Red Pocong

"All new students count to ten have gathered in front of the dormitory" said the ospek committee (student orientation a week).

All new santri do not care not to wear shoes, upturned clothes, unfinished pants in the important wear march first rather than to be legalized by the committee brothers. Actually the sisters of this committee are very good, but when again serious or again leading, there is no joke for new students.

"This afternoon we clean the dam (the santri name of this boarding school) uproot the lotus and pick up the trash of leaves or plastic waste that is thrown by the same people into the dam." the committee explained the agenda of the afternoon activity.

All new santri go to the dam to clean the dam from dirt including plastic. They immediately jumped into the padang with full clothes and shoes. It was forbidden by the committee to open it.

After cleaning they return to the dormitory to prepare for the magrib prayer in congregation. Because it's still a new santri, though, they do not pray in the mosque but pray in the pendopo as well as learn the right prayer and dhikr so that when in the mosque do not interfere with the solemnity of the citizens and the ustad who pray in the mosque.

After the magrib prayer, all new students are taught the correct way of ablution while the committee holds a meeting to carry out night activities, namely jurit (guts test).

"Tonight we gathered to discuss the activities of this jury, how good it is to run smoothly" said Ustad who accompanied the meeting.

"We have divided up the post and places to test new santri nyari" said the committee chairman.

"It's good if it's divided his job good luck tonight. And remember who uses a kuntilanak costume or pocong do not forget to strengthen his wirid, afraid if anyone comes with you." message ustad to the committee who want to wear a ghost costume.

"That's yes those who want to scare santri, you should fortify yourself because you do it" said the chairman of the committee added to the message from ustad.

In a matter of minutes all new students are asleep in their sleep due to fatigue factors to make their bodies tired and easy to sleep.

At twelve o'clock the new santri built one by one, they paved the way to the forest that is behind the pesantren cottage area, pesantren, in the forest there are already many organizers who are ready to test the guts of this new santri. The distance between santri is about fifteen minutes and the road is new. They walk in the middle of the forest only with one candle that they must keep so that the fire is not extinguished.

There were some santri who shouted, crying out of fear, there were also those who dared to make them hit the committee disguised as ghosts and it made them in the law because it had hit the committee. Santri was very creepy and his fur stood up as he passed a red pocong standing under a rubber tree. Santri who passed the red pocong there are those who run, read the verse of the chair, and some are relaxed because they believe it is only the committee to make them not afraid.

Jurit finished at four o'clock in the morning, all the new students regrouped in the dormitory and the committee began to gather at the dormitory with the new students. Santri just looking for the figure of the committee who became a red pocong but there is nothing only the committee who wear white pocong costumes.

After all gathered they took a break while waiting for dawn. Some are cleaning themselves, some sleepers do not want to waste time resting, and some tell stories of their respective jurit experiences.

The next day the santri asked the committee about who was the red pocong. The committee asked this explained that no one was wearing a red pocong costume. The new Santri was frightened and told his friends that what they saw was not a human but a real pocong. The news spread to the ears of the ustad who became the companion of ospek.

"So right did you guys see the red pocong?" ask ustad to all new students.

"Yes ustad." they answered compactly.

"Nobody committee becomes a red pocong, you must be more wired and read the Qur'an so that God will always give protection to all of us." said ustad give advice to new students to diligently read the Qur'an and not leave the wires morning, evening, and night before going to bed.
