Chasing Dusk

Family Gathering

The sound of knocking on the door of the room resuscitated Dusk and Amelia who dissolved in their minds.

"Excuse me, non.." Mr. Johan entered carrying 2 jumbo bags owned by Amelia, followed by his wife Ana bi. The husband and wife had been working at Amelia's house since she was young, shortly after Amelia's father and mother got married and chose not to live with Amelia's grandparents in Surabaya.

Mr. Johan went straight out after putting the suitcase in the corner of the room, while bi Ana stayed.

"Master has returned non. Madam told non Lia and non Dusk to come down for dinner" said bi Ana.

Husband and wife do sometimes talk, but very diligent work.

Amelia immediately changed her clothes and took Dusk down to dinner. Anwar and Rossi were waiting for them at the dinner table.

"Hi Dad." Amelia kissed her father on the cheek and sat down on the chair beside him.

"Hi Dusk. What time are you coming home from the hospital?"

"Not long om. That's when Radit's brother finished the operation we went straight to lunch at the cafe in front of the hospital."

Anwar chuckles at the behavior of his son and wife. "Right? Also, I could not believe when I saw Dusk there. I thought it was just someone similar. Anwar said proudly as if he had managed to find a needle among the haystack.

Dusk that was not strong resisted the pain fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital. After waking up (post-surgery) Dusk returned hysterical and raging until he fainted again because the stitches in the scar of the operation opened and released quite a lot of blood, he said, so Anwar and Radit decided to treat Dusk at home, let alone Radit a doctor. Since then they have never brought Dusk to the hospital even though there was a time when the physical condition of Dusk drop due to fatigue. Dusk was reluctant to just set foot in the hospital. Entering the hospital yard alone he was reluctant, until finally Radit brought Dusk to meet his friend who is a Psychiatrist. Dusk is diagnosed with PTSD and is required for therapy. Only three months after Dusk followed a therapy that he did not succeed, so Dusk decided it was better not to set foot around the hospital, and all this time he was fine. Then today they were shocked by the news that Dusk was coming to the hospital. For what??

Amelia was so curious, but her father Anwar upheld the habit of not talking while eating.

"How did you get to the hospital? You're not sick, are you? how's it going there? are you not hysterical? C'mon Ja. I'm curious."

"I was afraid to go to the hospital. About two hours I was just pacing back and forth in fear, and then I decided to take medicine before going to the hospital. So maybe that's what caused me to be able to get in and out alive" Dusk chuckled softly as if he was telling something funny, while the three people who were with him just silently gawked, waiting for Dusk to continue his story..

"Udah? just so?" Amelia asked after Dusk long silent.

Dusk nodded slowly..

It was clearly a disappointed look from the faces of the three of them.

"For sure this time I didn't go berserk and hysterical until I fainted. There was a bit of anxiety until I broke out in cold sweat, but I was fine until I got out of the hospital. Radit didn't realize that I was really scared at the time. Om Anwar also saw that I was okay, right?" Tanya Dusk tried to convince 3 humans who were still curious.

"Jeez Twilight. That's not what makes us curious. Why did you arrive to the hospital. Strangely enough, we have been trying to eliminate your trauma, but no way and method has worked. When you are sick, you refuse to go to the hospital. Then what spirit possessed you today until you dared to set foot in the hospital suddenly." Amelia said excitedly.

"The house stays here, right?" Aunty Rossi's questioning broke the silence.

"Senja nginap. It's been forced by Amel since last night, so Dusk has permission from Bi' Ratih and Radit's brother. Dusk has also brought a change of clothes." There was a hint of pride in his voice like a boy staying out of the house for the first time.
