Captain Arkan

Captain Arkan
Ch. 6 First Meeting

Arkan brushed off Mitha's hand, and shifted to give her some distance.

"You're the volunteer sent this morning?"

"Yes you know me sir? Are you the one my Papa sent to take me home sir?"

"Who's Papa? I don't know him!"

Mitha glanced right and left, after being sure no one had heard her tell her identity.

"I'm Mitha, daughter of General Baskoro!"

Arkan shut up and scrunched his forehead. His eyes stared intently at Mitha.

Hah it turns out that I was right, this spoiled girl that Mama chose to be my wife. Since you don't recognize your own fiancee, well we'll play hide and seek here.

"Why are you silent sir? You know Papa Iike?"

"If I knew your father why? Here I am in power!"

"It's so arrogant of you! I just want to go home, I don't want to live in a shabby place like this!" Mitha started crying again.

"Hey why are you crying? Stop your crying, people will think that I'm bullying you!"

"You did oppress me! I want to go home! I have to go home!" Mitha screamed loudly.

"Good! Get all your stuff done and get out of here!"

Arkan walked out of the tent and let Mitha who was still crying while tidying up her things. Mitha was really reckless.

When the sun shines brightly, I need to get out of this place. I don't want to be here, I'd better get married to that bloke.

Mitha got out of the tent and started walking through the forest. He ignored the cries of his friends who tried to resist leaving now.

"The genie reports the Captain!" Sergeant Sandi also acted.

"Continue!"

"The girl really went from..."

Not yet had he finished his sentence, Arkan had already dashed out and tried to chase after Mitha. Arkan asked everyone who saw him, they pointed to the streets that were still covered in fog.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Sandi also chased after the captain. He still felt astonished, since when did his Captain become concerned about women?

*****

Arkan took a shortcut by breaking through the forest. According to his calculations the girl has not gone far, I will definitely arrive first at this intersection. Shortly thereafter Sergeant Sandi came after him.

"Why are you following me Sandi?"

"This area is very dangerous Captain!"

"You know this place is dangerous, but you left dozens of people there!"

"I just want to protect you, Captain!"

"You go home, I'll be fine. After meeting the girl will be back soon."

"But Captain...!"

Suddenly I heard a cry for help.

"Please! Help me!"

Arkan and Sandi searched for the source of the sound, seemingly not far from where they stood.

"Whoever yells for help, shout!" shout Arkan.

"Help me! I'm down here!"

Arkan and Sandi approached the edge of a fairly deep ravine, it seemed like an avalanche had just occurred.

"Are you down there?"

"Yes I'm here, help me!"

Arkan saw a body that depended on the roots of the tree. Arkan rushed down, but the terrain was too slippery and steep.

"Be careful Captain, it's very dangerous!" shout Sandi. Arkan nodded.

"Hold on, I'll help you!"

"I can no longer! Huhuhuhuhu help me! I'm scared!"

"Calm down, you gonna be okay?"

Arkan asks Sandi to go back to the tent and ask for help. He will try to get down even if it is difficult.

"Let me get off Captain!"

"Sergeant Password carry out my orders!"

"Ready on Captain!"

"Help me, huhuhuhuhu..."

Arkan crawled trying to get down the slippery lip of the ravine. It relies on one tree root and moves to another root. He finally got close to the girl.

"I'll help you! You take my hand!"

Mitha tried to grab Arkan's hand, but he failed to reach her. While his trembling hands were no longer able to hold the roots of the tree.

"Give me your hand, I'll hold it!"

Mitha reached out her trembling hand, Arkan managed to grab it but Mitha's grip was detached from the tree root. Now he can only hope for Arkan.

Damn, the roots of this tree can't hold us both. There was no other choice we had to jump down. The eagle looked down and up. The distance is not too high and below there is a river. Even if we fall we won't die, maybe just get injured.

"Hey girl crybaby, throw away the bag that's on your back!"

Arkan screamed but there was no answer.

It looks like he fainted, there's no other choice. We have to jump down.

Arkan swung his hand, trying to lift the girl's body. After she managed to hug him, Arkan released his grip from the roots of the tree. They also fell and rolled into the river.

Arkan tried to swim to the edge. He had trouble pulling the girl's body. Arkan took off the mountain bag that became heavier after getting wet, then tried to resuscitate Mitha.

Arkan shook his body, patting both of his cheeks. Mitha was conscious. He rubbed his slightly blurred eyes, and pushed hard on Arkan's body.

"What are you doing!" Mitha retreated and covered her wet body.

"I? I just saved you a whiny girl and you pushed me hard!"

Mitha recalled the previous events.

I almost fell into the abyss, and I cried out for help. It turned out that he helped me.

Mitha grabbed her wet backpack. She was cold, but there was nothing she could wear. Arkan, who knew him, went to look for wood.

"Hey Sir... Where are you going?"

Arkan did not answer. Mitha got up and chased after him.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm coming with you"

"Stay here, I'll find some wood"

"No, I'm coming!"

Huh, Arkan also let Mitha follow him.

"Aawww... My leg!" Mitha grimaced in pain.

"What's wrong?" Arkan saw Mitha fall down because of the slippery road.

"I told you, you stay there. You're really troublesome!"

Mitha looked down sad. No one has ever scolded her. But this time this man has repeatedly snapped at him. Mitha cried without a sound. Her tears are flowing very hard. Arkan sighed.

"All right, forgive me. Stop crying, I'll get you there"

Mitha complied as Arkan swept her away. As he wrapped his hands around Arkan's neck, his hands touched the viscous liquid that smelled fishy. Mitha looked at his hand.

The blood! This liquid turned out to be blood!

Mitha looked behind Arkan's back, her back shirt torn, Mitha checked her. But Arkan is in the way.

"What are you doing? I'm fine!"

Arkan continued to walk to Mitha, without giving Mitha a chance to see the wound on her back.

"You sit there, I'll light a fire to warm you up."

Mitha nodded, she then took out some canned food from inside her backpack. Arkan smiled seeing it.

"Are you volunteering or going on a picnic? Why is all your bags filled with food?"

Mitha laughed. Arkan was so festering at the sweet dimples of his cheeks.
