Meena immediately snorted in annoyance. Looking at her mother-in-law.
"I, who wrestled all day in the kitchen, prepared food for you and ate with you.. But you actually spent all this food without remembering who has prepared all this.'' said Meena immediately opened her voice with protest.
"And left only this stir-fry vegetable.. While you guys are done eating, without waiting for me to eat together.'' said Meena again still protesting at them.
"Isn't there any vegetable you can eat.. Entertaining guests came, already should have finished all this food.. And you should be grateful, the color of your cooking was accepted by my family.'' said Siska who offered the cuisine to Meena.
Meena again snorted while turning her face away from her mother-in-law.
"And don't make a fuss over your protest.. You are like a man who has no ethics and is not educated.'' said his mother-in-law again warned Meena.
Sontak made Meena look at her mother-in-law with annoyance.
''Ethics and education?" meena asked back at Siska's mother-in-law's words.
Siska only looked at Meena seriously.
''Making others comfortable is education, showing empathy is also education, waiting for people to finish cooking new meals..Don't you think it's education?" ask Meena.
"Will you wait how long?? You don't see, you're serving so many families.. There's no way we're just waiting for you to finish cooking.. What time do you have to wait for you to finish cooking??" siska asked trying to defend herself.
"okay.. Suppose I didn't ask you to wait for me..But aren't you guys thinking of setting it aside for me??Not leaving, but setting aside..Take it and leave it on the other side of the food.'' said Meena who tried to restrain her emotions with her protest.
"Payuh.. Why do you have to protest like that.. This is just food .'' sahut from one of her mother-in-law's brothers.
Meena immediately glanced sharply.
"Do you think this is just a food problem??" meena asked with a sharp look towards her mother-in-law.
"But it is only one of the other masses..''
"Since I got married, I've been trying to be a good wife and a good daughter-in-law to your son and you.. Every day wake up in the morning doing all the housework alone all day, without being helped by you who is exactly like the host who always arranges me.. And I have always been patient to face a mother-in-law like you.''
''And sometimes it occurs to me, why should I feel this tired race alone??I'm not a maid in this house, nor am I paid, how long do I have??"
"Meena.. Don't talk like that, though,. Being a wife doesn't it have to be like that??Which family daughter-in-law did not do the same??You should have just accepted, said aunt Yudha who interjected.
Meena turned to Yudha's aunt.
"Sorry bi, am I talking to you??Did your words show me respect??" meena asked insinuating the aunt.
Even the aunt was silent.
"Mom.. How many times have I told you, in this house I am the host, not as a tool that you can use when you need.. I am also not a maid in this house.'' Meena said firmly.
Siska the mother-in-law chose silence and turned her face away from Meena's sight.
"Good..Enough already.'' said Meena while releasing the apron she still wears and throw it on the floor.
"Who wants to do all this.. Please enjoy your own show..!!!" meena said she just left her mother-in-law and her family.
Siska can't do anything about it, as Meena has already left the house.
