CHAPTER 5
After Verrel and his driver left, Ayudia immediately took her two sons away to a large market in the city. Milian desperately wanted to go with them, but it could never be. As usual, he had to stay at home, and take care of Desi.
"Desi will come, Ma!" The little girl was screaming hysterically.
For those who always live in distress, going to the market is something extraordinary. Same with Milian who was very curious as to what the big market in the city was like. However, Ayudiah persuaded that he would bring souvenirs from the city.
"Don't go anywhere! Watch out, if your sister's why-why!"
Ayudia threatened before leaving. The three of them walked towards the main road of the village. From there, they needed to ride the angkot for an hour, then arrive at the city market.

Milian's friends came to visit when they heard that Mili's mother and two younger brothers were not home. Desi looked at Milian with jealousy. Seeing Milian laughing and joking with his friend, Desi was eager to cry.
Since childhood, he had no friends. He felt the world was unfair to him. Desi can only stay at home, unable to enjoy the beautiful morning sun.
Occasionally, he went out to the terrace at night. However, the small village was very prone to crime. Life is hard and many people are starving, making even people with narrow minds commit crimes.
Sometimes, Desi wants to take a walk to see the village environment he lives in. Ayudia clearly forbade it, because the night in the village was very dangerous. Eventually, Desi could only look at the moon from the porch of her home.
"What?!" One of Milian's friends screamed.
Desi who was daydreaming was immediately awakened. He put an ear on the door. Listen to what they are talking about with great curiosity.
"So you're engaged?"
"Well, if you get married, we'll be lonely, dong," said another friend.
"You'll get married sooner or later. Why should I be sad?" ask Milian.
"That's different, Mili. We will marry the people we know, the people we love. But, you …." The tall girl with a height of less than 160 Cm was named Ucu. He was very emotional when Milian told me.
"Yes, Mili. Anyway, she's a real mom or a stepmom, anyway? Strange, huh," said another friend. He has a body until, semetre not until. Those were the typical words that Ucu blurted out whenever they joked. Name's Nuri. As the name suggests, she is a beautiful girl, even becoming a village flower.
Although ridiculed short, in fact Nuri is the tallest girl among them. Because those words have the opposite meaning. Ucu and Milian were very envious of Nuri. She is beautiful, although not rich, but her parents are among those who are. In addition, he was not choosy in making friends, even with poor people like Milian.
"Of course she's my real mother. You guys this …. Ah, you better go home. My mother will be home soon" said Milian, exorcising them subtly.
Milian does not want to get into trouble if his mother arrives before his friend comes home. They were not angry when Mili kicked out, because they knew the state of the girl. They were the best to Milian, when his family never thought he existed.
An hour later, her mother and two younger siblings arrived from the city carrying shopping bags. Ayudia brought two bags into Desi's room, then closed the door. His two younger brothers came in carrying two shopping bags each.
'Huh …. What was I expecting? Of course my mom would never buy me anything.'
Milian went into his room and locked himself in. The money was spent in one shopping spree. Ayudia leaves little for daily needs.
"Hm, this isn't bad."
He kept the skirt in the closet. The next morning, when she was about to wear the skirt, her skirt was gone. She took out the whole closet, but the skirt wasn't there.
"Ma! Mama!" Milian approached his mother in a hurry.
"What, anyway? You think, deaf mama, yeah!" hardik Ayudija.
"Sorry, Ma. That's not what it means. Mili asked. What, Mama, see Mili's umbrella skirt?"
"White green umbrella skirt?"
"Yes, right, Ma. Mama saw?"
"Had sold it to a flea-clother" he answered casually.
"What's? Why sell? It's Mili sewing for her own use" protested Milian. She sewed the skirt to comfort her wounded heart. No longer bought new clothes, skirts of his own works were sold by his mother.
Milian ran out feeling sad and disappointed. Her life is getting more depressed. He was no longer able to withstand all the misfortunes and bad luck.
Milian stood on the bridge. Under the wooden bridge there is a shallow river flow filled with large stones. If he jumped down there, his body was guaranteed to be destroyed.
"Hiks …. Hicks …."
The girl's shoulders went down as tears sobbed. His heart was filled with hatred. Is it wrong to hate them?
He hated the Typhoon, which always complained about what he did not do. He hated Desi, because he had to take care of her since childhood. He hated Bayu who always mocked and treated himself like a maid.
"I hate them!" Milian's screams echoed down the bridge.
Under the bridge, Saras and her husband were walking around, and took some photos. Hearing the screams of someone from above the bridge, they looked up. They looked up and saw Milian crying on the bridge.
"Millian! Hurry up, Mum! Stop her!"
Saras was very panicked to see the girl standing with her face covered with both hands. Crying sobbing with a heartbreaking voice. Desperation was heard from every scream.
Doctor Saras chased after her husband who had run up a river cliff with small stones. The uphill path was very slippery, so Saras could only tread carefully. Unlike her husband who is quite good at walking the streets.
Milian stepped forward slowly. He intends to end his life. But he was also sick. That thought was lingering in Milian's mind. It makes no difference if he dies early, right?
Every day, he endured the pain in his stomach. Act as if nothing has happened. It felt free even when he told his mother. As a child, his mother did not even care when he had a fever.
"Millian! Waitaminute! Huh …. Huh …." The doctor's husband Saras bowed, gasping for breath after running up the river cliff. He tried to stop the girl, but Milian's eyes were empty.
The girl just smiled blandly. He kept moving forward slowly. Honestly, he was very scared. What if he didn't die after jumping off that bridge? His life will not end and he will suffer even more.
