Broken Glass

Broken Glass
Chapter 15

“I allow Mother and children to stay in the shophouse. Later how does Riri leave for school?” asked Dayan who was still thinking about his eldest son.

“If you want to pick up Riri please, I thank you. But if you do not want, let Riri take the bus or ojol. We can live three lives without Mr,” replied Bestari.

Dayan's heart was like being squeezed tightly. Very painful, when he heard the words of the wife who said they could live three without him. His mistake was indeed fatal and I don't know what would be forgiven. Regretting is no use now.

“Do the kids know about us, Mom?” Dayan turned to his wife who was staring straight at the television screen in front of them.

“I just told Riri. I'm still waiting for the right time to tell Ratna,” said Bestari without taking her eyes off.

“Our kids are kids, Mom. Do you not want to think again about the impact for children if we live separately.”

Bestari took another deep breath. “I've been thinking about this, sir. I think it's better for us to stay apart than for the kids to see that we're always fighting. I know their hearts ache when they see or hear us quarrel. Eventually it will have an effect on their mentality as well. Moreover, they are already 6th grade SD and 3rd SMP. They should be able to focus on studying in the face of the graduation exam, but because of your stupid actions, it makes them so unable to focus anymore.”

“I know, I was wrong, Mom. I am stupid.”

“Iya. Very, very stupid for being lured into the seduction of other women. If this Father is rich, maybe you will have many wives because there must be many women who ask to be married. Mr. Dayan who is kind and feels sorry for them, of course, will not have the heart to reject it,” said Bestari.

“Luckily yes, I only have one wife siri, so the sin is not too much because it is not fair to two wives,” added the forty-year-old woman.

"I can't imagine that you're rich and have a high position. Somehow the fate of our household. Maybe I won't last this long. Or maybe we will never mate because of the taste of the Father's 'a woman who is coquettish and likes to dress sexy." Bestari still continued to reveal what was on her mind.

"Don't think anything, ma'am. It's not real either."

Bestari laughed mockingly. "If it's real, it's not like this. You might even be the loan shark." She left, leaving her husband alone in the living room. Go into his eldest daughter's room and sleep there.

Bestari applied for a one-day leave to seek a loan at the bank at the head of her section. Fortunately, his boss understood after he told him the truth.

On leave, Bestari went from one bank to another to seek loan application information. However, only the red plate banks and the large private banks he came to because of his credibility. Not like Dayan who just looking for a bank.

After weighing up, Bestari finally put forward a debt to the bank that can give the largest loan with the lowest interest. With a shophouse certificate, salary slip, and additional income from the plant business, the woman applied for the maximum loan she could get with a period of fifteen years.

A few days later, during the disbursement of funds, Bestari entered work for half a day. He asked Dayan to come to the bank to sign with the bank. Because they are still tied as husband and wife, the bank needs both of their signatures. After the signing process, the money of three hundred million rupiah went directly into the Bestari account. The woman could now faintly sigh in relief since the money was already in hand.

Bestari then contacted Wildan to coordinate. They plan to meet with loan sharks without Dayan. Trying to negotiate to reach an agreement.

“Mas Wildan, thank God I have earned money, but only three hundred million. How ya?” bestari said when she met Wildan.

“God willing we can negotiate to pay anyway,” Wildan said.

“Later when meeting can ‘kan Mas Wildan who helped me to talk?” please Bestari.

“Insya Allah I help, Mom. Tomorrow I'll talk to them.”

“I help because we are fellow Muslims. And also, I also do not accept Mother treated Mr. Dayan like this.”

“Keep the plan to see Norman when, Mas?”

“How about next Monday? This week I can't.”

“OK, Mom. I'll call Erwin. Oh yeah, Mas, starting Sunday tomorrow me and the kids will stay at the shophouse. I can't live in the same house as my husband. Every day we fight more because of the house. I feel sorry for the mental kids,” Bestari story.

“If according to Mom it's the best thing yes please.”

Sunday morning, busy packing clothes and books began to be done after dawn prayers. Riri packed the necessary books until the time of the exam, as did Ratna. Bestari prepared breakfast before packing her clothes and some household appliances during her stay.

Dayan just kept quiet to see the busyness of his family members.  He is more busy with his work. Whether there is anything in the rectangular flat object, which makes it never take off unless it is to the bathroom or is praying.

After breakfast is ready, Bestari, Riri, and Ratna eat together without Dayan who goes to filial work after getting an announcement from the Chairman of RW.

“Bu, I can bring my pillow and doll yes?” asked Ratna who had just picked up the pedal again.

“Iya, may, but do not all yes. There's only one room for the three of us.”

“Iya, Mom. I only brought one doll. I can't sleep if I don't hug my doll.”

“Iya, it's okay.”

“Bu, means we bring toiletries, blankets, pillows, and folding mattresses huh?” This time Riri asked.

“Iya, the mattress ‘kan if to sleep three too mepet. Let me sleep later on the folding mattress.”

“I'm the only one who sleeps in a folding mattress, Mom,” said the eldest. “I'd rather sleep under,” he added.

“Iya, it's up to you. Later when you are done, help Mom collect dishes, spoon, and glasses yes.” Bestari looked at the elder.

“Siap, Mom. I'm just a little bit more done. After washing the dishes I continue to pack clothes continue to help Mom.”

“Thank you, Ri.”

“I also want to help Mom, but I'm not done yet,” complained Ratna with a frown.

“You mostly play, so don't finish. After this do not play games anymore so we can finish quickly continue us to the shophouse and arrange the goods there,” said Riri.

“Iya—iya, Mbak.”
