The atmosphere of Abhimanyu residence is so thick nuances of Javanese customs.
Today Mommy Elisa special held the Mitoni Event for the pregnancy of her beloved daughter-in-law Keysha.
All the families of Satria Nugraha and Bu Lastri gathered to Host the Event.
Relatives, Friends, Friends and Business Partners Mr. Satria and Tuan Muda Abhimanyu also attended the Mitoni event.
Keysha is so beautiful in the dress of kebaya and traditional Javanese bun while Abhimanyu with his beskapnya add to the good looks of the prospective father.
Not to forget Daddy and Mommy use matching clothes.
Bu Lastri, Jojo and Kania they are as happy as their blood as wong jowo.
Mitoni is in Javanese tradition, a series of life cycle ceremonies. Mitoni itself comes from the words 'am' and 'pitu'. 'Am' denotes a verb, while 'pitu' means seven or the count of seven.
Mitoni is a ceremony performed on the count of 7 months of pregnancy.
Surely, mitoni had good days to execute. Even from various sources states, that mitoni can not be done at any time.
Usually, the time chosen for the mitoni ceremony is Tuesday (Monday day to night), or on Saturday (Friday day to night). In addition, mitoni is also done during the day or night.
Meanwhile, mitoni is usually done simply in the yard of the house. But in ancient times, mitoni was performed in pasren. Pasren is a place where farmers worship Dewi Sri, the goddess of rice.
Stages - Mitoni Stages :
Mitoni ceremonies are usually led by the elder, or the oldest person in the family. The various stages of mitony are :
Sungkeman
Sungkeman is the first stage of a series of mitoni ceremonies. Sungkeman is done by the prospective mother to the prospective father. After that, the future mother and father did sungkeman to both parents.
Sungkeman is done to ask for the blessing prayer for a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby.
Keysha was so important when asking for blessing and prayer for the smooth delivery later to the in-laws and Bule Lastri so that she and her baby were given health and safety.
Abhimanyu faithfully accompanied Keysha in every procession.
Flush
Siraman is the stage where the prospective mother is bathed. The water is a symbol of self-cleaning, both physical and soul. Water itself comes from 7 sources.
Alternately Mommy meenyirami Keysha from head, face, shoulders, chest, rubbing stomach, hands and feet.
The same thing was done by Bule Lastri to Keysha.
What a beautiful Indonesian culture. With all its characteristics and variety.
Broke eggs
After doing the flush, the prospective father performs the next stage, which is the breaking of eggs. The egg used is a chicken egg that is attached first to the forehead and stomach of the future mother, then broken into the floor.
This procession intends that the delivery will be smooth.
The laughter was felt when Abhimanyu did the egg breaking procession.
The chicken egg first held by Abhimanyu attached to Keysha fused slowly down until the stomach is then just broken.
A slightly stiff Abhimanyu made the invitees present to be funny and interesting.
Breaking janur/lawe
In this procession, janur or lawe is tied to the stomach of the future mother and the prospective father will break the janur or lawe. Just like the egg rupture, break the janur or lawe aims to make labor run smoothly.
During this procession Keysha was assisted by Daddy, because Keysha's father Firman chose not to attend.
Keysha was so moved that he felt no tears.
Although it is the Word that should do it.
Brojulants
Different from the previous two processions, brojolan is a procession involving young ivory coconuts carved in images of Kamajaya and Dewi Ratih. The brojolan procession is intended so that the baby can be born without difficulty.
Coconut break
This procession is an extension of the previous procession. The father-to-be took one of the coconuts with his eyes closed. Coconuts are taken then placed in the flush area, and broken. This is done to estimate the gender of the baby.
Abhimanyu blindfolded when choosing coconut fruit, which later symbolized as the sex of a boy or girl.
There is just a funny behavior that makes the guests laugh when watching this procession.
What kind of baby A is hayo? The surprise!
Change clothes
After the flush is done, the mother-to-be will dry the body and replace the clothes previously used. This dressing ceremony will use 7 types of fabric that symbolizes 7 months and hope for the baby.
Seven fabrics symbolize:
Sidomukti (Happiness)
Sidoluhur (Breediness)
Semen Rama (For the love of both parents lasts forever)
Udan Iris (For his presence is fun for the people around him)
Chicken Claw (Reliance)
Lasem patterned striated fabric (Simplicity)
At the time of the use of the 6th cloth, the invited guests will be responded “less suitable..” and the 7th with ‘match.”
Keysha was asked to change fabrics 7 times, and the 7th design was considered suitable.
Sell cendol and/or rujak
Next is a procession where prospective fathers and prospective mothers demonstrate selling cendol and rujak. Where prospective fathers protect prospective mothers when selling. Uniquely, the money used is coins from clay or crew.
This section is certainly awaited by all invitations.
Keysha today became a dawet and rujak seller.
Abhimanyu accompanied the wife to sell dawet and rujak.
All the invitations were eager to enjoy the dawet and rujak that Keysha sold at that time.
Cut tumpeng
A series of mitoni processes ends with the tumpeng cut. Tumpeng contains rice with six small tumpengs around it.
All the invitees are thrilled to enjoy today's series of mitoni events at the Abhimanyu residence.
Keysha and Abimanya expressed their gratitude to the family of friends, friends, business associates who have been present praying.
May Keysha be given smoothness in the process of his future birth.
