The car driven by Rayen and Maureen is already on the beach of Anyer District. Serang Regency, Banten Province. The beach is very felt. The distinctive smell of sea water and the roar of the waves have begun to be heard decorating the eardrum.
Seemed waving waving waving. Along the beach is filled with coconut trees that begin to bear fruit quite dense. The beach breeze that blows breezy, adding to the atmosphere more peaceful.
There are not many visitors on the beach, the atmosphere is still relatively quiet because it is some health protocols implemented by the tour manager that limits the distance between visitors.
Maureen and Rayen deliberately took a seat a bit away from the others. They want to let go of their tiredness and busyness while in the office and company.
“Yes, remember the beginning of our meeting?” Maureen asked opened the conversation.
“Which one is Bun? O, who when Mother cried in the park first?” said Rayen.
“Iya daddy. Every Mother is in the park or on the beach there is a garden, Mother always remembers it. What a hard to forget experience”.
Indeed, whenever Maureen was in the park, she always remembered the memories of the first time she met and became familiar with Rayen. At that time he was being groomed by his best friend Chika who turned out it was part of the scenario of his late father, Mr. Tito. They want to change Maureen's appearance until Maureen meets Rayen when she collapses and is helped by him.
It was a very difficult experience to forget.
Rayen knew, every time he remembered the incident, Maureen's heart became sad. Eventually he tried to divert the conversation by diverting the chatter around the beach they were currently visiting.
“Bun, you know, this beach has a lot of history of lo” said Rayen
“O, yes? The time is yeah?. Bunda kira just like other beach beaches in Indonesia.” Maureen.
At that time, it happened to pass by someone who was quite old, who was a native in the village there. It was Ki Renggo. He is well known to understand the history of Anyer Beach.
Rayen found out about Ki Renggo from a trader who was asked by Rayen about who knew the history of this beach. Because Rayen is also curious about the beach is quite beautiful on the north coast of Banten it.
“Sorry Ki, can we chat for a minute?” rayen said stopping Ki Renggo's footsteps as the old man was walking near their seat.
“O, yes son. What's up?” Ask Ki Renggo.
“Sorry Ki. I'm Rayen, and this is my wife Maureen. If I may want to ask about this beach, hopefully Aki is willing to provide an explanation.” Rayen.
“O, my name is Renggo. People used to call Ki Renggo. Because I am old enough. What Rayen wants to know about this beach. If I find out, I will explain” said Ki Renggo while introducing myself.
“I want to know ki, why is this beach called Anyer? His name is strange. Mean what yes? Still feels foreign in our ears Ki?” Ask Rayen.
Ki Renggo, who was a native of Anyer then began to tell stories.
This beach was once called Pantai Sudi. It was founded by the Kingdom of Banten in 1667. But when in 1883, Mount Krakatau erupted violently and finally the beach was badly damaged. Until finally then it was restored and with a new appearance and building, and famous as the Anyar Beach, which eventually over time, because the Betawi people have a language that leads to the syllable ‘e’ behind, finally famous by the name ‘anyer’ until now.
This beach is so beautiful. The white sand and blue sea become one of the attractions for visitors.
This is where the beginning of the construction of a road along the 1000 km during the reign of the Dutch East Indies by Herman Willem Daendles, better known as ‘kerja rodi’. And a towering lighthouse decorated the beach. It adds to the atmosphere.
While telling the story, Ki Renggo did not forget to taste the cake bought by Maureen and a cup of warm coffee. The meeting with Ki Renggo the village elder really adds to the insight of Rayen and Maureen.
“anyone you want to ask again son Rayen, son Maureen? “ Ask Ki Renggo
“I think it's enough Ki. Thank you for giving us an explanation”
Then Rayen gave an envelope containing money to Ki Renggo. At first the old man was unwilling to accept the gift from Rayen. He is quite happy there are young people who want to explore the history of places that have historical value. But finally after a little pushy, finally Ki Renggo was willing to accept the gift from Rayen.
After that, the old man immediately left the place.
Rayen and Maureen then continue the chat with another topic, they are like a pair of young women who are dating.
The atmosphere of the beach is very beautiful, bringing beauty also in the hearts of both of them.
At the moment he was engrossed in chatting, suddenly Rayen's eyes, fixed on the figure behind the wall behind a stall. A middle-aged man, who had apparently been watching them for a long time. Although after learning that Rayen turned to him, the man immediately hid, but Rayen saw clearly if the man was the mysterious man he met during the trip.
The man was still fully equipped to wear a wide hat, so Rayen could not recognize his face. I don't know or I don't know that person yet.
Rayen's feeling suddenly became unpleasant. Finally he immediately invited Maureen to return to the place where Mr. Rehan, Ms. Kimnana, Bi Minah and little Rayen were resting while enjoying the atmosphere of the beach.
That person was indeed quite suspicious and it seemed like he had been tailing Rayen since from the trip earlier.
