The days that Laura went through were monotonous, just spinning around and continuing to read outside of mealtime, sleeping, and into the bathroom. Laura never complained.

When one book is finished, another book will come. And so on, until Laura's reading material is never endless. The mother also occasionally looked, but said nothing. The woman continues to work in order to meet the needs of the child, so that they are not underestimated because they do not have a father and husband figure in their lives.

In his room, Pipit who is still awake, massaging his shoulders slowly which is quite stiff because he is too long down. The woman sighed looking at the pile of documents she had brought home to complete. "I'm sorry mama .. mama knows that you're tired and tired of everything you say, but you have no choice but to behave as hard as you've always done. Mama doesn't want you to live a life like your mama, Laura ..," murmured Pipit sighing tiredly, the woman closed her eyes as she looked up at the ceiling of the room. He also wanted to laugh with his son, but he couldn't. Pipit did not want Laura to grow up to be a spoiled girl, so she had to behave hard and disciplined in order for her daughter to become a docile girl.

"If you're an adult, you can blame your mom for all the hardships you've been through, Laura," Pipit whispered softly, hoping the wind brings his whisper to his daughter even though it is only through dreams.

Pipit got up from his seat, he downed as much cold drinking water as he could. After that, he put his body on the bed. "Ahh, it seems like I'm too tired to be comfortable talking to myself like this," said the woman who had just groaned. Either tired or for one other reason, shortly afterwards Pipit had fallen into a deep sleep. The woman frowned in her sleep, as if she had a nightmare she was accustomed to once she started falling asleep.

Actually, Pipit really loves his only daughter, Laura. However, due to circumstances he had to educate harder so that the girl did not grow up to be a bad boy.

Not to mention his friends who have a hobby of matching him with some of their acquaintances. Although the intention was good, but Pipit had no desire to start over with others. Tell him he's stupid or whatever it is, he doesn't care what stamp he's given himself. He just wanted to live alone with his son, he didn't need a man who might betray them again after they gave him all the trust they had in him.

There is nothing wrong with living alone with the child forever, Pipit also does not need a man who can act the same as her ex-husband before.

Early morning quickly, the sound of birds chirping enlivened the morning is being sprayed with a small drizzle. Nature is sharing her mercy and soaking the arid earth. Pipit opened his eyes, then the woman got up and began to prepare. A pile of work is waiting to be completed by him today.

"Morning, ma," said Laura as soon as she saw her mother come down and join the dinner table.

"Again" replied the woman briefly.

"What do you want for breakfast this time, ma'am?" ask one of the servants who is currently in charge of serving both.

"Give me the usual," said Pipit quickly.

"Well, madam," the servant replied obediently.

Pipit glanced briefly at her son, the woman smiled faintly even if only for a moment when she saw her son eating well. He quite liked a moment like this, let him just immortalize it with his eyes and keep it deep in his heart. Pipit was satisfied enough to see his son could eat well and voraciously, whatever his son wanted to eat, he could give it his all. That's why he worked so hard all this time.

"Maybe you'll be late today, Laura," Pipit said without looking at her son. "If you have time, your mother will pick you up. But if not, mama will send a driver," continued Pipit.

Laura stopped her mouthful, she again put the spoon she held on the plate. The girl nodded once. "Yes, ma," he said obediently without expression.

Laura shifted her chair, attaching the bag she had deliberately placed on the next chair to her shoulder. "Laura is ready, ma," said the girl.

The mother glanced at the food that was still left on her son's plate. "Are you full?" asked the woman without showing her worries, but she was very worried if her child was hungry when the lesson began.

"Yes!" reply Laura short.

"Bring some bread, huh?" tanya Pipit sounded like an order in Laura's ear.

Laura did not reply, she just nodded slowly. What his mother said, that's what he had to do. There was not the slightest intention of Laura to refuse. All her mother's words were a must for the girl. It's what's embedded in Laura's cerebellum and she believes it to be so.

After receiving supplies made impromptu by the waiter, Laura followed the mother who had gone to the car earlier. The girl sat quietly, without opening her mouth. Laura kept quiet until she got to school.

"Laura go first, ma," said the girl as she was about to get out of the car.

Pipit nodded briefly. "Don't be naughty and don't forget to eat the bread that was brought earlier" said the mother reminded. It was Laura's turn to nod now. The girl walked into the school gate and disappeared after quite a distance. Pipit returned to running his car after his eyes could no longer catch the figure of his son walking among the crowd of his peers. "Hopefully have a good day, son!" the woman muttered, hoping that what she said came true.

In class, no one came close to Laura. Laura is very happy to study in her class. "Borth, Laura. How are you?" a cheerful greeting from a classmate whom Laura forgot that she had a friend like this.

"Morning! Alright!" reply Laura short.

"See that?" chirps Windy suddenly from behind Zahrah. "Udah I said no need to say, Rah!" touch the girl again.

"Know, nih. Si Zahrah, diligent very much nyapa!" timpal Rani added. "There are friends that can be called, there are also people who should not be called, Rah!" said the girl while glancing at Laura who looked unconcerned at the ramblings of the two.

"What are you two talking about, anyway?" zahrah felt bad for Laura. "All those friends should be accosted, you know!" said the girl. "Well, Laura?" Zahrah looked at Laura with a smile.

Laura was about to open her mouth, answering as her heart wished. But no, the girl closed her mouth again and bowed. "Clearly," he said briefly then again immersed himself into the reading he had read since.

Both of Zahrah's friends were very upset, they dragged Zahrah away from there. Even the two of them told Zahrah not to bother greeting the loner girl who was crazy to learn. Zahrah kept staring at Laura, she just wanted to be friends and play together. He alone saw Laura continue to learn to feel tired, what else Laura who continues to do so all this time. It must have been more than the tired word the girl felt.
