Chapter 22: The Temple of Destiny

“Hey! Oye! what happened?” a young woman asked as she looked at the crowd at a magnificent temple.

Then, the woman beside him replied with a serious expression. “You don't know? that the Summer Land Clan and the Knights of the Round Table Clans have been in frequent conflict lately?”

“Eh~ why can that be?” asked the young lady curiously.

The woman beside him pondered for a moment to compose the right words, as he was unwilling to spare someone from these two great Clans. “Hem .. more or less these two forces want to monopolize the Tample of Destiny. No one knows since when this happened, but rumors say that there was someone who had destroyed these two Clans cruelly, so both suffered huge losses.”

“So ... These two clans are trying to monopolize the important places in the Beginner Region to restore their wealth, huh?” the young lady nodded in understanding as she looked towards the crowd.

The woman beside him nodded lightly. “Well, that's how it happened. But, I'm a little curious as to who can make these two great Clans to be pressed like this.”

“Hah ... This is troublesome, then I go first.” The young lady turned around and waved her hand politely at the person she was talking to.

Moments later, he stopped at a giant tree and jumped up quickly. On the branch of a large tree sat a young man who was closing his eyes while enjoying the wind.

“You have a bad habit of Akane-kun, do you realize that closing your eyes is not good?” the woman nagged at the man while pinched his cheek gently.

“Aw! it hurts Chitose, I'm just enjoying the breeze, you know, right? I am an Assassin, so I am still keeping my guard up, okay?” Akane defended herself without being able to resist Chitose's pinch.

Both of them had already been more than five days ago out of the Prehistoric Black Tomb, and the development of the strength they gained was truly enormous.

Now, the two of them went to the Tample of Destiny to obtain the Ability that Chitose wanted. However, due to unforeseen conditions, the two of them had to wait until conditions became more conducive.

“Hah .. This is troublesome, if I had the strength of Kevin-san, I might break through.” Chitose let out a long sigh while pointing at the pouting expression.

Akane flinched in shock and nearly fell down, suddenly recalling how terrifying Kevin's training method was, she creeped out in fear as she recalled those times. But, with the nature and character of Kevin who is not reluctant to act, what is said by Chitose may happen if Kevin is beside them.

“You're talking about something familiar, can I know who Kevin you mean?”

“AAAHH!”

An extremely soft voice flashed through the ears of the two of them, Akane and Chitose who were originally mediocre were startled with widened eyes. Because of the sudden incident, both of them slipped and fell from the tree branch.

But, before they touched the ground, their bodies suddenly floated for a few seconds before gently falling to the ground. Not long after, a graceful woman appeared who was wearing a bright black robe.

His face was not very visible, probably due to the effects of the equipment worn by him. But, Chitose was somehow able to feel a familiarity that was hard to explain, and again the woman was seen showing warmth to both of them.

“P-Excuse me? may I know who you are?” Chitose asked with a slightly nervous face.

The woman in the robe gasped in shock, but she immediately pointed at the thin smile on her face. “Hem .. I don't want to tell you, but you can call me, Miss Adler.”

“Nona Adler?” Chitose and Akane thought of his head while thinking hard.

“Luck it off, I just asked about who Kevin you guys mean, I really don't have any bad goals, so take it easy.” Adler raised both his hands with good intentions.

“B-So apparently, but what is the relationship between you and Kevin-san?” ask Akane to ascertain the intentions of the woman before her.

Although Kevin has an incredible amount of strength based on his memory, Akane can sense that the woman wearing this bright black robe is on the same level as Kevin, so that's why Akane should be on the lookout.

“Hem~ is secret, after all you are too young to know,” replied the woman in a seductive voice, who also explained that she wanted to keep it a secret.

Akane narrowed her eyes suspiciously. “Then, may I know kap— AW! it hurts, what are you doing Chitose?”

“Hehe~ you two are familiar too.” Adler suddenly teased the two couples in a sweet voice.

Chitose flinched before putting on a friendly smile, she lowered her head as an apology for Akane's strange treatment. “Sorry for being disrespectful, the Kevin-san we were referring to earlier was ...”

Silence swept over as Chitose wanted to open her mouth, she wanted to say something, but for some reason something was missing from her mind when she wanted to speak.

“Hem?” Adler tilted his head with a questionable expression.

“This is critical of Akane-kun, I don't know Kevin-san's full name, do you know it?” ask Chitose in a soft voice.

Akane was also speechless with a puzzled expression, and she stiffly shook her head. Despite working together for several weeks, Akane and Chitose never once knew her full name or background.

“Hah, there is no need for you to force to remember, I just want to know if the Kevin you mean is okay.” Adler shook his head with a helpless expression.

Although his face was not fully visible due to the robe he was wearing, Akane and Chitose could feel disappointment from his voice, so they felt a little guilty about the matter.

The two are unaware of Adler's relationship with Kevin. But, from the way he spoke and behaved, it must have something to do with Kevin, and they understood that this mysterious woman had a very special relationship.

“I'm sorry Miss Adler, we really only know a little about Kevin-san's condition. Last time we parted when Kevin-san wanted to get things done, and he said he wanted to take care of his old friend,” Akane said with her head bowed.

“That's right, we saw a red gate and sparks before Kevin-san disappeared, this is all we know, sorry ..” Chitose added with a face full of regret.

“Ah .. no no, you do not need to apologize so. I know her nature, so just hearing that she's okay is enough for me.” Adler immediately shook his head gently.

Hem, last place was in the Prehistoric Black Tomb, huh? but, his movement pattern had completely changed. I find it hard to guess where he goes, besides I'm quite surprised Kevin wants to give a little practice, even this guy named Akane received one of his old Personal Abilities first.

Adler stared at the faces of the two of them with a faint smile that suddenly appeared. “Then do you want to come with me to Tample of Destiny?”

“Eh? Miss Adler wants to go to the Tample of Destiny, too?” Akane responded with surprise.

“That's right, there's something very important there. I want to take it right away, and continue my steps.” Adler nodded gently.

“But .. isn't there still a Summer Land Clan and Knights of the Round Table fighting over the place?” Chitose tilted her head with a bitter expression.

Adler did not reply, he immediately stepped his foot forward without fear. “Hehe~ I've already faced off with all of them, so it doesn't matter to me to face them again, plus again .. their strength is much weaker.”

He disappeared abruptly leaving behind a silver light mark without regard for Akane and Chitose. But, the two of them suddenly felt something bad was about to happen.

“T-Wait a minute, Miss Adler said she's faced them before? don't be she—”

BOOOM!!

Having not had time to finish his words, the sound of an explosion followed by the appearance of the manifestation of a giant palm made Akane and Chitose startled, they both did not quite understand the situation being experienced. However, they did get the impression that the woman was the one who had once ravaged the two great clans all by herself.

“C-Chitose .. It looks like I'm starting to guess what kind of relationship Miss Adler has with Kevin-san.” Akane began to feel a bad feeling as the impact of the battle expanded.

“No need for you to say Akane-kun, let's run fast from this place, or we will be dragged in the impact of their fight!” Chitose pulled Akane who was still dumbfounded by this situation.

Absolutely terrible, whether it was Kevin-san's wife or brother or even his friend, I don't care anymore! I better escape immediately from where he fought, because ..he is as barbaric as Kevin-san!
