Proposing

One night Sean's father was sitting in the living room reading a newspaper. Sean and his mother set the dinner table after dinner.

The sound of knocking on the door sounded very loud, making Sean's father aghast, he stood up and immediately opened the door of his house.

So surprised Sean's father when he saw the figure of a young man accompanied by two middle-aged people standing at his door.

"Son, what's going on?" Sean's father was wondering

They are Evan and his parents.

"I'm with both of my parents Om" Evan introduces

"Eh yes.. Ja. Come on please come in. Sir, ma'am please" Sean's father let the three of them sit in the living room.

"What is this, son. Why did you bring your parents here without telling you? Or did Sean not tell us?" Sean's father was still wondering.

"Look Om, I didn't tell Sean about this" Evan lowered his head

"I'm sorry Sir, I'm Mr. Barata. Father Evan. This is my wife, Miss Nita. We have a little need with you and Sean. Sorry if it's sudden" Evan's father explained.

"It's okay sir. I'm Mr. Rianto, Sean's father. For a moment I call Sean first" Mr. Rianto went to the kitchen to call Sean and his wife.

In the kitchen Mr. Rianto asked Sean various questions

"Sean, what does this mean? Evan came with his parents. They were sitting in the living room. Did you make a mistake? Or, what really happened between you?" Sean's father investigated

"What's? Evan's? Old folks? Sean doesn't know well, Sean doesn't have any fault with them. Sean's really not hiding anything." Obviously Sean

"All right, let's get out! Ma'am, please prepare drinks and snacks for our guest" Ask Mr. Rianto to his wife

Sean and his father immediately went out of the kitchen to the living room. With his clothes as they were yet polite Sean hesitated a little to meet them all. His heart was pounding, wanting to know what they meant coming through the night. He can't wait to see his girlfriend who he's been missing for days.

With a bowed face, Sean followed in his father's footsteps. Upon arrival in the living room, Sean shook hands with Mr. Barata and Ms. Nita.

"Good night" said Sean briefly.

Because it was the first time Sean met face to face with Evan's parents. Previously he only knew from the family portrait that Evan showed him some time ago before Evan disappeared.

"Good Night Sean, Evan has told me a lot about you and your relationship" Mr. Barata developed his smile.

Sean smiled and was embarrassed.

"So, can I know your purpose here?" Ask Sean's dad impatiently.

"So sir, we heard that Sean and Evan have been in a relationship for almost three years" Evan's father paused.

"Certainly Sean? I don't know about this." Sean's father was surprised

"Sorry Dad, Sean never told me" Sean still hides his face.

"Want to?" Ask Sean's father to Mr. Barata

"We don't want anything unwanted to happen, so our goal here is to propose to your daughter." Mr. Barata explained his point.

Sean and his father were very surprised by Evan's father's statement. Totally out of mind.

Suddenly Sean's mother came with a tray full of drinks and snacks, she put one by one without exception, then sat down next to Sean.

"Please sir, Ma'am drink first, Evan let's drink also his tea" Ms. Mira invited.

After they drank the tea. Sean's father continued

"Mom, meet this Mr. Barata and Ms. Mira Evan's parents. He's here to propose to Sean" Mr. Rianto spoke still with his expression of disbelief.

Both of Evan's parents smiled and nodded their heads.

"Oh so, greetings, sir, ma'am. I'm Mira Sean's mother" Ms. Mira held back her surprise with a little talk.

"How about Sir, Ma'am. Is our application accepted?" Ask Evan's Dad.

"Actually we have no right to decide. It's just that the two of them are still very young sir." Answer Mr. Rianto

"Age can be young, sir. But we think they are both very mature in facing problems together. Every time Evan encounters problems at work, Sean always helps him until he is completely finished. I'm so grateful to you Sean." Said Evan's Dad.

"Is it not enough that during these three years your child survives to guard himself from a starving Lion?" Syndir Pak Barata with a glance at Evan.

Sean flinched and almost choked on his saliva with the words of Mr. Barata. But Sean held him back, trying not to stand out in the meeting. Then he drowned his face again.

"Sorry Om, my intention is to marry Sean. Age is not an obstacle for me to ask Sean. I will promise with my body and soul to take care of him. Let me marry Sean" Evan spoke firmly and densely.

Sean flinched back, this time unable to resist choking on him.

"Ohuk!" Sean coughed

"Let's drink first!" His mother gave him a glass of tea.

Everyone was still silent waiting for Sean to finish his drink.

"Oh my God, what the hell is this? I'm so embarrassed." Sean is in the heart.

After Sean put the glass down, it wasn't long before Evan's father asked,

"How, Sir?"

"All right then. I've run out of reasons to answer all of this. Let Sean decide, sir." Said Sean's Dad.

Father and Mother Evan smiled and threw eyes at each other.

"How's Sean, did you accept Evan's proposal and his family?" Ask Mr. Rianto.

Sean was still surprised by all this. He closed his eyes and made himself calm. One by one the people around him were looked at carefully. As if wondering what answer he should give. Because something like this had never occurred to her mind at all.

Then he looked at Evan's face. Evan seemed very sure of what he said. That earnestness was emanating in his eyes.

"That eye.... The eyes I miss!" sean murmured in the heart.

Evan looked at Sean. Eyes that seem to be hoping for a word, yes!

Sean's heart is starting to go numb, his breathing is unstable.

Suddenly Sean's mouth said something he didn't realize out of his deepest heart.

"Yes"

A word that shocked both of his parents.

But both of Evan's parents can already guess the answer from Sean. They're sure Sean will accept their proposal.

"Are you sure about Sean? This year you're 20" Sean's mother sharpened her temper, for whatever reason a mother wouldn't let go of her child at a very young age.

Sean nodded and answered his mother's question,

"I'm sure Mom. Evan promised to take good care of me. I could charge Evan if I wasn't okay" Sean smiled steadily, then he looked at his girlfriend closely, and the smile was countered by Evan.

Now their beliefs can not be denied by anyone.

Then Evan's mother took out a small red box and opened it, with a ring inside.

"May I put it on Sean's finger?" Ask Nita

"Mother? I'll call her Mom? Mother-in-law?" sean muttered a little silly.

Sean looked at his father and mother for approval.

Then his father nodded his head allowing the sign.

"May Ma'am Please." Sean put his hand out.

Nita put the ring on Sean's ring finger.

"It fits in your finger Sean, thank God" said Ms. Nita.

Sean just smiled sweetly in agreement with Evan's mother.
