Days After You's

Days After You's
Chapter 39 - Possessiveness

The laughter and whispers of some women passing by and out of the toilet filled my ears as I waited for Stella to finish her affairs inside from the front of the ladies' room. I don't know how I feel, but I think I'm seeing some of the same women going back and forth in the toilet in the near future. Is there anything strange about the cuisine of this place that they constantly need to go to the toilet? Do they have stomach pains like Stella?

More surprisingly, some of the women kindly threw smiles at me the first time they saw me leaning in front of the toilet entrance, but after several times I also reply with a thin smile as courtesy, they even began to behave as if this toilet corridor is an impromptu runway fashion show. What is it with these women actually?

"Em...excuse me," a petite woman in a purple dress who also passed me in the company of her friend, she reached out her hand, "Can you not be a friend? I'm Elena."

I blinked, glancing at the hand with the glitter-wrapped nail hesitated before shaking it back, "Luiz."

The woman pulled both ends of her lips wide, she combed her hair behind her ears with her fingers while softly speaking, "I noticed brother alone continues here, so just curious to make an acquaintance, can I have the number, brother?"

Hmm.. I can still serve when invited to acquaintances because it feels impolite if I reject it, but if the matter of numbers, I do not just give it to just anyone.

"I'm sorry, if that's not possible," I said. I said it in a non-offending tone.

The smile of the woman and her friend who did not introduce themselves but just tailed behind it suddenly dimmed instantly, but I did not have time to pay attention to them anymore because my focus immediately turned to Stella who had also walked out of the toilet at the same time. He looked well-fed but his face was still a bit pale and looked uninspired.

"Are you better?"

"Yes..."

"Em...sister brother?" The woman who was apparently still standing next to me, she looked at me and Stella in turn.

I, who had been holding Stella's arm, looked up with some slight offence at the assumption, I said, "My wife."

Do I look that old with Stella?

Instead, the look on the face of the woman and her friend immediately changed upon hearing my answer. They hurriedly apologized and walked away into the toilet again while nudging each other.

"Who...?" Ask Stella slowly.

I nodded, "I don't know. Just a prankster. How stomach? If it's still uncomfortable, we'll just go home. There's no need to feel bad about others, they'll understand."

Stella, whose voice still felt bad, nodded slowly, "...I'm sorry Luiz, I'm interrupting your reunion time with an old friend."

"You're not bothering anyone, Stella. Come on."

Stella and I got out earlier than the others. Having been half drunk, Jeffrey and Ethan paid little attention and were just a slipper in their seats, but August and Nino and their partner had time to embrace and greet us apart.

"Be careful on Luiz road, I might call you on business later" August said.

"Hm, just call if you need anything. You're also Nino."

"OK, see you, Luiz. Have frequent news."

On the way out of the restaurant, while passing through the regular guest table area which was also crowded, my eyes coincidentally found the figure of the man who had previously collided with Stella at one of the tables for the four of them. Yes, the man who smelled of trouble, he was sitting with a woman and two small children. I almost breathed a sigh of relief thinking it must be her family and my premonition might be wrong, but once realized Stella's gaze also led to the same person but with a slightly sad look, Stella said, the feeling of displeasure came back from my heart.

Questions arose right then and there, but I only brought them up when we left the restaurant and were waiting for the red light.

"You know that guy?" My toot. My tone of voice I made as relaxed as possible so as not to be impressed so curious.

"Aah?"

"The man who accidentally collided with you on the way to the toilet earlier. You know him?"

Stella immediately confirmed her sitting, she looked at the window while answering, "She's just an old friend."

"Old friend? It looks like more than that." I murmured. I stepped on the gas and turned my steering wheel still with a calm mimic.

"Luiz, I'm not feeling well, just have a chat later, yeah," Stella said. I know he's trying to avoid this conversation, but simultaneously he's not entirely lying about not feeling well either. Inevitably, I ended my question about the mysterious man.

Actually, with a single snap of a finger at my assistant, I can find information about the man to the details of his ancestors, he said, but I wouldn't be satisfied knowing that Stella was trying to hide something about that guy from me. I want to hear everything from Stella's own mouth not from the results of spying.

Once home, I carried Stella up to her room cautiously. It was strange to see Stella so shrewd in her spirit and cheerfulness, so I tried not to add to the burden of her mind.

Key word: trying.

Because what I did was the opposite. As soon as Stella finished washing her feet and hands and changed clothes to get ready for bed, I went back into her room with wide strides. It was just a sleeping lamp on the nightstand that was lit, so I could only see some of Stella's face silhouette in the dim light.

The sound of breath blocked from the startled Stella did not escape my hearing. Standing next to the bed full of dolls, I bent down to match the level of my mouth with her ears.

"Stella, in our agreement. When it is written we should not interfere in each other's affairs, it does not mean cheating or thinking about other men is allowed. As long as you're married to me, you're mine, okay?"

"...Luiz?"

I straightened my body, smiling as if nothing had happened, "Sleep. You need to rest. Call me if you need anything."

"OK...but Luiz—" Stella spoke half in doubt, but I ruffled her hair and turned off the sleeping lights.

"Good night, Stella," cut me off.

"...Good night, Luiz."

One hundred percent sure, Stella must still be confused even after I turned around to leave her room. I was just shocked by my attitude earlier, as if for a moment, I was suddenly possessed by a possessive spirit that was ready to pounce on anyone or anything that dared to take mine. It was the first time in my life that I realized there was such a side to me as well.

The strong and dominant side. I think Stella was the trigger that made that side come to the surface.
