Agreement With My Two Friends

Agreement With My Two Friends
Episode 2

A beautiful small town, crammed with hills and orange-colored sky as if adding to the beauty of Tomohon city, one of the cities in the north sulawesi province.

Step by step through Edo, Devi and Hengkie. Their tiredness was treated with interesting scenery on every side of the city.Edo although born in this city, he was never satisfied to enjoy the beauty of his birthplace.

"Edo, after graduation are you still here?" ask Devi.

"Hmmm, it looks like I'm going to go to university in the capital" Edo replied.

"Jakarta maksutmu!?" Devi tried to guess with an astonished face.

"Yes, but I still have my doubts" replied Edo holding his chin.

"You have to go to college there, I hear Jakarta is very extraordinary, there are so many places you can go there" said Devi.

"Yaps..it's a good idea to go to college there, the real man must be helped away from the parents" Hengkie continued with a serious face and clenched his right hand.

"You know what a Gorilla is? Edo has been away from his parents for a long time" Devi grumbled.

"..."

"I ask you if you go to college in Jakarta later, multiply friends, choose good friends, do not eat late" said Devi with a slightly anxious face.

"Hey hey. I still haven't left, I'm still here" Edo said as he waved his canoe in front of Devi.

The two friends looked glum, and for this time Edo was unable to say anything, Edo did not know how to comfort them at that time. He turned his head to the sky and closed his eyes, "must be like this" he said in his heart.

Their steps stopped in a city park, in the three years since they met, they always visited the park, the park that was beside a beautiful lake. Just taking a break, joking around together and sharing stories after school, is part of their daily stay in the park.

"You will miss this place Edo" Devi said as she sat on a swing.

"Hey you, quickly push me...!!" he continued while telling Hengkie to push his swing.

"Of course I'm going to miss this place, just one day not being here can drive me crazy" Edo replied.

"Edo, has your father come home from America?" tanya Hengkie followed by her hand which pushed Devi's shoulder.

"Not yet Kie, maybe when I graduate my father will still be there" replied Edo.

"Your father is busy" Hengkie commented.

"That's how it is, but I'm lucky you guys often accompany me" replied Edo who sat on a large rock next to a swing occupied by Devi.

Their conversation continued, the three of them were comfortable with the environment, the atmosphere and what they were talking about, their loose smiles and laughs revealed a real familiarity, occasionally Hengkie tried Devi by pushing Devi's shoulder so hard that the swing was lifted so high that Devi shouted very loudly.

For Edo who was not so far away from the garden, it was an advantage, in his mind Hengkie and Devi were like personal bodyguards who drove him home every day.

Minimalist house stands firmly in an alley on the edge of the city, it is the Edo house, the sound of the clock bells on the walls of the Edo house is heard outside the house, the sound of the bell signifies the time at that time at 18:00 WITA, and it is a sign that their togetherness today has run out.

Their steps stopped in front of Edo's house, and,

"Thank you for driving me" said Edo, looking at his two best friends.

"Not every day is like this, why are you so formal?" ask Hengkie.

"Forget it, fine until we meet tomorrow" he said with a hand that had gripped the black fence.

"OK, see you tomorrow" said Devi, raising her right hand slightly.

The two friends were still looking at Edo, they did not want to move from where they stood if Edo still did not enter the yard of his house.

After Edo enters the house, his two friends continue on their way back, but Edo's steps are stopped, he counts one to five and as usual, he immediately turns to look at his two friends.

From the front of the fence Edo looked towards the path his two friends went through, seen from his face a deep sadness, sadness that had been in his possession, no tears, no tears, no sound came out of his mouth and there was nothing he could do until he went back inside his house.

A beautiful house but so quiet, all the equipment from Wi-Fi, Gym equipment, video games and so forth are sufficient for Edo, but the warmth of parents has long been not felt. The house he lived in was so quiet, even the sound of a wall clock ticking in the living room, Edo could hear from the kitchen.

The atmosphere of the house that has been commonly felt by Edo, has not counted how long Edo lived alone in the house, sometimes he hopes his father suddenly came home and knocked on the door, he said, sometimes he also hopes his father is resting in the main room, with the occasional opening of his father's room, hoping that his father has come home and is resting.

Every day there is a meal in the kitchen, it is the cuisine that aunty brought to Edo. Not why, aunt Edo has a restaurant that is quite crowded by customers in the middle of the city and has been used to bring food for him, be it just breakfast or dinner.

That night the air was very cold, well.Tomohon city was a pretty cold city, but this time the cold seemed to enter the bone marrow. The cold was quite disturbing Edo who was studying that night.

"Oh... How can I concentrate on learning? is today enough to get here?" muttered Edo while stopping his hand that was holding the stationery.

From the window of Edo's room on the second floor, he looked out the window, the lights were twinkling and the tall trees decorated with colorful lights used Christmas celebration decorate every corner of Tomohon city.

"Why is this heart so heavy leaving this city?" he murmured inwardly as he closed the window curtain of his room.

The time showed at 21:00, there was nothing Edo did but lie on the bed, his phone just lying on the study table.

For today's children, social media is a very useful tool to repel saturation, but in contrast to Edo, having an account of Facebook or Instagram alone he does not have.

A few shelves in a medium-sized room made his room look cramped, the shelves were filled with so many books, be it a novel or a textbook, those were Edo's belongings that could accompany him.

The clock shows 22.00 WITA, the hour when Edo had to rest, his hands trembling to take a bottle containing so many drugs of his own. Hours like this are hours where the body is so weak, what he experienced has lasted almost three years.
