Divine Protection: The Pride System

Divine Protection: The Pride System
Episode 45: First Steps to the Temple of Life

The journey still continues, the Rogant group is currently in an unfamiliar area towards >Temple of Life<

His dragon carriage let out a creaking sound along the rocky road.

From morning until noon, the scenery around Rogant is only trees and trees, sometimes they pass through the river as well.

Peering from the window of the carriage, Rogant frowned. He saw the clouds in the sky a little dark, maybe cloudy.

“It looks like later tonight will rain, very troublesome.”

“Hmm~ Meily don't like rain.” Meily's grouse was in Rogant's lap.

This little girl with black hair from earlier was just playing with her teddy bear that she named Teddy.

Rogant smiled wryly, and patted the cute little girl on the head and said.

“Well, I know how you feel. But, hear Meily, rain is a blessing, if it doesn't rain, then the plants will also die. If it is like that, the air will also not be clean and we will die from the scorching sun.”

“Umm~ Meily also don't like it.” Meily said slightly pouting, her voice sounding smooth and seductive unlike her appearance,

“Why should there be rain and sun? The world is really confusing.” Meily grumbled, which made Rogant laugh out loud.

He smiled gently, and snorted softly.

“Yeah, I agree too. The world is indeed confusing.” He said, it was almost like a gust of wind disappearing in the air.

After that, he turned his gaze back to see the outside world whose clouds began to boil and become dark.

Rogant sighed.

“Haahh... I'm not sure we can head to the nearest town to rent an inn. Looks like today we will camp outside again or just continue.” Rogant said in an unhappy voice.

Since it was definitely going to rain later tonight, then, they had to stop and rent an inn. However, for that they had to stop at a nearby city.

While the nearest city around here does not exist at all, or rather there is absolutely no city if you are getting closer to >Temple of Life<

No one dared to build a city or village near the forest >Temple of Life<, so the Rogants had to make camp or stay like this and continue their journey even in the midst of the rain.

However, they also have to think about Kizuna who served as the driver of his dragon train, maybe he will be exhausted, not good to force him.

So also with the dragons, however, they are still living beings, they need a time of rest.

Well then, the choice they had was to make camp in the forest, but since it would rain, it might be difficult.

—{Well, maybe Meily and Kizuna can sleep inside the train car. The problem is where do I sleep? It is impossible to be with the two of them as well, men and women should be separated.} Think Rogant, make a thinking pose.

[Master, if you're in trouble. I could buy some tents to shelter from the rain later tonight. What need?]

Suddenly the voice of a woman appeared inside Rogant's head in a mechanical tone and filled with loyalty.

Perhaps due to seeing his troubled Master, the Pride System extended its hand to help his Master.

Hearing that, Rogant smiled happily and nodded in agreement.

“Oh, you're right. Well, can you please do, Pride-chan.” Rogant said, relax.

[As you wish, Master.]

This way the issue of shelter from the rain is over. Well, to be honest, if Rogant wanted to sleep with Meily and Kizuna in the carriage, they wouldn't have turned him down, instead they would have been happy.

But the problem here is the Pride System. He was like a stepbrother watching his sister's lover so that he would not commit cheating.

Even Rogant can learn from every experience when lectured by the Pride System about whichever will be considered as an act of 'Cheating'.

While Rogant was thinking about it, suddenly the front door was knocked, maybe it was Kizuna.

“What's up, Kizuna?” Ask Rogant.

“Master, looks like we got some great guests.” Kizuna replied with a voice that sounded warm, like the sun in spring.

Right in the middle of the road, there was a demonic beast. He looks like a moth insect, but his size makes Rogant frown.

“What is usually an insect-type demonic beast of that size?” Ask, not believing.

“I don't think so, sir. The largest size I know, only about three meters.” Answer Kizuna from the driver's seat.

Rogant frowning, “Three meters?” He sounded confused, anyways, “Mau in view of wherever the creature has a size of fifteen meters more.”

As Rogant said, the demon beast that was now right in front of them had a size that even exceeded an elephant.

He was a fifteen meter moth with black spines on his skin that made him look even more sinister, but what was more interesting was the wings he had.

It was even larger than his own body size, he had a black complexion with a few spines at the corners of his wings.

And even worse, now such creatures are blocking the way of the Rogant group.

There is no other choice but to fight.

“Kizuna, can you count how many they are, from here I can not see everything clearly.” Rogant said firmly in his decision.

Kizuna from the driver's seat can see ahead clearly, in contrast to Rogant who can only see through the car window.

But, Kizuna sounded doubtful as she answered him, “Umm... I think this is very urgent, Mr.”

“Hah?” Kizuna's words made Rogant worried, “How many are they?”

“I'm also actually less sure. But, I guess they're about fifty, Mr.”

Rogant's eyes widened startled, “Fifty.” He repeated those words reflexively. Well, how else, that's a huge amount.

Imagine, a ferocious monster that was more than an elephant in size with a number that even half of the villagers were in front of you.

In fact, it can make the reed of Rogant stands goosebumps.

“Ha-ha, it's worth it no one wants to make a city or village around here.” Rogant said with a curvy smile, he was seen enjoying it, “It seems that I underestimated the poison of the sin of Gluttony.”

“What need Meily kill all?” Meily asked who from just now was just quietly playing with her teddy bear, she sounded relaxed.

“Then I will also help. Sir, please just stay in—”

“No.”

Before Kizuna could finish her sentence, Rogant interrupted.

Then, in a happy-sounding tone showing no fear at all, Rogant continued.

“Please let me alone eradicate them all.”

His opponent was a moth-type demonic beast that had been contaminated with the poison of Gluttony and turned into a monster with a size of fifteen meters.

They number about fifty. It was clearly, it was an unreasonable amount for a demonic beast. But, unfortunately this is only the beginning of the horrors of >Temple of Life<

There are many more horrors that exceed this if you get closer to the forest >Temple of Life<

By this time, Rogant had declared it.

He would fight alone against an already evolved demonic beast.

His stupidity and arrogance are well worth applauding.

But, don't get me wrong, he has absolutely no intention of losing.

If he loses here, then it will prove that he does not deserve to challenge >Temple of Life<

“Yeah, maybe this will be faster completion.”
