Black fog slipped through the cracks of wooden doors and windows. He crept across the room where Anatari had set himself up.
"He's back."
"That's not him."
"That's really him."
"He's not weak."
"That thing is on him."
"Master should know."
Anatari's forehead is wrinkled deep. His eyeballs moved wildly behind closed eyelids. Stifled breath and uncontrollable beating of the heart sent him from the dream world to see his body devoured by burning tongues of fire.
Abinawa who had fallen asleep in the bale-bale across the room rushed toward Anatari who was screaming and struggling. "What's going on? Anatari!" Abinawa shook Anatari's unconscious shoulder. "Anatari!"
Anatari was overwhelmed with confusion.
"What's going on? Nightmare?"
Anatari turned to Abinawa. He considered telling her what had just happened to him. "Yes. Nightmare." Nightmare."
"About what?"
"About .... About your fight and the creatures in the forest. His face is so scary." Anatari doubts what Abinawa is the right person to share secrets with.
Abinawa took her hand off Anatari's shoulder. "It's done. No need to worry about it."
"Yes. Sure oes. It's done. Is that thing really dead?"
"He will not rise again. If that's what you mean. But, yes, there are still many similar creatures that roam freely," explained Abinawa.
"Yes. Very much," muttered Anatari, agreeing.
Abinawa looked at the stunned back Anatari. From every visible line of expression, Abinawa knew that Anatari was not telling the truth. He was sure that the woman in front of him was hiding something. Whatisit? Abinawans didn't want to know. For now.
"Abinawa" said Anatari.
"Sleep. Soon morning. At that time you could ask me anything" Abinawa said.
The rooster had crowed some time ago. Many people were talking in the lobby of the inn. Anatari who sleeps unsettled then woke up to the sound of chatter and laughter of the inn guests who were enjoying the breakfast menu.
After cleaning his body and changing clothes, Anatari went down to look for Abinawa. A small waiter ran up to her and said that Abinawa was in a special room in the backyard of the inn.
Sagara, Tambir, and Wiba are enjoying their simple breakfast under a bamboo bale-bale-bale angsana tree lined with pandan mats. Sagara inching to open the pavilion door for me, but I forbade him and asked him to continue his breakfast.
The fragrance of cooking greeted the sense of smell shortly after opening the pavilion door. Abinawa sits on teak bale-bale near a window that offers a clear view of the river. He sat up straight and closed his eyes. A gentle breeze swerved into the room carrying a few small, bright yellow angsana flowers. One of them landed in the hair of Abinawa. Anatari reached out to take the flower, but Abinawa's fingers quickly clutched her wrists.
"You."
"It's me, of course." Anatari shook Abina's hand, taking the flower to show Abinawa. "You think I'm going to harm you for the sake of getting this beautiful flower."
Anatari slipped the flower into his own hair bun. "There are delicious foods served even you wasted by meditating." He took a seat across from Abinawa.
"Eating food while still hot can cause damage to the stomach, burning tongue, also pain in the esophagus. Don't you know?" kilah Abinawans.
Anatari smiled."If the food is good, I won't regret it. Wait what else. Eat it."
Anatari ate voraciously all the traditional dishes that were considered luxurious in his time. What he likes most is duck oseng with soy sauce and pecel vegetable seasoning. He also only divided a slice of duck meat placed on an Abinawa pottery plate filled with only hot rice.
Anatari who focused on tasting all the food menu presented seemed not to realize that Abinawa actually did not touch the food at all.
Abinawa took her eyes off Anatari. "I have to take care of something with Wiba and Tambir. Sagara will accompany you here."
Anatari put down his tableware. "Did something happen without my knowledge?"
Abinawa poured the smoky tea into her cup and Anatari's. "Nothing happened. Just make sure nothing untoward happens again."
"All right." Anatari observed Abinawa sipping her tea. "May I ask you something?"
"Ask."
Anatari pondered for a moment before asking, "What is your reason for saying that I am not Anatari Linga?"
Abinawa straightened her shoulders, throwing a distant view towards the river. "Anatari Lingga as I know, she is a smart woman who likes to do as she pleases. His self-interest is always above everything else. While you were ...," Abinawa looked back at Anatari intensely, "i don't know who you are yet. Since you can no longer remember some events in your own life, do you know that you're like a bird that forgot how to fly."
Anatari leaned his body onto the table. "Maybe I'm the kind of bird that can't fly."
Abinawa smiled doubtfully. "Can be. But ...," He again sipped the rest of his tea, "Anatari Lingga that I know never eats meat. He likes vegetables, just like me."
Anatari pulled his body. The word Abinawa is like an arrow that shot right at the target. However, his task as Anatari Lingga has not been completed. He couldn't give up because of a little thing like this. He has to keep playing his part. "Maybe it's the effect of some of my lost memories. Find another side of me."
I can't believe this guy is secretly looking for me. If this continues, how much longer can I survive.
Abinawa stared intently at Anatari's thought. Who the hell are you?
Anatari sipped the tea that Abinawa poured without hesitation. "Well what am I supposed to do here?" Anatari switched the topic of conversation.
"Enjoying the Grand Duchy."
A pleasant idea sprang up in Anatari's mind. "I will carry out your word."
"Don't make a noise." Abinawa warned strongly.
"If you doubt myself as Anatari Linga, then you shouldn't have to worry about it."
That's what worries me. The other side of you, the inner Abinawa.
As Abinawa orders "Enjoying the Grand Duchy of Kertarta". Anatari really enjoyed it.
"Wrestling! Gusti!" Sagara walked quickly following Anatari through the middle crowd of the market.
Anatari ignored. He moved from one merchant to another. Buy things that he thinks are unique and impressive. If it was the Anatari Linga, he would never do this kind of childish thing. However, since he was Anatari Kemala, then everything in this place was a treasure hunting field.
"Him! You haven't paid for my merchandise!" shouted a merchant.
"That man will pay!" reply Anatari.
"Get this." Sagara gave five pieces of silver to the merchant, then rushed away followed by several soldiers carrying Anatari groceries. Most of them are just useless things.
"Kisak, this is too much. But, thank you," exclaimed the merchant.
Sagara and the seven warriors were quite overwhelmed following Anatari who had been far ahead of them. Thankfully the blazing weather finally made Anatari want to stay a little longer in front of the brewery.
"Can you give me one?" pinta Anatary.
"of course. Please Nyai," said the seller who is an old grandmother.
Anatari who was not used to drinking the decoction of spice water immediately snorted to feel the drink down his throat. "What drink is this?"
"That's a decoction of lemongrass given a squeeze of lime. Very beneficial for the body. It is also suitable to drink during the day like this. This is a typical drink from the Kertarta region," explained the seller.
"Ah, so it seems. Give me one more."
"Okay, Nyai."
The seller gave a water bottle made of a ten-centimeter-high whole bamboo. The top that opens is closed using a clump of teak leaves to avoid the contents spilling when grasped.
"Enjoy that drink, Anatari?"
Anatari reverses the body with rapid movements. "Who?"
"Wrestling! Please don't run away again."
Anatari smiled weakly, finding Sagara and the soldiers lying on the ground. "Sorry." He petrified for a moment. His heart is again hurting.
It turns out that the "forbidden word" still applies.
"Gusty!"
"Take me away from here," Anatari asked in a stifled voice withstanding the pain.
"Good."
Anatari lay on the grass on the rocky riverbank, gazing at the green hillsides. The soldiers stand on the hill. Sagara is not far from him.
"Anatari Linga. What kind of man you really are. Words full of evil you make cursed. Will I continue like this? Not having a chance to be yourself? But what I'm most afraid of is being trapped in this world. I was so scared" Anatari muttered to himself.
Several soldiers on guard fell down simultaneously without causing any sound. Even Sagara was not aware of anything suspicious. The wind blows strong carrying dust flying, Sagara protects both eyes. "Gusty!" The young man froze for a moment after summoning his master.
"You can still linger in this place, while Yuwaraja is risking her life in the Canggal forest."
Anatari remembered the voice. Enjoy that drink, Anatari? He lifted his body so he could sit without needing a backrest. The same woman who was cynical to him the other day was sitting on a large rock in the middle of the river.
"You keep following me up here just to say that? It's a pain to yourself" Anatari quipped.
"It turns out the news I heard is true. Gusti Putri Anatari Lingga has lost his memory" said the cunning-faced woman.
"Gusti Kangjeng Ratu Anatari Lingga. You missed that one. And there is no benefit for me to remember someone insignificant" Anathari replied.
"You-"
"Do we really know each other? We can't be best friends."
"In that case, allow me, Agniya to help you remember the past" Agniya said.
Agniya raised her hand towards Anatari. A sword appeared instantly, targeting Anatari as his target. Anatari pulled his shawl, flipping the sword towards its owner using a cotton scarf that had been drained of his inner energy.
"Wrestling! Free servant. Let the servant face him" cried Sagara.
"You just rest. After all he has 'good intentions' to help me remember the past. Of course it can't be ignored," Anatari refused.
"Wrestling! Be careful!"
Anatari turned to the empty rocks where the woman was sitting. He looked up who turned out that the woman was attacking him from above. Anatari retreated just in time so that the sharp edge of the sword only hit the rocks where he was standing just now. The attacks came back. Anatari did not counterattack much, dodging more often and sometimes fleeing.
The science of canuragannya not how great, but my current state is not possible to fight it for a long time. If I continue to force it, my meridians will be damaged. What do I do best? Will Abinawa come to help? Waitaminute! I don't understand what I just said. What meridian?!
Anatari and Agniya both dealt blows. The two palms that had been energized in met in a loud bang that made Anatari freefall into the river.
"Gusty!"
Anatari's body crashed so hard against the surface of the water. It quickly sank towards the bottom of a sandy river full of rocks.
"Fight on. Give me the power of your anger. And I'll get your revenge."
"Who? Who's talking to me?"
A pair of extremely dark eyes stared at Anatari from the depths of the gray fog. The black bead is just a thin vertical line that adorns the glowing orange eyeball. The clear, unbeautiful grin bared a pair of sharp fangs that were much taller than Anatari's body.
"Get out your anger, Anatari Linga. I'm already ready. Free me."
"Who are you?"
"Fulfill your destiny to give birth to me."
Anatari gasped and frantically found himself drowning into the bottom of the river. A hand pulled his arm, bringing him to the surface. Anatari knelt down, spewing out all the water he had gulped.
"I told you not to kill him" said the savior Anatari.
Anatari turned to his helper. His eyes were in disbelief. He is not the helper. He's the same man who carried out the attack on the Abinawa residence. Anatari still remembered the wound due to the scratches of sharp objects that adorned the inner palm of the man in a caping hat surrounded by black cloth. Without warning directly bitten by the hand of the man who stretched freely.
Sagara felt a totokan on his back, making him return free to move his limbs.
"Hurry up!"
"Who are you?"
Sagara and the veiled woman make a sudden attack, making the mysterious man and Agniya bounced due to a blow of internal energy. Anatari sits weakly on the riverbank rocks. The soldiers immediately surrounded and protected Anatari. After colliding several moves with Sagara and the veiled woman, the two tenants decided to flee.
The veiled woman ran to Anatari. "You're fine!"
Anatari's gaze was unfocused, he was shaken by something. His body shivered with cold.
Sagara knelt down in front of Anatari. "Gusti, what's going on?"
Anatari said stammeringly, "I must give birth."
"Yuwaraja's son?" Sagara Response.
Anatari.
