Chasing Dusk

Chasing Dusk
My best friend Amelia

The atmosphere of the airport was quite crowded. It looks like people are passing by, while Dusk is leaning casually on the airport pole in front of the arrival terminal, Terminal 1 of Soekarno-Hatta airport. Not long waiting, there appeared a sparkling black haired girl who was deliberately let unravel waved her excitedly towards Dusk.

Amelia Risma's. Friend of the Twilight since childhood who just finished the Intership program at one of the Hospitals in the city of Heroes. During her internship there, Amelia only returned to Jakarta twice.

Twilight returned Amel's hand. Sumringah's face. He misses his best friend very much.

Dusk looked at Amel who was approaching him, who looked painstakingly pulling two large suitcases.

Dusk giggled to see his best friend and hurriedly approached, taking one of Amelia's suitcases.

"I guess you've brought the handsome prince who voluntarily brought your suitcase, which I'm sure isn't all under" Ledek Dusk.

Amelia grinned the horse.

"Other things I've sent through the expedition. These are just a few important items that I have to take care of."

"Wowww. Some very little yah.." Said Dusk sarcartis staring at the 2 Jumbo-sized suitcases.

Amelia chuckles.

It is difficult to payang they put 2 giant suitcases (according to the size of Dusk) into the car.

"Crazy you Amel. What's it all about?"

"That's it. You know that later."

"There's by - by me?" Twilight

"Are you ever buying by - for me?" Amelia

Now the two girls embrace to let go of the longing for not meeting.

"I miss." Twilight

"I miss you more." Amelia

"Reverse yuk." Dusk releases a hug and leads Amelia into his car.

Dusk carries his car at moderate speed. They can't avoid Jakarta's traffic jams in the afternoon.

"It could be late at night when we get home. I miss Mother." Amelia grumbled from traffic jams in some places that made their journey home feel very slow.

"Propay non. It will also be home."

Dusk stopped the car because of the red light. Seemed some buskers who scramble towards their respective target cars. Two children approached the car. They sing along to a small keroncong although the sound is not heard clearly because the car glass is tightly closed. Dusk looked pityfully at two children who seemed excited to sing a song, hoping to give a helping hand to people in the car would share a little fortune to them to just fill the stomach.

The lights had turned green, the sound of car horns resuscitated Dusk from his daydream. Dusk lowered his car glass to give a piece of blue money to the two buskers who received it with joy. Smiles on their innocent faces.

"Thank you brother." Say them at the same time and run away.

Amelia smiled at her best friend. "You're still a generous twilight." Amelia cheered, clapping softly.

"They're little kids. It's dark but it's still on the streets. They try to make a little money amid their fear of social workers who might catch them. Don't you feel sorry?"

"Who is not sorry? I also have a heart as soft as silk." Amelia defended herself. "Lucky the light was green. Otherwise you are already in the crowd of other buskers hoping to get the same great fortune." Amelia.

Dusk smile. His gaze focused on the road, keeping his car steady.

"You are also still Amelia who is carrying, whose mouth cannot be silent. I'll feel sorry for your patients."

Amelia chuckles.

"I'm sure they're very happy to be served by a beautiful doctor like me." Amelia said, always narcissistic.

They kept chattering about their experiences until their cars entered an elite residential area.

"Mrrr.."

The mother and son embraced affectionately even though they had only met last month in Surabaya, coinciding with Amelia's father who was out there on assignment..

Amelia's mother took off Amelia's arms and hugged Dusk.

"Hallo darling. Long time no see."

Aunt Rossi, as Dusk called him. A middle-aged woman who remains beautiful and looks youthful in her 50s, a former artist who retired from Entertainment shortly after marrying Anwar. Aunt Rossi dedicated her life to taking care of her family.

"Senja also miss Aunt Rossi." Dusk returned a tight hug to his mother Amelia.

"Dad not come home yet?" Amelia asked her mother.

"When did you come home at this hour?" Aunt Rossi asked back

Amelia grinned the horse, showing off her milk-white teeth.

"It's possible that father came home quickly for the sake of his only daughter. Even though the odds are one in a million."

The three of them laughed lightly.

"Have gone to the room and changed clothes. It smells asem. Mommy also wants to help bi' Ana prepare dinner."

Amelia kissed the cheek of her mother and went to her room at Dusk.

"I miss my simple room." Amelia dropped herself on a large bed located in the middle of her spacious room.

"If this luxurious room you say is simple, my room must be in the slum category."

Twilight said comparing her room size to only half the size of Amelia's room, which is dominated by pink, Amelia's favorite color that has remained consistent since she was a child, colors that are not liked by Dusk.

"Huuuu Don't pretend to be poor Ja." Amelia moved her lips as if mocking Dusk.

"Hello Kitty dear.." Amelia clutches a stuffed cat head that is bigger than her head.

"Hi barbie's..." Amelia went on to greet the girl who was neatly lined up with no life but her clothes were much nicer and more expensive than the lifeless boy who was busking at the red light. Toy dolls from Uncle Sam country that can only be bought by high-class girls whose clothes and accessories can even be changed, which has been in the collection of Amelia since she was a child.

Dusk looked at Amelia cluelessly with her behavior greeting each toy neatly arranged in a large glass cabinet complete with a collection of expensive clothes of the dolls..

"You seem to miss them more than your best friend. You weird doctor" said Dusk sewot.

Amelia chuckles. "The freak is a jealous guy with a doll."

"I thought you'd be converted after a year of not playing with your girl."

"I cannot forget and leave my children. You know for yourself how I've taken care of them since childhood."

"Yes yes Barbie's mommy. It's up to you." Dusk relented knowing that arguing over his collection of dolls that Dusk would never win.

"It's nice to meet you, my best friend." Dusk smiled at his best friend who missed him so much.

Over a year they did not meet, only communicating through technological sophistication. It was also rare because of the busyness of Amelia while working at the Hospital. Amelia was placed in the ER where her patients never ran out. Free time used by Amelia to rest her body. Only 2 times Amelia returned to Jakarta, not long. And that's when Dusk was out of town. Dusk had also been to Surabaya and took time to the Hospital where Amelia interned. Intended to surprise before returning to Jakarta, but he came home disappointed because Amelia was attending the Seminar, while Dusk could not wait because of the scheduled departure.

"It's nice to meet you, too, my best friend who feels like she's Lara Croft."

Amelia approached Dusk, hugged him tightly, trying to let go of their longing for the first time apart for quite a long time.

"Tell me about your experience. Happy to work at the hospital?"

Amelia nodded and began to tell her experience excitedly.

This time Dusk seriously listened word by word that came out of Amelia's lips. Smiling as Amelia smiled recounted the male child patient who had always chased after her tenaciously, shed tears as Amelia with a sad face recounted her first experience of seeing the person in her care take her last breath in front of Amelia. There was a hint of a strange taste tickling in the heart of Dusk.

Amelia looked at the silent Dusk in her daydream, not realizing that Amelia had stopped talking.

"One day, you can feel the same experience Ja." Amelia hugged Dusk tightly. He knows how his best friend feels.
