Episode 1 - The Beginning of the Struggle

Zendaya or commonly called Zee is a girl who comes from a village that has dreams as high as the sky, both in her career and her romance. He came from a family that could not afford, his father's job was only factory workers with a salary that was only enough to eat a day. Luckily Zee got a scholarship to continue his studies in the city, and Zee really hopes with his education later he can become a successful person. Giving a decent life to his parents.

In a new place, Zee is in desperate need of friends but his origins from a small town as well as his appearance impressed kampungan make Zee far away by his friend friend. 

On his campus, Zee also put his heart on one of his class mates who is famous for being smart and certainly very handsome. But again Zee's appearance as if it can not attract the attention of any man, including his idol man. Zee is still dreaming, someday a prince will come who wants to glance at her and fall in love with her.

Zee was sad and felt inferior, but Zee tried not to care about it, he still tried to focus on his lectures so that he graduated to become one of the best graduates on his campus. After graduation, he hopes to get a good job so that he can improve his family's economy.

However, four months after her graduation, Zee has yet to land a job. It turns out that reality will not always match expectations, no matter the good value of Zee but that does not guarantee he gets a job immediately.

Zee has applied to several companies but no one wants to call her for an interview.

Zee was almost frustrated, what else his mother was sick while his father was just a factory worker.

Zee desperately needs a job as soon as possible to help her family's economy.

And after waiting long enough, Zee finally got an interview call letter from one of the big enough companies and it made Zee very happy and enthusiastic. Zee prepares himself and builds his confidence, Zee knows with his abilities and he is sure he will get the job

Zee's parents who knew that their daughter was called to the interview were certainly very happy and very hopeful that Zee could improve the family economy which had always been the same.

This morning, Zee is preparing to conduct a job interview at Sky's Group. Zee once read an article about the company that was built by an ordinary woman who managed to succeed even have her own company. That was a motivation for Zee and he hopes to be like the founder of Sky's Group.

Zee wore a short-sleeved white blouse, paired with blue jeans and flat shoes. Zee tied up her ponytail-style hair, and she stood in front of the mirror nervously. Looking at her who said her friend her appearance kampungan, she is not beautiful and also not attractive.

Zee always looks simple, besides not knowing how to dress up, Zee also does not have the capital to beautify himself like his peers.

Zee noticed her face that looked still pale with a simple and thin spread of makeup. He also took a lips gloss and applied it on his lips to give the impression more fresh.

After that, Zee was prepared to leave with a prayer of blessing from the taunya people.

Zee stops his bike in front of a skyscraper. He looked up and was astonished to see the building in front of him that read Sky's Group.

"Wow." That's the only word he can say.

He entered the building after parking his motorbike, he went to the receptionist and told him the intention of his arrival. A woman then comes and asks Zee to follow her.

The woman brought Zee to join some people who will also do interviews at the company. Zee watched them nervously, they were all beautiful and very neat looking and fashionable as well. It makes Zee feel a little inferior but he still tries to maintain his confidence and convince himself of his abilities.

One by one they were called, until Zendaya's name was called. As Zee stood up and was about to enter the interview room, some people stared at him while smiling sideways. Even from some people there were whispering whispers talking about Zee's appearance.

"You applied for a job at a company this big but looked like you were going to the supermarket" Zee ignored the comment and walked into the interview room.

And there are already two men and one woman who will interview prospective employees.

Zee was invited to sit in a chair that had been provided. The two men in front of her were smiling kindly at Zee, different from the one woman sitting between the two men. The woman looked cynical at Zee, even looking at Zee like she was intimidating. Zee felt familiar with this woman, and after being remembered, he knew this woman was Sabina Mahendra. One of the models whose face is almost in every magazine.

"So, please introduce yourself" said one of the men in front of her.

Before introducing herself, Zee took a deep breath and then smiled.

The woman opened the file containing Zee's CV, as well as two other men. Interviews began to run, and Zee was always able to give a good answer. The two men seem to like Zee's confidence and intelligence what else Zee looks very calm, but different from Sabina.

"Why should we accept you working for this big company?" until the question was asked by Sabina with a slanted smile on her lips.

"I'm a confident, hard-working and enterprising person, Mom. I came from a small village, and when I had the opportunity to study in the city, I was determined to finish my 3.5-year college with high grades and I managed to reach my target. So I'm very confident, I can give my best for the company" Zee replied with confidence

"So that's your advantage?" ask Sabina.

"Yes, Mom," Zee replied.

"What do you think your shortcomings are?" sabina asked again, Zee could not answer right away. He was still thinking of the right answer, but Zee had not had time to speak, Sabina had already again said "Your lack is what we really need," Sabina said which made Zee frown confused.

"The employees we need are confident, smart and attractive are also very important points. And you don't really fit our criteria, so we can make sure you're not accepted at this company."

Zendaya was stunned, an answer she never expected in her job interview. Zendaya thought, only her college friends would make fun of her appearance but in a company as big as this, it turns out her appearance remains in trouble.

Zendaya took another breath and kept smiling even though her heart was hurting.

"I ... I can improve my appearance, Mom" Zee said but Sabina shook her head firmly.

"The exit is there, there are still many prospective employees waiting for the interview," said Sabina who immediately damaged Zendaya's feelings and self-esteem, her confidence was destroyed instantly.

A week had passed since Sabina's rejection of Zendaya so shamefully, Zee could not forget what Sabina had told her.

Zee tries to find another job but finding a job in a big city is not easy. Zee's self-confidence that he once held firmly is now just blown away.

Zee stood in front of the mirror, he took his make up that was only makeshift. Zee tried to apply the makeup to his face but Zee was not good at wearing makeup and it made him more frustrated.

Zee again thought about what he experienced during his stay in this big city, what else was his college days. Where most of her friends always underestimate her and laugh at her just because of her appearance.

"Is that pretty?" Zendaya asked at her own reflection in the mirror. He rubbed his real eyebrows, held his tiny nose, and cupped his two cheeks which was actually his facial skin was nice.

"Zee..." The mother's voice rang out with the door open "What's wrong? Not getting another job?"

"Yet, Ma. I.." Zee's eyes were glazed over with glass and his voice stuck in his throat "I don't think any company would hire me, Ma," said Zee.

"Don't despair, son. I'm sure you'll get the job you want."

Zee simply responded to Mama's words with a smile.

"Actually, Mama decided to work," said Miss Susan who of course made Zee surprised.

"What work? Mama is sick, " said Zee.

"Work as a maid, Ms. Umi yesterday looking for people to work at her boss' friend's house."

"Helper?" lirih Zee's.
