COMPETITION

Rio was slumped weakly on the hospital bed. An infusion hose was attached to his left hand. His face was not as pale as it was this morning while still at home. But he also has not fully recovered. Doctors diagnosed Rio with typhus.

" Thank you Nin." Rio voice sounded softly staring at Anindya by the bedside.

Anindya smiled she corrected the blanket covering Rio's body. Take a piece of fruit and feed the man. Rio felt lucky that there was Anindya beside him otherwise what would he be now.

" Should I call mom? " ask Anindya.

" No, I can't let you know that I'm sick. I don't want to disturb Mom's mind. " Rio shook his head.

" Okay" Anindya stuffed the last piece of watermelon into Rio's mouth.

" Why were you drunk last night. "asked Anindya suddenly making Rio a little embarrassed.

There were footsteps from outside. A knock on the door.

Gendis appeared from behind the door. The girl also brought a plastic parcel that contained nothing.

Anindya was satisfied with Rio who obeyed her. He hopes Gendis does not stay there for long. Sorry Gendis, Rio is still my husband so you are far away from him. Anindya muttered inwardly.

Gendis took her breath. His presence there is no longer needed. He grabbed his bag. Prepare to go home.
