CITY SITE: ALPHA & OMEGA

CITY SITE: ALPHA & OMEGA
Episode 8

Saturday, which felt so far away for Alfa, finally arrived. As of this morning, Alfa has not been able to contact Omega. LINE's message went unrequited, the phone to her phone went unanswered, and when Alfa tried to meet Omega on the 8th floor of Golden Greek's office, she couldn't find Omega there.

No one can describe how frustrated Alpha has been in recent days. Well, Alfa's been trying to find an explanation for why she's gotten that way to meet Omega. Alfa initially only suspected that she needed a interlocutor. During this time he could not chat with Zeta about the company matters because his sister did not understand business matters at all. Want to talk to his parents too, Alfa is lazy. Time to go home that was talked about office business again?

Omega rarely spoke, but the girl was able to offset the talk of Golden Greek financial health. Once Alfa spent a full day answering emails with Omega talking about the reporting of her company's investments that she had classified as held-to-maturity when recently she actively doubled her investment in secondary market.

There are accounting consequences that Alfa must accept from moving the investment classification to available-for-sale securities. Some considerations and calculations that he did still could not make him decide whether to reclassify the investment or not.

Omega is a name that immediately appears once the brain of Alpha has been stuck. When Omega responded to the email and advised Golden Greek auditors, they were immediately stuck on endless emails. Alfa marveled. She still couldn't believe the little teenager she knew back then had now turned into a great intelligent woman.

A lot of things are surprising for Alfa. Not only did Omega change his way of dressing, his thinking, but also his attitude. Alpha remembers Omega never looked directly at him. Omega is also more mute or like awkward talk with Alpha. It is only in recent years that Alpha has seen Omega more fluently speaking, although in recent years they have rarely met.

Now then? Omega was so fluent and confident he chatted with Alfa as if Alfa was indeed his playmate. Indeed Omega still looks respectful and disinclined with him because he is Zeta's brother, but something has changed. The teenage girl who never dared to show her blue eyes to Alfa, transformed into a woman who immediately locked the view of Alfa in the blue eyes.

Alfa speculated that she just wanted to find out how the Omega Dianblue she knew could change. Well, luckily it changed in a more positive direction. Not usually Alfa is difficult to get his wish and is not able to solve the problems he faces. The difficulty of dealing with Omega is what Alfa feels has affected him in recent days.

That's why he's frustrated.

At least according to Alfa.

The anticipated Saturday arrived. Last night when Zeta invited her beloved sister home, Alfa had already asked anyone who would come. Simply asking Zeta and Alfa can already confirm the arrival of Omega.

“There's an Omega tomorrow. Who else can I cook with?” so Zeta said to Alfa last night.

Good though. At least this Saturday will treat Alfa's frustration. Well, hopefully.

Alfa enters Zeta's house without knocking on her door. He found no one in the living room and family. Only when he had walked to the kitchen, Alfa could see his sister was struggling with the microwave that seemed to have just been lit.

“Hi, Ze!” alfa's greeting to her sister.

Zeta turned around and saw Alfa putting some bags of brown paper. Inevitably the woman immediately shook her head. “This is shopping where, anyway? Lots of buying.”

“That's Mama's care. He said bumil should eat from organic ingredients. Mama has ordered that shopping should not forget to buy organic. Let expensive little important healthy.” Alfa spoke up not wanting to be considered that she was the one who bothered to shop for her sister.

“What Mom said deh,” Zeta replied lazily. “Eh, where are the others?” Alpha asked. Who else is it? The other is of course just Omega. Is there any more?

Zeta replied while still struggling with his microwave, “Leo usual still snoring above, he must have just come down if the food was ready. Mega again in the same back garden Barry.”

Zeta, who had her back to Alfa, could not see that her answer had hardened her brother's jaw. “Oh, again dating them?” Alfa tried to jest casually.

Quickly Zeta turned around and jumped towards Alfa. His hand tried to grab and cover Alfa's mouth. Somewhat difficult indeed because they stand with a bar table that is quite high.

“Psst!” Zeta whispers. Alpha throws a view of ‘apa-sih-Ze’ but Zeta doesn't care.

“Barry equals Mega out of action. Not long ago, anyway.”

WHATS?

Alfa surprise. Zeta knows.

“Iya, Mas. They broke up and I'm the same Leo doesn't know at all. Barry stayed here last night because they were out until morning. Leo thought Mega was still Barry, so Leo didn't tell Barry that Mega wanted to come here this morning.” Zeta explained.

Alfa nodded her head while listening carefully.

“I swear I'm still Skype-an Mega this biweekly and he didn't say anything. Mega just a story again a lot of work ranging from ngaudit Mas office to meet clients outside the city.” Zeta throws her gaze towards the garden which is bordered by a glass door from the direction of the dining room.

“Mega doesn't tell me anything. I feel like I'm not really good at being his friend.” Tears almost came down from the corner of Zeta's eye.

“Maybe Mega is not ready for the story? Your husband is your ex's co-worker, certainly awkward if you have to tell the same story you.” Alfa tried to give a logical reason. The work of the Alpha is always about something.

Zeta shrugged her shoulders as if she did not understand. “I'm still hoping, Mas. Hopefully they can reverse it again. They’re too good to be true. They’re best friend for each other and I know it. Mega must have felt really lost.”

Alfa wanted to silence her sister's mouth. Sometimes Alpha wants to teach Zeta how to stop talking. His sister likes to forget that we mostly say words can hurt others. No harm, but it feels like Zeta's words just scratched Alfa's ego.

In the other corner of the house were Omega and Barry sitting side by side. Don't ask me what it's like. Omega felt he wanted to enter the hemisphere if he could. Come to Zeta's house and find Barry out of the guest bathroom with wet hair shampooing it makes Omega hangers right away.

Both were shocked, of course. Awkward is sure. Barry immediately fled to the guest room on the second floor. While Omega directly met Zeta who is still preparing ocha in the kitchen.

“Why is Barry here, Ze?” ask directly to the owner of the house.

Zeta confused, “Lah, Barry didn't ngabarin lo? Zero semalem gig until morning. Barry is not strong if he has to go home, so he lives here.”

Huft.

Omega took a long breath. It's his fault for not telling Zeta that he broke up with Barry. If only he had told Zeta, he would not have met Barry this early in the morning. But how do you tell? Where should you start the story? Omega still can't believe she just cut her ties with Barry.

“You fight, yes?” Zeta asks while offering ocha to Omega.

Omega shakes uninspired. “Gue breaks up with Barry, Ze,”.

Zeta's eyes instantly enlarged as if they were about to escape from her round face. “MEGA! HOW CAN?”

“What the hell, Ze? Don't scream, ah.”

The Zetas directly hold onto Omega's shoulders and align their eyesight. Look at the Zeta looking at the two Omega blue eyes. “When? Why don't you tell me the same story?”

Omega is not sure where to start. He finally spoke as is, “Udah almost two weeks. I'm not telling you the same story because I'm also confused why break up, how to break up, what's the reason for breaking up, I also don't understand, Zeta.”

Indeed the girl no longer cried considering the relationship that ran aground, but still the scar was still felt. Five years of knowing Barry, three years of dating, how could those memories be thrown away like they never existed?

Zeta carries Omega in her arms. “Ya already if you do not want to tell a story is also okay. How about now?

He was already here, when I drove home?”

Omega took another breath. “Yes don't, Ze. No problemo, really. I need to talk to him too.”

Yep. That's why he and Barry are here now. Sitting on a wooden bench that is deliberately placed in the back garden for the benefit of enjoying the paradise of the world called natural beauty even if only briefly. Barry and him are here. It is absurd and could not be more strange. Destiny is funny. They like to play with human life.

“How have you been so far, Megs?” Barry's voice broke their silence.

Omega tried to smile even though stiff. “Where is it okay after breaking up anyway, Bar?”

Barry nodded. “Good then's. I thought I was the one who was ruined.”

Omega feels stuck. Barry was destroyed too? He began to question the wisdom of the decision they had taken—correction, he had already taken. Will this destruction pay off in the future?

“You're ruined but didn't tell Leo anything?” Omega replace asked.

Barry smiled bitterly at Omega, “If I tell you, I'll be ruined, Megs. It’s better to pretend being fine sometimes, so that you will eventually believe that you’re fine.”

That’s so pathetic, thought the Omega in his heart. Then he thought of himself. He also did not tell anyone about his current situation. Maybe he wants to pretend that everything is okay in the hope that everything will be okay in the end.

“Meg, you're looking for Zeta, tuh. He said he did not know he had to be flanked again if he had been taken out of the microwave.” Alfa's baritone voice conveyed a message from Zeta, making Omega then immediately rise to his feet and say goodbye to meet Zeta at the two men nearby.

As soon as Omega walked out of the garden, the smile on Alpha's face disappeared. Only the ferocity of his eyes was left behind, staring intently at Barry. “Stop diseakin Mega,” says Alfa Chilled.

Barry looked at the man in front of him with a clueless look. “Sori, Bro, but my business is the same Megs is none of your business. Just keep your business hours and stay away from mine. You know Mega, anyway? Zeta is the one who should feel lucky Mega still wants to win with him. Mending urucin sister lo first.”

No less fierce Barry finished off Alfa's gaze and then left him alone in the back garden. Alfa held back her anger. Angry about three things. One; Alpha clearly knows Omega and Omega for longer like its own sister. So Barry had no right to say like Alfa's anger was misaddressed. Two; the Omega affair will be his business as well because Omega is his sister's good friend. Three; indeed Barry who easily judges who is luckier than whom in Zeta's friendship with Omega? Alfa's hands clenched full of annoyance. Obviously he has to keep Barry away from Zeta and Omega. Immediately.

Lunch has just finished and the whole ‘make-together-at-home-Zeta’ event attendees are now moving seats to the living room. Omega shared everything on the fruit pudding he made last night. Special for today.

“Say, daughter of song from my iPod dong, please. It's nice to eat pudding while listening to the song.” Leo, who was busy picking his pudding, asked his wife for help.

Zeta just follow and put Leo's iPod on speaker. “You what song?” tanyakanya. Leo flicked his hand hinting anything was up to Zeta.

“This is all. Just put it on your iPod like,” answered Zeta and the song went before anyone could stop it.

When the sun shines so bright

My heart goes into deep fight

Then I try to walk on the flower path

But our memories torturing me hard

Tell me how to bear it? Must I just got killed?

Would you release me and just disappear?

Leo's voice came from the speaker. This is Zero's new song. Barry's hand froze. His song. He wrote after breaking up with Omega. Leo caught him playing the key to this song while they were recording. All his bandmates suddenly agreed to include this song into their new album material later.

Ill-mannered.

Barry cursed in his heart.

Omega heard. Before he could edit whatever he wrote there. Omega heard it and Barry watched it directly with his eyes. It was not mentioned earlier that fate is indeed like making things up.

Thought I had tried so hard

to love more than you’ve ever asked

Then I collecting the will that I got

to protect more than you’ve ever wanted

If I do so will your heart ever be mine though?

If I did so would it be different, oh?

I hate how my world is still staying

I’m still waking up in the morning

and find out nothing

of your belongings

Now replace the frozen Omega. Without needing an explanation, Omega knew this was Barry's song. A song for her, for their relationship that somehow ran aground. Some time ago, Omega secretly picked up some of his things left behind in Barry's house. She thought Barry didn't realize it, but it turned out that the man knew? Gosh darn. Barry's angry at Omega?

It kills me to look up for the moonlight

It kills me to portray the skies full of starlight

I stand here try to forget that you’re the light

I ain’t got it right

I ain’t thinking straight

Kills

Alfa enjoyed it. He could feel the same pain and anger that he felt when Echoes dumped him first in this song. How honest are the lyrics to this song. The author must have been literally falling in the same hole he was five years ago.

I always tried to count my runaways

the stupid ticking time

But love keeps making me go back

running back to you

only you's….

Zeta's cry broke out suddenly making one of the contents of the room jump in shock. His feelings can't be held back anymore. One by one the most important people in his life were hurt by love. The people who taught him about love were crushed by love. First Alpha with Echoes. Now then? Mega with Barry. Zeta was so overwhelmed by her sadness.

“Why, Say?” Leo immediately grabbed his wife.

Zeta is still choking and crying softly in Leo's arms. Barry decided to stand up and turn off the music. No one is ready to listen to him now. “Mega, why did Elo and Barry break up, anyway? You guys made me sure to marry Leo. You guys ... you guys are always my picture that soulmate is reality.”

Omega stared at his friend still in the void. “Because nothing is perfect, Ze. I and Barry are not as perfect as you see.”

“Can't you guys go back? Alfa as well! Can't Mas Alfa and Kak Gema walk together anymore? Why do you guys who I'm sure have found the best couple have to end up kayaking now?” Zeta just kept talking in the middle of her stuffing.

Alpha is unable to speak. His cold hands were clenched. So this song is for Omega? His mind floated around thinking about how far Omega and Barry's relationship had gone until this one song could be created.

Omega felt her shortness of breath recur. The pain in the chest came out again. He gave up on losing and let the pain eat away at his chest. Making friends with this pain seemed to be a last resort for him.

Barry laughed bitterly. “Ze, don't be so naive. Only the person himself can know whether they have found his best partner or not.”

Zeta was crying. Omega is not strong anymore.

His hand clapped his chest. Alfa saw that and immediately panicked. “You okay, Meg?” Alfa got up from her seat and approached the sofa where Omega was sitting.

Omega was only able to shake his head. Then the hand rubbed his head. Hands that can calm him easily. Barry's hand. Omega no longer patted his chest. Pain subsided.

Alfa just watched the scene in a mute. For the first time in his life Alfa felt to be the most useless person. There was a strange feeling of slipping in his silence. Worried? Upset with yourself? Afraid? But the most dominating thing is jealousy.

Who are you, Alpha?

Shits.

Alfa hated the reality presented in front of her eyes.
