A Match For Brother

A Match For Brother
The Vows of Vania

Vania smiled broadly as she welcomed the arrival of some familiar people. His best friend's family that day deliberately gathered at his shop to spend Saturday afternoon together.

"You guys coming?" sapana.

"It's all relaxing again." Alena immediately sat down in the chair, then grabbed Alea from Hardi's arms.

"So Anna hasn't come home yet?"

"Still in Lombok."

"Well, ... Long time too?"

"There's time, it must be busy again."

"Oh yeah? straight to work again?"

"Yes, that's it."

"Not stopped?"

"Before having children still work." replied Alena.

"Oh, ..." Vania nodded her head. "Dilan?" he asked when he could not find the handsome toddler with his parents.

"Just like Bang Arya, it might be coming soon." jasab Hardi.

"Aryan Lady?" his body stiffened a little.

"Hm ..." Alena nodded.

"Tumbens?"

"He who stepped out, happened to relax again he said."

"Oh, ..."

Then the two people in question appeared a while later. Dilan got down from Aryan's lap, then ran towards Vania.

"Ateu ..." said he, who poured into his arms, and Vania greeted him cheerfully.

"Kangen ih, .. has just met again a week." she hugged and kissed the three-year-old toddler warmly.

Then his attention turned to the man who walked up to him. Arya who looks relaxed, with an open black shirt lining a white T-shirt in it. Wearing long black jeans wrapped around her legs. Her hair was combed as neatly as usual, tended to be disheveled, and made her look different that day.

"Did you?" he said to the man who had not met this one week because of his busyness.

"Hi, how are you?" arya said at a glance, then immediately sat down on the empty seat next to Alena, without saying anything else.

Vania frowned, it was not usual for the man to behave like that to her.

"You want to eat?" his question, with a sense of wonder that began to rule the mind.

"Orange juice first, papa want what?" alena said, who then turned to her husband.

"Just like, .. add spaghetti." replied Hardi, who did not take his eyes off his phone.

"Mm ... brother?" Vania then asked Arya, with a pounding heart of course. He was afraid that the man would overdo it because they did not meet after the last conversation at Anna's wedding one week ago.

"Coffee." replied Arya, briefly. Also without distracting from his phone.

"Have coffee?" he asked again.

"Hm ..." Arya replied with a mutter, leaving Vania stunned.

"Without sugar?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Ng ... What do you want?" he regained his senses when the toddler in his arms patted his face several times.

"Akelim, .. same as I pass."

"Mm ... The ice cream will be yes, now we pass first." he bargained.

"Hu'um." Dilan nodded his head.

"Okay, wait a minute." she sat the toddler in the empty seat beside Arya, stealing a glance at the man who seemed to ignore her. Wish he glanced at her, but nil.

"Do you really not want to eat? I made it." Vania returns with a tray containing Hardi and her son's two favorite bolognese spaghetti posts, as well as a cup of Aryan-order black unsweetened coffee.

"No first. I'm not good enough to eat anymore." refused Alena who immediately sip orange juice order.

"Why? it hurt?"

"No. It's just my stomach doesn't feel good anymore."

"Hmm .. okay then." he was silent waiting, but the person in question did not react. Arya was just engrossed in sipping her coffee, while staying focused on her phone.

"Will you eat now?" finally Vania asked.

"No." replied the man again, without another word.

Vania looked at him in silence.

Why this guy? he scratched his un-itchy head.

"I ...

"If you're busy, that's okay. Don't need to bring us. More buyers, right at this hour?" Alena said, glancing behind her best friend's body. They arrived at rush hour that afternoon.

"Mm .. yes. Okay. I'll be there first, I'll be back, okay?" said Vania who then went to serve the buyer.

"How can you not come down a little bit?" Alena reacted, when she saw her older brother who had returned as indifferent as ever.

"What?" Arya looked up, turning her attention momentarily away from the phone screen after steadying the promise for a meeting with the client.

"Can you, if you are invited to talk it simple first hapenya?" Alena.

"It's important Al, brother gets a meeting from Cindy" he showed her the phone screen.

"Yes put a little cake?"

"It doesn't matter what you are." murmured Arya, then sipped her black coffee which started to cool.

"Abang ish, .." lamented, when the brother pretended not to care about him anymore.

Ever since Anna's wedding reception last week, she has been thrilled that her older brother seems to be opening up, especially to Vania when she sees them having a conversation with him. And today he intends to get the two of them back together to get closer. But the truth is disappointing.

"Go first, there's an appointment." Arya bagkit from her seat after finishing her coffee.

"Did you?"

***

"Don't you see that just now?" Alena to her husband.

"What?"

"Any brother's attitude is lag?"

"That's how? isn't your brother that way from the past, what's weird?" Hardi focused on food, while occasionally feeding her son who ate the same food as her.

"Yesterday it was not you know, just as Vania already looks familiar."

"Times?"

"Hmm .. It's rare to fight."

"That's exactly what's weird. Usually fights get along suddenly."

"Huuh, .. when I want to make them deket." Alena mutters.

"Huh?" Hardi.

"I want their match ah, ..." Alena chuckled while covering her mouth with her hands.

"What did you say?" Hardi assures hearing.

"Is it good for my idea? who knows they're a match?it's a smile." said Alena.

"You want Vania's match with Bang Arya?" the man asked.

Alena nodded her head with a smile.

"Are you really?"

"Sister mean?"

"You want Bang Arya's match with Vania?" Hardi repeated his words.

"Yes. Wrong huh?"

"You don't think about their age to what extent? Vania's like her sister, she's your age?"

"Where does the problem go?"

"Geez!"

"Why the hell?"

"The difference in their age is too far Al, the time you could want to mate your own friend with a much older brother?" Hardi.

"Wouldn't you say that Bang Arya doesn't get Vania?" Alena with her mind.

"I mean brother I don't pantes that same as Vania?"

"Bu-it's not Al, ..." Hardi stuttered.

"Obviously you said that?"

"No ish, .. means ..."

"Lho, where's Bang Arya? going?" Vania suddenly appears.

"There's a promise he said." Alena distracts.

"Promise?" his best friend was looking.

"Hu'um, there was a meeting scheduled from his assistant." Alena nodded.

"Schedule meeting?" Vania.

Alena nodded again.

"Saturday gini?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Vania fell silent.

The girl plays her phone on the bed. Look forward to messages from people who have never sent a message at all since they were in a relationship. He turned on the flat object, then looked at it for a long time, hoping for a message to come in from Arya's number.

"Neverything cool? she said she was dating, but never a phone let alone send a message? what kind of a date is this?" he muttered.

"What is the style of courtship of children in the past? Dih, .. ngebosenin!" he grumbles.

"Eh, .. was he angry huh, after the chat that time? but it seems normal, it's okay, but why hasn't there been any news this week?" he speaks to himself.

"Ish, .. frustrating!" she rattled her own hair.

His attention was distracted when the door of his room was knocked from the outside.

"Yes?" Vania half yelled.

"May I come in?" the door opened slightly, and Melly peeked out of the room.

"Come on" she said, and then the mother came in.

Melly sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her daughter's face.

"How was it today?" she asked.

"Obviously mom."

"Is there a problem?"

"No, everything's good. In addition to customers who are satisfied because the food is late delivered."

"Masa? that's normal, right?" Melly tekeh's. "Later you'll find a customer stranger than that."

"Yes abu. I think I should get another officer. Love the meter if it's a rame."

"Mm .. just add it."

"But fear of not being able to pay." Vania chuckles. "So I had to do a lot of work."

Melly looked at her daughter with a haru and proud feeling. How not, the girl actually grew independent and resilient. Since adolescence she has been trained to do a lot of work, following in her footsteps with her husband in running a restaurant business that was originally small, until now developed quite rapidly. Vania helps whatever she can help, and learns a lot. How to cook food, how to make snacks, process ingredients into a good cake. So, no wonder if the girl often creates new food that she processed with her own hands.

Especially after Indra, the husband died of illness, the daughter worked so hard, she grew increasingly resilient and unshakable about anything. Vania has her own thoughts.

Melly, felt doubt in her heart about what she was going to say to her daughter. Will the girl obey, or even argue?

But it's about promise. The promise of the husband that must be fulfilled when the time comes. And he found that the time had come.

"Can we talk seriously now?" Melly started the conversation.

"What do you want to say?"

"Related .. your father."

"What mom?"

"As you've heard before my father died, he has a promise to his best friend, and you also promise to live that promise as your father said."

Vania held her breath, it turned out that the time had come.

"Mom met him, and he talked about it too. Do you remember?" said Melly.

🍁 Flashback on 🍁

The breath of the senses was hard on the end, yet the man still had not given up, and he was looking forward to the arrival of his daughter.

Vania is a teenager who was picked up from school when her father was dying after undergoing painful chemotherapy due to cancer she had been suffering from for several years.

But every effort is fruitless, and the man must submit to fate, that he cannot outlast this.

"Dad?" Vania approached, she grabbed her father's hand, then tightly gripped him.

"Father's son .." the man in a raucous voice. He clasped his son's hand, with an increasingly intermittent breath.

"Dad ... couldn't last much longer, baby." she said.

"Dad will be healed, dad will be home from the hospital, and we will be together again. Working in a cafe, making food, teaching me how to make pastry, ..." Vania with sobbing.

Indra shook her head.

"After this you have to go on, help your mother do a lot of things, run a cafe and make things better."

"Yes, same dad." the girl wiped the corner of her wet eyes.

"It can't be."

Vania shakes.

"You have to promise, I'll help your mother ...

"I promise you, if you're cured."

Indra was silent for a moment.

"If one day, a father's friend comes and proposes to you, then accept the proposal for his son. Because the father has promised him, if until adulthood his son does not find his soul mate, then he must marry him to you."

Vania was silent, she was digesting the words of her father.

"He .. who pulls us out of adversity when nobody cares. Just him, baby."

"Dad, ...

"promise Son. You must keep my promise to him."

Vania again sobbed when she saw the man getting worse every second.

"I want you, I don't want anything else!" he started to criticize.

"Do you love dad?" his breath almost disappeared in his throat.

Vania nodded her head.

"So promise me you'll keep. Promise me, son."

Vania can think of nothing else but fearing losing her father, she can't imagine if that really happened.

"I promise, I promise. I'm going to marry that guy, come on dad ...

And stop breathing Indra in a matter of seconds. He was tightly closed at the end of his struggle, in the arms of the princess who was then hysterical for a while.

🍁 Flashback Off 🍁

Vania was stunned, her lips locked tightly, and she didn't know what to say, as it turned out that her estimation missed.

After waiting a few years, and the man in question never came. So he held back his own feelings when he felt in love with the opposite sex for the first time, because he remembered the promise to the father.

But now, when he had given up, and decided to continue living in his own way, and receiving the year-long coveted love when the man who made her fall in love for the first time came to her and expressed feelings, then it happened too.

"Do I have to do it?" Vania.

"Mom hopes we can keep that promise, because if you don't, then your father and his best friend will feel disappointed" Melly replied.

"What if I ... already have a lover?"

"Then ... relinquish your relationship with him, because there is a promise that you must keep for the sake of your late father."

Vania breathed out quickly.

"But ma'am ...

"Sorry dear, .. please. For your father's sake." Melly rubbed her daughter's shoulders.
