake, only then did some war veterans realize something was wrong and stare carefully at the lake. But their vigilance was too late, they were already unable to stop the impending calamity.

The result was that nearly two thousand soldiers were killed, and it happened simultaneously. Just imagine the visual impact produced by the event. Even a hundred pigs that fall simultaneously has a great impact, especially when thousands of humans experience it. If it were not for the existence of the Healing Pill, which although limited, it could be expected that the number of casualties would increase.

Some of the soldiers were on the verge of going mad, some were trembling in fear and some fainted from being unable to keep their minds up. They were all young blood who had never even experienced an actual battle, that hell-like scene must have weighed on their souls so naively.

Even veterans were shaken by it, let alone those who had never seen blood.

The incident then brought the chairman and the others to this situation. The enemy Legion Commander's anger is ignited and he gives orders to search for the perpetrator who caused the mass death. Even the four Division Commanders, who were each at the Eighth Stage, decided to intervene.

Before the chairman and team managed to go any further, they were already locked down by the Division Commanders.

“Stop struggling in vain and give up! You have no more chances to escape.” One of the Division Commanders who was not far from the battlefield stared coldly at the chairman.

“Hmm, in your dream!!” The chief roared loudly and slashed at one of the enemies rushing towards him. He spat viciously and pointed at the Division Commanders who stood arrogantly in front of him, “You guys who are so shameless using bandits as chess pieces are not even worthy of my respect.”

“Don't be stubborn, please appreciate your life and your subordinates.” The other Division commanders persuaded the chairman calmly. They try to negotiate. After all, they realized that the enemy seemed to have decided to fight to the death. Even if there were four of them, if the chairman decided to burn his life force, one of them would probably be dragged to hell with him.

The Commanders of this Division still cherish their lives.

“For those bastards who even reneged on the rules in the war and invaded the neighboring kingdoms at will? You guys seem to have lost your self-esteem.” The chairman did not flinch and looked at them coldly.

The Division Commanders exchanged a serious glance, this fellow seemed to be more stubborn than they expected.
