Demon Laws
Chapter 9: Instant Techniques

“Ah.” Dewey nodded in understanding. “Search a room for him, let him open it yourself then.” Dewey smiled looking at the long-legged girl. “I have no other intention, just interested in your leather armor.”

“Fucking child! If you dare to touch me, I will make you..” The girl cursed.

With a flat face, Dewey walked in front of him then stretched out a finger and stabbed his face hard. “I've touched you, what will you do to me?”

The others had been tied up with ropes, the bull warrior was even chained with chains of animals that were somehow found out of nowhere by two knights.

The long-legged girl had been knocked unconscious by the Rollin family guards, then put into Dewey's room. It seems like the little master is interested in this girl. As subordinates, why should they refuse the opportunity to flatter the employer?

Not thinking of the dirty business of***********, Dewey gathered the zeal to examine the witch.

The witch, who had been stripped of her gray robes, stood in front of Dewey in only her underwear. His feet were tied with rope. Originally, he had tried to threaten this little noble. “Are you not afraid to offend the magical society by treating witches like this?”

The answer given was a blow. The slap made the witch shut up.

Dewey rubbed his sore hand. It seemed that his body was still too weak.

“If you answer some of my questions obediently, I will consider releasing you.” Dewey sat down on the chair and looked at the magician who was tied up like a basket. “I didn't see you chant a spell when you produced that fireball. Have you mastered the skills of ‘instan’?”

This is what makes Dewey the most curious.

When using magic, the magician must have cast a spell. That's the knowledge Dewey's been told about the books Dewey's been reading.

Although there are already some top magicians who master mind spells how to recite mantras in the heart without the need to make a sound. This expertise is ‘instan’ which is legalized. But such a great skill requires the support of great spiritual power, as well as a proper understanding of magic skills.

But almost all the witches who could do that were the great witches on the mainland. This instant skill was impossible to master by a magician of the lowest level.

Sure, in addition to relying on own ability to complete ‘instan’ expertise. There are other ways to solve it, too. The most familiar method is magic scrolls.

Magic scrolls were spell scrolls that had been written first, discarded when witches needed to fight. After that it could instantly detonate the magic that had been stored in the scroll before.

But spell scrolls were an extremely valuable magic consumable. In addition, the higher the magic level, the harder it is to make scrolls. Currently the most used magic scrolls are just some low-level magic. The ability of making an intermediate level spell into a magic scroll had become a precious treasure. It is rarely heard if a top-level spell can be made into a scroll.

Therefore Dewey was very interested in this level one mage. Because he did not recite a spell while fighting earlier. Looks like it's ‘instan’ that's upheld.

Even if ‘instan’ the witch is just a fireball with the lowest level.

Basically, in this world, the level of a magician was strictly determined. The most obvious is the weak strength of magic power and mastery of magic skills.

Among them the use of spells was a criterion for judging the quality of a magician.

The need to cast spells while using magic was common knowledge. Often when the same spell is used by different magicians there will be different situations. Some high-level magicians had researched different ways of using spells. Can recite those esoteric spells in a quick way. Even one or two syllables can be shortened, so that in battle can cast spells faster than the enemy, then above the wind.

The research results of magic spells are often the magicians' biggest secret. They will not teach it to others. Otherwise, it will lose its own profit.

As for ‘instan’...it is an object that can make any witch go crazy or willing to sacrifice anything to get it.

Dewey's not stupid. He didn't really think that this ‘instan’ skill could be mastered by a level one mage who was only slightly higher than a mage disciple. He guessed that this magician had mastered a similar way to instant technique, or a substitute method that approached instant technique.

Because if the magician in front of her was indeed a strong person who could technique ‘instan’, she would not end up tied up like a pot. And the result of the fight was supposed to be Dewey's side who lost.

This witch must have a secret. That's what interested Dewey.

Faced with Dewey's question, this witch's countenance was rather ugly. His gaze was a bit evasive. He's still tight-lipped, won't talk.

Dewey pursed his lips. He did not expect the witch to tell his secret obediently.

He began to examine the loot obtained from the witch.

A witch's robe. Dewey caught a glimpse of it and threw it on the stove. The witch's cloak burned like firewood. The silver leaf badge was briefly played by Dewey before eventually ending up on the stove as well. This badge was the mark of the true magician qualification certificate issued by the Magic Society. In addition, according to Dewey the human who came from another world, this badge also has special properties, namely anti-theft and anti-lost.

Once certified by the Magic Society, this badge can only be worn by magicians who possess it and must not leave the body of a witch more than a certain distance. Otherwise it will melt. Moreover, this badge could also emit magic waves imprinted there. It was an anti-counterfeiting mark that made it difficult for ordinary people to make similar badges and then pretend to be witches.

So, the badge was useless to Dewey. Seeing the badges thrown into the stove, the magician who was tied up like a basket looked heartbroken.

“See, actually I have no evil intentions.” Dewey smiled. A smile like a demon adorned his pale young face. “I was just a young man who was very interested in magic. If you want to answer some questions from me, I'll let you go.”

The witch is still silent.

Dewey could only continue to inspect the loot.

A small bag was also found from the witch's cloak. Bags poured, some gems of varying quality fell. For ordinary people, this was a treasure. But for magicians, this is just a tool to store magic power. Dewey took a quick look, then put it in his pocket without hesitation.

Two pieces of parchment recorded several low-level magic spells. Dewey glimpsed and his eyes twinkled.

Although he often read books related to magic knowledge, due to strict regulations in the field of magicians, real magic spells are impossible to record in books. Books only contain theoretical knowledge about magic, there can be no real spells of the lowest level though.

Not even the lowest level fireball spell existed!

In other words, anyone can understand magic through books, but it is impossible to be a witch.

For example, Dewey. He now had a lot of theoretical and general knowledge about the field of magic. But not knowing a single spell.

This all keeps the ancient traditions of the witch field. The witch's legacy can only be passed on to the disciple by the old witch herself. Cannot be distributed.

Slightly similar to ‘gun’ control in that world. Dewey's analysis, in that world, everyone can know the characteristics, models, and principles of weapons through the Internet or books. But it is impossible to make a real weapon with individual strength.

“Oh, what is this?”

After cleaning the loot, there were a few small transparent bottles. The mouth of the bottle is sealed and there is a little different color powder inside.

Dewey did not dare to open the bottles with a blind pig. Because most witches' luggage is dangerous. It is possible that certain bottles are dangerous items that can turn humans into stone.

“It seems that my guess is correct.” Dewey sat up straight, staring at his captive with a smile. “Your true strength is not strong. You are just a low-level wizard. This is no doubt. The instant skill you showed in the fight earlier was an opportunistic substitute method, right? Now I'm giving you two choices. Tell me obediently to resolve my curiosity, then I'll let you go. Or not... you will suffer.”

The witch is still trying to play tricks. “You're a nobleman! Don't you feel like treating a witch like this is degrading your pride?”

Dewey.

Nobles then why?

Actually, Dewey didn't accept himself coming to this world. He felt that he had no purpose in living in this completely alien world. When losing everything from that world; dreams, friends, family, love….

Then come to a completely foreign world and approach ‘break’. A few years earlier, Dewey felt his life was falling apart. He did not find the purpose of life in the least.

The only thing that could interest him now was the ‘sihir’ field in this foreign world.

For anything else. Dewey doesn't care!

And to quell his curiosity for magic, Dewey incited his subordinates to attack some of these strangers in the brewery. Is this action moral? Dewey doesn't care!

He, as Dewey Rollin as well as someone from his previous life, had never been a good person.
