Each team consists of 5 players who play on the basketball court. There are also some players sitting on the bench. Each player has their own task based on the position they occupy.

Point Guard (PG)

Point Guard (PG) is also called playmaker. For this one position is usually held by players who have a smaller body than other players or the ideal but deft, agile and good at dribble the ball.

Preferably those who occupy this position have the ability in ball handling. Because PG is the one who is in the first position in carrying out the game strategy, whether it is defending or attacking.

The job of Point Guard is to carry the ball well to then give passing to other team mates. Because of its position as a playmaker and spearhead attack or defense, PG can be called a player who is responsible for managing the rhythm of a team's game.

The Shooting Guard (SG)

Shooting Guard (SG) is second only to Point Guard. Well, people who are in this position are usually dubbed as “Si Shooter”. This is because the main task of SG is to shoot the ball from a distance.

For example, when the ball is in the three point area, then SG must take the task to shoot the ball. Because of this task, a Shooting Guard usually has the ability of precise shot accuracy.

The person should be dexterous and fast to move in order to find a position or empty space to make a shot. Sometimes players with SG positions can double with Point Guard. It all depends on the team's strategy.

The Small Forward (SF)

Small Forward is a position that is usually occupied by the main scorer in the team, players who are in this position must have good offensive skills such as lay-ups, post-ups, dunks, fadeaway jumpers, and other players, up to 3-point shoot.

4.Power Forwards

Power Forward is a player who is in charge of protecting the center area and becomes a player who plays a lot in the restricted area (paint area) to stem the opponent's attack and catch rebounds both during the defensive and offensive phases.

Players who are in this position usually have a strong physical and are able to duel with the opponent forward.

5. Centers

The center is the biggest and tallest player on the team. The main function of the center player in basketball is the last defender in the defensive strategy.

And generally the center becomes the player who most often do blocks and rebounds, as well as in pick and roll games this player serves as a screener for the guards in search of a shooting room for the team.
