A Letter to My Mom

A Letter to My Mom
Chapter 6: A new spirit, a new hope

CHAPTER 6

Ayudia paced in front of the house. His eyes continued to look left and right, looking for the figure of the girl who had left since this morning after fighting with him. Her stomach was already rumbling, but no one was cooking for her.

"Ma! Hungry typhoon," ketus Typhoon while rubbing the stomach. Parasitic worms have been protesting since noon, asking for food rations from the teenager's body.

"Mama's hungry too, but who wants to cook? You?" Ayudia rose in blood. He has not struggled with kitchen equipment for a long time. In fact, he had never touched the work at his home.

"Yes, Mama, Iah! The typhoon could faint if it waited for Mili to come home" the teenager protested.

"Just kid! Mama was tired," Ayudia refused as she walked away irritatedly.

Not long after, the girl arrived in front of the weathered bamboo gate. He took a deep breath. He stood looking at his house for a while, as if he would never see it again.

*So morning, on the bridge.

Grep's!

"Stop, Mili!"

"Take me off, Doctor. I can't stand it anymore. My presence was not expected by anyone. I don't want to live like this" Milian said, crying loudly.

Saras cried and hugged the girl who was being held by her husband. He had long heard Milian's life stories from some patients whose home was a little close to Ayudia's. As a child, people did not know what the situation inside the house was like.

However, after the girl became a teenager, her friends told her to their mother. Not knowing on what basis, Ayudia treated Milian like a stepson? They were very curious, but the girl always answered alright when the surrounding mothers asked her.

"You can't lose, Mili. Your life is bitter, but you won't be happy if you end your own. Hang on, honey," persuaded Saras affectionately.

"Why? Why …?" Milian hugged Doctor Saras tightly.

The warmth was supposed to come from her mother, but she never got it. Sometimes, Milian muttered softly in his heart. Why did she have to be born from the womb of Ayudia? Why not from someone else's womb?

The doctor's persuasion succeeded in making Milian undo his intention to end his life. They took Mili to the hospital and took her home from there.

"look, right? The test results are not entirely correct. It's only stage two and if you take good care of your health, you can be cured with some medicines and chemotherapy. We'll cover medical expenses with the family's health card." Saras wants to put the girl on his family card list.

Milian refused, because it meant he had to get off the family list. He did not want to make his mother give trouble to Doctor Saras and husband. The girl was very happy to have people who loved her sincerely like the two of them.

"Thank you, Doctor. Mili will take good care of your health, but .. Mili cannot accept your sincere intentions. Mili apologized," said the girl as she wiped the remaining tears that were still wetting her cheeks.

"Mili promise. For the sake of the Doctor who is always good to Mili," he said before leaving the clinic as well as the official house of Doctor Saras.*

"Huh …. In the end, I'm back." Milian sighed heavily. It was as if a huge stone was squeezing his chest, making him feel tight as he took a breath.

Can you guess what happened after he came back? Yeah, correct. Ayudia scolded him, punishing him with a classic punishment that has not changed since Mili was a child. Although all the food was cooked by Milian, but he himself could not taste the cuisine.

"Tonight, you can't eat!"

"Yes, Ma," he answered listlessly.

He went into the room and lay on his back in the middle of the old bed. In other rooms, the bed and mattress are very comfortable. Only Milian's room is not worth mentioning. More suitable if called warehouse.

'Doctor Saras just wanted to cheer me up. Obviously, I heard that my life might not be long. What if I leave them later? Will they cry for me?'

The girl changed her sleeping position to tilt to the right. From the window of the small room, he could see the faint moonlight. The longer, the black clouds cover the moonlight, and the rain falls rapidly.

At midnight, among the snoring of the other room dwellers, Milian chose some clothes that were still worth wearing. He put the clothes into a shabby bag of his former school sisters. All unused items must have been kept to Milian's room by Ayudia.

In the middle of the night, in the rain, Milian decided to leave the house. Armed with the money that Doctor Saras gave him, he walks away from the village filled with painful memories.

Milian wanted to enjoy the rest of his life with happiness. He wants to be free to enjoy life before death to pick him up later. A piece of paper bearing the address of a person's home becomes a clue to the direction for him.

He boarded a public vehicle that could take him to the address. However, Milian did not know that the distance was very far. The bus had to cross the ocean and move across from Java.

The girl never traveled far, so she was drunk on sea and land trips. His face was pale, his stomach hurt. Fortunately, he brought pain medication from the hospital. After drinking it, he felt better.

Another problem came to the girl. The bus he was riding could not reach until the destination address Milian. He had to change public transportation when he got off the port.

'My money is over. I should how? If you want to get in the car again, I have to pay.'

Milian asked the person who was near the sembako shop. Because the distance is only two hours by bus, Milian decided to walk to the address he wanted to reach. If it's two hours away by bus, maybe he can take it four or five hours on foot.

However, due to his poor health, he had not even reached half the journey after spending five hours on foot. Every now and then, he stopped at a gas station. Milian rested for a while, then continued on his way back.

From morning until ten in the evening, he had just arrived in front of a house with a towering gate. He matched the address on the paper with the address of the house in front of him. After believing that it was the house he was looking for, he pressed the bell.

Ting! The keg!
