Days After You's

Days After You's
Chapter 24 - Unusual Glamour

Stella's father continued to chat with me for a few minutes. On the other hand, we also greet some guests who come and sit at the same table or close to us.

"I trust you, Luiz," Stella's father smiled as he lowered the volume, "As you know, Stella praises you a lot every time she talks on the phone. He said that you were an amazing man and always reliable. I think he's been sounding happier lately thanks to you."

My pupils are growing. I didn't expect Stella to tell me much about her father, let alone praise me. And sound happier because of me he said? No way, it must be Stella who is happy, has nothing to do with me. I've never done anything special to make her happier than ever.

"Ah.it's a little excessive," I replied.

Stella's father chuckled and shook his hands, "Already, no need to hesitate. Look, they're back."

It was Stella and her mother. The mother and daughter walked slowly to our table. Stella held the hand of her mother who now took care of and guided the woman in her steps.

"Oh Luiz.." Stella's mother whose voice was raucous came forward to hug me so I spontaneously lowered my head and returned her embrace. During that time, I also accidentally made eye contact with Stella. He smiled warmly but there was also a glow of melow in his gaze.

"How are you?" My speech.

"I'm good. Oh, I'm so glad you took the time to accompany Stella here. I know you're very busy" Stella's mother replied.

I smiled a little, "Not really, Mom. I'll always be able to accompany Stella."

"Mother sit down" Stella pulled the chair next to her father for her mother. After mom sat down, she also pulled a chair for herself next to me.

I was very surprised by the sighting of Stella's mother. The last time I met him was only a month ago, but because of the pain that often comes attacking him between the breaks of time, he became so thin and looked different.

"You guys really got in the car here? Aren't you tired?" Stella's mother asked again.

I shook my head, "Not really, ma. The scenery that passed also paid even his tiredness."

"There are many stopovers on the street, ma," said Stella, "There are many cafes and fastfood places."

"You're not drunk on land, honey?"

"No," Stella smiled, "Secure to the goal."

"Oh great. I've always worried you're the drunk type, so we never take you out of town by car."

The four of us chatted and subconsciously the venue was getting crowded with the invitations. A host also appeared to be preparing from the way he tested the microphone next to the stage.

"I'm sorry if I'm long, Luiz. I'd love to talk to Kat" whispered Stella as soon as the host opened the show. His eyes glittered mischievously for reasons I didn't know.

"It's okay."

"What a pretty thing! She was wearing a short, knee-length white dress and it fit her perfectly. Just like me back then, she also had trouble with her false eyelashes."

Ah that. Stella did complain about false eyelashes that made her so hard to blink while at our wedding.

"Ah that's the groom," pointed Stella towards the stage. A man of medium height, bespectacled and wearing a full white suit stood firm and smiled broadly at the invited guests.

Earlier on the way here Stella had told me about the groom or his cousin's future husband. His name is Alvian, a young, well-known lawyer, who first met Kat when she started working at their family law firm three years ago.

Music began to play and cheers from the guests sitting in the back signified the arrival of the bride. Kat, Stella's short-haired and somewhat exotic-skinned cousin, walks slowly with her father.

"Both brides are welcome to kiss each other," the general host.

Both the bride and groom who have given each other a promise kissed each other with the background of the waves of the open sea and sunset. I admit it's one of the most beautiful sights for a wedding.

Amongst the applause of the other guests, I heard Stella's voice speak softly.

"Oh very romantic. Like the scenes in the drama."

I then looked. At that moment the orange beam from the sunset made Stella's eyes slightly reflect her dark color, strands of her bangs were also split in the middle because they were blown by the wind, while she smiled widely. For a while at that moment, Stella seemed to shine. I never thought there would be a time when I would describe him with the word shine, but that's the way it is. It was as if all the features I had once considered to be lacking were no longer visible, changing with a new figure that was so radiant, inside and out.

My heart beats fast, my face heats up. I'm lucky no one noticed because I'm sure I look weird. Whatisthis? I've never felt this uneasy, not once.

I shook my head trying to get rid of that feeling, thank God Stella's father immediately continued to invite me to speak after that and to shift my mind.

"Ah if I knew the scenery would be this beautiful, I would definitely propose that your reception party be held on the beach or in the open first" Stella's father chuckled. I just smiled thinly while nodding slowly.

"Yes right, too" I replied, because that was the only response I missed.

The entire guest sat back down and I slowly managed to calm my abnormal heartbeat. What a strange moment. I'm sure it was just a result of me getting carried away from her wedding. I'm being too sensitive for one thing or another, but now everything's fine. I could turn my head towards Stella without showing any strange reaction as she called out to me.

"Luiz, I'm going to the toilet" Stella said.

"okay."

Stella nodded towards me. I blinked back.

"...why not go?"

Stella chuckled and scratched her cheek, "The bathroom is far away and it's quiet?"

Oh. I nodded and started to stand up. Stella caught up with me but somehow she stood up, she suddenly got on her own feet and fell to the sand. There were roughly ten pairs of eyes that instantly noticed the incident while I was too shocked to react.

"Ouch..." Stella muttered, her face instantly flushed red and she fluttered. Immediately, I crouched down and helped him stand up.

"Stella, be careful dear," Stella's father and mother looked worriedly.

Not wrong, I was just getting carried away. There was no way I would suddenly feel any kind of strange feeling or excitement for Stella who couldn't even stand up properly. No, it's impossible.

"Oh it's a shame." said Stella as soon as we were away from the other guests. He pursed his lips and puffed his cheeks.

"Is there a wound?" I asked while looking at his feet.

Stella shakes.

"Yes, who forgot about it. They won't remember when they get home either."

"OK.sorry yes Luiz."

I let out a breath. How else, he was always careless at the wrong time. I hinted him to continue walking through a helping hand, "No need to apologize. You're not wrong."
