Dennis woke up from his sleep, the radiance of sunlight through the glass managed to make him realize from his long sleep. He saw the clock working on the desk, it was already 10. The dense lecture and a troubled mind kept him awake until the morning, so that he could just close his eyes once the prayer of Shubuh reverberated.
Then Dennis opened his phone, saw there was an incoming message from the dera received 20 minutes ago.
"I'm almost at my grandmother's hometown. Soon the phone network will disappear and we will not be able to communicate anymore. Even so you still go to college. My prayers will always be with you. I love u Dennis my first love was a handsome paliiinng" said a short message from Dera.
Dennis was pensive after reading the short message. He then called Dera, ah sure enough his phone was off. Dennis tried to remember what happened yesterday. He still could not believe that Dera had moved away from him. He tried to sleep, hoping that when he woke up it would return to its original state and all that happened was a dream. But a short message from Dera had made him realize that everything was reality. And that's the harsh reality that Dennis had to experience.
Dennis got up from his bed and walked towards the kitchen. His throat was dry, he had to drink water immediately. Finished drinking water, Dennis accidentally looked into the living room. It was the first time in the room that Dera sat and joked with Dennis. It was a space that bore silent witness to the love of the two of them. I don't think Dennis' tears are melting. This reality is too difficult for him. It's too hard to assume that all of this is just a dream. It was too hard to forget all the memories they had shared. It's too hard to go through life without Dera.
Slowly Dennis wiped away his tears. He heard footsteps approaching.
"Whether you're standing there Den" Turns out it's papa Dennis.
"Not with pa. I'm just thinking about it" replied Dennis as he headed to the dinner table accompanying his father to eat bread.
"Think what? A lecture?"
"Yes that's pa"
"Not to be too thoughtful. Just walk. Allow time to give answers. The important thing is that you try to give your best" Papa said.
"How's Dera doing? Have you met her?" Connect him.
"It's pa"
"Continue?"
"He wanted to go home to accompany his grandmother in the village" Dennis explained. Papa Dennis nodded.
"So that's what made you stand there?" ask papa. Dennis could only remain silent while looking down.
To eliminate the shock in his heart, Dennis went for a walk in his family's Department Store. He's gonna meet up with his friends in an hour. But because Dennis was home so he decided to leave early.
Without direction and purpose he took a walk through the mall. Mind floated. Unknowingly he hit one of the visitors.
"Sorry sir" Dennis said as he helped pick up the fallen visitor's belongings.
"No papa son, the father who was not careful" The visitor then looked at Dennis. "Loh, you're not the one who drives Dera often?" Ask.
"Yes sir. Mr housing security officer huh?"
"Yes. You remember me yes"
"That's sir. You alone?". Ask Dennis.
"My same wife. It was again shopping" he said as he pointed at a woman who was busy picking clothes. "Mbak Dera didn't come?"
"No sir. He's back home"
"Ooh, maybe yesterday it was his brother who picked up Dera."
"I mean father?" Ask Dennis astonished.
"Yesterday there were mothers riding in luxury cars brown color came to the housing and asked her home where mbak Dera. The car is so fancy. Continue to say Mbak Dera returned home right, so you think the possibility of yesterday's tantenya who picked up"
"Those mothers don't remember their faces?"
"That must be pretty. He's about 50. Her hair is short"
"Brown luxury car, short curly hair. It's not wrong that it's my mom" Dennis thought. So why did you go to see Dera?
