Episode 3: Days Without You

I put some of my stuff in my suitcase. Today I'm going to America and do my usual routine there as a doctor. Five days of leave was able to treat my longing for my family. And also Haewon. Honestly, I still miss that girl and refuse to return to America. Our meeting ended with a farewell.

"Jae, I see your house has a swimming pool and a basketball court in the backyard." Taeyong seemed to have just come from the backyard. My brother and I enjoy exercising. Especially basketball and swimming. I can relax my body again after the stress of my heavy days.

"By the way, the man who met you last night, is he Haewon's brother?"

I don't know why Taeyong asked something like this. I just nodded and asked what was wrong with her. And Taeyong said that he'd seen the man. But I don't know where. It may be a coincidence or a similar person.

"Yes, don't think about it. Let's pack your things, we need to get to the airport."

Taeyong looks to be twitching his shoulders. The man took an early leave of absence from me to go to his hometown. After that, he chose to stay at my house. After all, my house was always quiet because both my parents were busy. They are both doctors. Therefore, I as the first child is very much expected to continue their work as a doctor. It's okay I don't mind. It's just that, actually, I want to be a General Surgery rather than a Cardiologist.

"Junwoo never played with his friend?" Taeyong asked while looking through my book collection.

"Hm, he's busy training at home and at his agency." My speech.

Unlike me, Junwoo chose to be an Idol, he said being a doctor was boring. Next year, Junwoo will make his debut at the age of 21. Maybe 22 because Junwoo has entered that age next year. Junwoo had only been a trainee for two years. It was not accidentally and his age at that time was 19 years old. While he was away with his friend to the city park, someone from a large agency offered Junwoo to become a trainee at the agency.

"Good, Jung's family will have the artist's blood. No more doctor's blood." Most of my family is doctors. Whether it's a general practitioner, dentist, obstetrician and others.

"And what about Haewon? What will he be? He's still in college, right?" Ask Taeyong.

Remembering Haewon. That girl always managed to make my chest depressed when I remember her or when I miss her. Haewon once said that he really wanted to have a famous restaurant and bakery. He studied business from his early teens with his older brother, Chanyeol. Who has successfully pioneered a career in the culinary world. Haewon is also good at cooking. But strangely he chose to study in fashion instead of culinary or business.

Haewon said that if he was always in his comfort zone, he would never grow.

"He's in the Design department. Looks like it's going to be a leading designer. I've seen him design a shirt a few times in school and the results are good. There were some boutiques that wanted to recruit him, but Haewon refused. He prefers to help his brother in the restaurant. His brother just relaxes at home."

"Why is it so relaxing?"

"He's Boss with 10 famous restaurants. And also fancy don't forget that." My reply.

Taeyong seemed to be in shock. He said he didn't think Haewon was from a family. But his simple self does not characterize that Haewon people are and also talented.

I stared at the piece of photo that had fallen from my notebook as I was tidying things up. I smiled, seeing how Haewon looked so happy in the photo.

"Ja." Call Taeyong. I'm turning.

"If you're harder to let go than you're in a long-distance relationship, why aren't you guys together anymore?"

Haewon began to feel that his life was empty. He also began to grieve as soon as he saw the items or events that had to do with Jaehyun. The man, still filled his mind. Like this afternoon.

Haewon had just walked out of his class and was immediately greeted by a man standing leaning against a wall. The man was Mark, and Mark reminded him of Jaehyun. When they were in school. Haewon had just finished from tutoring. The girl was seen lowering her head as soon as she saw Jaehyun's presence there. The man was leaning against the wall while playing his phone.

Jaehyun smiled as soon as he realized Haewon was standing before him with a clumsy look. Haewon didn't know what to do because they weren't officially dating. Just admiring and close.

"Hey, where are you going?"

Mark immediately caught up with Haewon who was walking in a hurry. And look, Haewon now covered his face while occasionally wiping his eyelids that turned wet. Mark was certainly worried about Haewon. The man immediately pulled him and Haewon stopped right in front of him. With a wet face and puffy eyes.

"Are you okay?" Ask Mark. Haewon was still downcast and slowly sobbing. Mark pulled the girl away from the crowd. He doesn't want to be a spectacle and people will misunderstand him.

Then, Mark took Haewon to the park behind their college building. Haewon was there hugging Mark and crying. Mark was confused, as he remembered Haewon was fine before he entered the classroom. Maybe something is bothering him there?

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Mark asked after Haewon's embrace loosened and the girl stopped crying.

Haewon rubbed his wet cheeks and inhaled a lot of breath. He had crossed the line in crying over Jaehyun. It had been three more days since Jaehyun decided to end their relationship.

"Tell me." But Haewon shook his head and refused to tell Mark what he felt.

Mark, that guy could have been so annoying and could have made Haewon stunned. As of now, Mark went to buy Haewon some drinking water to the cafeteria. And now, Haewon is alone in the park. People have come home considering it's been a very late afternoon.

"Sir Haewon?"

Haewon who still left her tears immediately she put away and tried to smile.

"Oh sorry. I reflex when I hug her."

"No-no I don't mind I know you guys are so close and it's not a big deal for me." Seohae Sanggah.

"Sorry to wait a long time." Mark came back with two bottles of banana milk in his hand. He saw the girl next to Haewon. "Eoh, Seohae?"

Seohae smiled at Mark, not forgetting to give him a greeting because he was a hobae of Mark. He wouldn't have thought that Mark would remember it so easily. Not like Haewon just now.

"It." Haewon took the banana milk Mark gave him.

"Geez, I only bought two. I didn't know you were here. Here, just for you." Mark said as he stuck the banana milk out on Seohae.

Seohae looks bad. But Mark nodded with a smile on him, as if to tell him that he did not mind. Therefore, Seohae took the banana milk with pleasure of course. What about his heart? Oh my God, it feels like it's about to explode.

"Jaehyun used to love banana milk." Haewon examined the banana milk. Almost every day Haewon gave banana milk to Jaehyun.

"I don't know, sorry. Do I need to buy you a new one?" Mark asked, the man felt bad for Haewon.

"Itya, gwenchana. Thank you for helping me." Mark smiled at it. "And so are you Seohae."

The girl named Seohae immediately looked at Haewon and Mark alternately while pointing at her. "I? I did what?"

Haewon said his feelings improved once Mark and Seohae were by his side. So Haewon invites Mark and Seohae to go to dinner at one of Chanyeol's restaurants.

Which also used to be the place where Haewon and Jaehyun used to spend time together.

"Sorry? Have I ever wanted to go back to Korea? But, why?"

Jaehyun had just arrived in America and he immediately went to the hospital for duty. And as soon as he arrived, Jaehyun was called by the hospital chief to face. Jaehyun thought he had a mistake while on duty to the point that he had to be transferred to Korea.

"Hallym University Medical Center needs you Dr. Jung. And you don't have to stay away from your family and your country." Said Dr.Hans. Jaehyun was confused now.

"And why you didn't tell me about this when I was in Korea?" Jaehyun.

It was not difficult to tell him about this while Jaehyun was still in Korea. He had come all the way back to America and once he arrived in America, he had to go back to Korea and work there. After all, Jaehyun and Haewon were done. What should Jaehyun tell Haewon if the girl sees him wandering around Korea while Jaehyun asks to end their relationship due to long distance relationship.

"We just listed who will be sent to Korea, and it was done yesterday. For doctors who want to live there, that's no problem. and for doctors who want to return here after their work is done, we will open the door as wide as possible." It's not a bad thing. Jaehyun could have re-established a relationship with Haewon. And fix what's wrong with each of them.

"Sure. I do not mind."

Dr. Hans seems satisfied with Jaehyun's willingness to be employed in Korea. "Taeyong and Jeslyn will be with you."

Jaehyun is relieved that Taeyong will be sent to Korea, also with Jeslyn. Geez, Jaehyun would not have imagined what if Taeyong would complain every night even every second to him about Jeslyn.

Jaehyun bent his body slightly before he exited Dr. Hans. It's a good chance to get back to Haewon.

Because honestly, Jaehyun felt empty without Haewon.

Jaehyun looked at Taeyong who was walking in front of him while examining the data of a patient.

"Wait." Jaehyun held Taeyong's arm. The man immediately asked why and Jaehyun took him to the garden behind the hospital.

"So, are we moving to Korea? Seriously?" He asked after Jaehyun said what Dr. Hans. Taeyong certainly felt happy especially he was transferred along with his girlfriend, Jeslyn. "Geez, I'm glad I finally don't have to talk in English."

Taeyong always had trouble using English to communicate with everyone, except Jaehyun. Even with Jeslyn he often sought English translations of vocabulary that he did not know and rarely used.

"But, Jae."

Jaehyun looked up after checking the health records of one of his patients on his cell phone.

"If we're transferred to Korea, does that mean you can go back with Haewon?"
